Thanks Erin for a real review without annoying sound effects. I think the Alexa feature not working is actually a bonus!! They have this sound bar at my local Costco for 650 and I'm going to buy it with a LG C9 OLED tomorrow. Thanks again for the info.

Can i use it as Chromecast-like to stream from my phone to tv? The barsound and the phone are connected by wifi (smarthings) / BT and the soundbar can send video to the TV ( hdmi out/arc) My tv is not "smart" and i'ld like to cast Netflix from my phone to the TV. Possible ??

Since ARC doesn’t support ATMOS could you share what source was plugged directly into HDMI on sound bar?

Good question. I don't think they do play for music; the music code wouldn't trip the overheads... that's what the Dolby encoding would be fore. But I had to return it back after my loan so I can't check for sure.

I have been using this for last one year. I think delay is something that you can change. But we got no issues due to delay.

I kinda think the subwoofer is not booming enough. Do u think I can add another "small" wireless subwoofer just to boost? Would it be detected? Ur feedback is anticipated.

When you plug in in poweroutlet it will automaticly connect to the soundbar, truly wireless.

This video has a close caption. Odd is it? Regarding sound bar. That’s awesome. I am trying to learn about sound bars and there are so many of them around. Interesting point is you control sound bar from cell phone. That’s great. Cost wise too much! P.S. This TV is huge and it’s bigger than you!

Thanks Erin. Based on your Intel I don't think that the overall value just isn't there. Imo The bristley price in conjuction with the advertised features and overall performance and challenges in the setup is a tough sell...? I'm feeling after friends and family purchases sales will be uphill sledding, Cheers 🇨🇦

If you could find an Atmos video clip that your dogs would track in the 3D sound space (maybe set the camera behind them more) that would certainly be a great demo of atmos and the cuteness factor would be awesome. I did get a good laugh seeing them. Thanks for the review.

Yes, it gave great sound quality, ATMOS and great punch from the soundbar. But after one year software crashed. It looks like that we may have to pay a heavy penalty fort this repair.

Hi Erin, we got back the sound bar after repairs. It works as a Brand New unit. Woolley Appliances did a great work. They indicated that the main board was replaced. They could not give a reason for failure. And I should thank Samsung for bearing the cost under warranty thought we had just passed one year. Great sound bar with great support from Samsung Australia. But my advice is to buy extended warranty covering three years.

Take the wattage with a grain of salt. Manufacturers use their power differently. I have heard 200 watt sound bars (JBL) sound better than 400 watt (Samsung).

Is it true that Samsung only supports atmos through a 4K blue ray player and not any apps?

No, I observed Atmos with Netflix and Apple Play 4k video. Sound bar gives room filling effect.

It's got amazing sound quality and for 400-500 new it's a good price. You can add a pair of wireless rear speakers to make it 5.1 surround sound. Getting a 7.1.2 sound system will cost 1200-1500 bucks.

Going to be honest only watching cause of Erin and yes the video was informative

Positives: Value for money, cheap. For the money you spent.. it is the best KZread comcast works Sound is good Surround from top should ideal work as Q70R has top speakers but I could not experience it. Possibly due to audio clip supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, plus pass-through 4K HDR video Subwoofer connects automatically by Wifi with soundbar Came with a free wall bracket for soundbar Came with free HDMI cable for ARC connection. Negatives : 1. When pairing Bluetooth of Samsung HW-Q70R/ZN with Sony X80H Tv model the Bluetooth did not work, problem could be on Sony tv side cause my android mobile is able to connect via bluetooth to the soundbar, Anyways since HDMI Arc connection worked with Sony X80H Tv the bluetooth connect with sony Tv is not such a big issue. 2. Samsung Wifi only works with Samsung Tvs does not work with Sony or LG tv 3. Subwoofer was ok not very good but just Ok 4. For some reason SWA9000 (160W rear speakers) wireless Rear speakers are compatible with HW-Q80R, HW-Q70T but could not find HW-Q70R in the list of compatible for SWA9000. It was only included in compatible list of SWA8500 (54W speakers). I think having a rear speaker does make good difference but the HW-Q90R is more then double the price so the Q70R was good value but the rear speaker option SWA8500, SWA9000 can enhance experience at a small extra cost AED. 250-400 (less then USD. 100) depending on model. Some one said SWA9000 works in Q60R so it would be a bummer if it did not work with Q70R. Someone needs to test and confirm this. 5. HW-Q70R does not have side speakers, HW-Q80R has side speakers, HW-Q90R has side speakers plus rear speakers. 6. Remote of Sony X80H Tv remote and Sound bar remote was not in sync. When you use the sony remote sound went to zero faster but sound bar was still showing 11, when I use soundbar remote it was easier to adjust lower volumes between 1-11 by one click at a time. So in other words the sync between sony tv remote and samsung soundbar is not like samsung tv remote vs samsung sound bar. Despite that this is not such a big issue as you can control via soundbar remote lower volume adjustments. If anyone has solution for Negatives reported please let me know.

In a recent UK TV ad they've chopped off the initial "A" so it sounds like "lexa" - not sure if that works. In Paul Hibbert's Home Tech videos he says "she who shall not be named".

That sub is huge, you could use it as an end table. $700 is crazy expensive, I don't know if it sounds so good it warrants a $700 price tag. Lots of great sound bars that are a fraction of the price. I like Harman Kardon, but they are proud of their "Stuff". ;)

I am sure it will be better then LG. My LG 4k costing ₹ 71000 lasted only for 26 months. My wife cried for 2 days how can LG do this since LG cheated us on warranty.

If you want a real home theater system and not this cute little thing, go for the Q90R. I'm ordering it this week

The q90r costs 1200-1500 bucks dude. For 400-500 bucks this is an amazing sound system. Adding a pair of wireless rear speakers makes it a 5.1 surround sound also.

I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart has the sound system for $400

what bugs me about many soundbars is when you use your direct tv many won't allow you to use one remote . To need two is so annoying.

For the price sound quality is average and subwoofer doesnt get that low. Not worth it.

$1000 is a bit pricey. Support for Dolby Atmos is great and all, but that soundbar doesn't support DTS:X, which is another sound codec. My Yamaha YAS-209 has DTS:X, but no Dolby Atmos---opposite of that Samsung lol

Is there ever an issue with audio being out of sync with video? I understand that eARC corrects this automatically but see that this sound bar doesn’t support eARC. So is there a manual adjustment sometimes needed?
