Good sirs, this new base is Matt Sallee. He is INCREDIBLE, and absolutely my favorite. He arguably has the best true range in the group, but the energy he’s injected in them... it’s hard to believe he wasn’t there from the beginning. I love Avi still, he is unreasonably talented. In my humble opinion though, the group has never sounded better than they do now.

@@ericag4597 3 of my kids grew up with Aaliyah ( I'm the mom so I get a pass if I spell the name incorrectly because I'm trying my best but.. I'm a mom!) and those three kids are now ages 33 to 37! My youngest turns 20 in about a month! I'm truly old and keep getting reminded when I have to do the math when I hear songs like this covered by Pentatonix! Those are Timbalands' Beats he wrote for his friend Aaliyah! Love it! So sad we lost her so young. R.I.P Aaliyah 💖

Now I’m starting to feel old and nostalgic 😩🤣 I think I’ve only watched one reactor, maybe 2, that recognized the song was by Aaliyah but also note that the beat was created by Dr. Dre. On the other hand I saw a pair of reactors think they were the lyrics to a TLC song! 🤣🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

Everyone in the group is also doing their own thing. Avi also left because of personal issues that prevented him from being as committed to this group. He helped choose Matt (the new bass) and Matt is good. He's part of the ever-growing family now.

If you are really iNTo PTX, Check out some of their older stuff, also I have been a PTX fan since they first sung on a show called the sing-off, produced by Shawn stockman from Boys to Men. That is where they started, Season 3. The show was dedicated to accapella groups. In 2011, so 12 years ago they brought the house down time and time again. I will love them forever and in the words of Shawn Stockman, " Scott is an absolute beast".

As people have said, Matt Sallee replaced Avi in 2017. Avi left cuz their touring schedule was really messing with his health and his mom was sick. He helped find Matt. He has an awesome solo career going. React to change on the rise by Avi Kaplan. Since it's Christmas you must do Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy which they won a Grammy for. Also Mary Did You Know and in the last three months they have dropped a lot of new videos some of them are Originals . Be my eyes. Happy Now. Thank you. Yeah it’s five voices, but it’s studio mixed. Their vocals are layered and they all do multiple parts. Their five voices are more like 10 at times. The mixing and mastering is also pristine.

not true at all, they don't do anything they cant perform live. everything you hear is them, the only thing they may add is reverb when mixing nothing else. they layer voices but they don't record and layer multiple parts. i, don't know where you got this idea.

Too much yelling for me. The song was good but hard to concentrate with the yelling and being loud
