Wouldn't rlly bring dms in more cuz u would still wanna go for the attacking midfielder in that team that would still also get an extra point for the win

Love the video mate and totally agree with the top tier, personally though I hate the in-play subs & captain switches. For me it is a lot more effort than it's worth and it takes away the risk of a rogue captaincy/transfer which makes the game so exciting!

There should be a rolling lockout for captaincy like in AFL fantasy. You basically have two shots at a captain cos you can put the VC on someone playing earlier and if they score well you can change your captain to someone not playing and get their score. Leads to more radical captaincy choices while allowing people to fall back on a safe captain.

Nice tier list, I think another must change is the assist rule. It needs to be more consistent. I tend not to like the ones where you can sub a player who has already played or in play captain switches because they act as "second chances" or bail outs

Only bp thing that needs a rework is the amount they get for saving a penalty. There was a game that was 3-3 last season The gk only made 3 saves one being a penalty but ended up with 3bp. The points for saving one is good enough, shouldnt almost be guarenteed 3bp too

I would say a chat in mini leagues would be cool! The leader could just moderate timeouts or bans to anyone who talks foul maybe

Fantastic idea!

An additional free transfer to avoid a -4 can be used once. So you can have upto 3 transfers if you save up your transfer and use the chip.

Top 2 tiers definitely makes sense. I've always wanted to see something to help the key midfield/def players, highest completed passes gets a point, highest tackles, something in those terms

There are other fantasy games that do that, such as the telegraph one. It adds uneeded complication to the game.

Appreciate we play the roll as the manager, wonder if it would add to FPL though if we had to pick a Matchday Manager (one of the club managers) who would be given points based on decisions e.g. Strategic sub who scores within 15min of entering game, points for win, draw or minus points for loss if given red or yellow cards, massive points loss if sacked.

Points per tackles is interesting. When 🇺🇸 football added point per reception that changed the whole fantasy game. I thought it’s way better. You’re right.. defensive CM will be more valuable.

Finally the change we have waited years for.

Any chips adding more tactics and depth, I'm all-for. Some points for some defensive actions as who you pick is mostly decided on which team they play for. The bonus points system is scuffed tho. It rewards goals and assists to highly while defensive midfielders for an example, never get bonus points even when they become motm on Sofascore or other sites

Hi Dan wondering how expensive you think Maddison will be because I am definitely going to consider him.

If I only get to suggest 1 change, I would go for something like 1 point per 2-3 successful Blocks GKs already get 1 point for every 3 saves they make per match, so I feel that for a defender, getting an equivalent system for blocks may be better than points for tackles, since a successful block usually means a denial of a clear scoring opportunity, whereas a tackle is generally more ambiguous

the player based deadlines will benefit the players who don´t work Saturdays, Sundays etc. I think the deadline is the fairest way it can be as is

'All goals worth same points' I bet you'd feel differently if your keeper scored

Love to a second assist introduced. Player could make a amazing run to the box, cross the ball which flicks of another player who gets the assist, for maybe a poor touch.

What about fixed positions? for example, in defensive line you must pick only one RB and LB, two CBs and any position as a sub... I'm really sick of seeing the same teams with 5 right backs

I wish CMs and DMs actually had value. Makes no sense for a team to have 5 wingers in midfield, it doesn't make sense as a team. Any rejig to the points system should take consider that (passes/tackles maybe idk)

I don't think you should over complicate the game by having more chips so which ones would you drop to introduce a new chip. I like the idea of the extended score review and all goals being worth 5 points. Maybe 1 clean sheet point if your player goes off before 60mins and 2 after. In play subs and captains would disadvantage those in different time zones or those who have other commitments during matches.

I think 1 point for the assist to the assist, to many times you see a player run through 3 or 4 players or make a pass that opens up a defence, for his teammate to make a simple pass to the forward to score, and the play that made the move gets nothing for it.

Dan, the player based deadlines will mean you have to manage your team throughout the game week, looking out for whether you need to sub someone out.

What is really strange in fpl is goal and assist points for forwards (3 and 4 points respectively). It makes no sense that a goal is just 1 points more than an assist. An assist should be decreased to 2 points or a goal should be increased to 5 points.

I think being able to cancel/revert any transfers made in a game week up until the cut off for that game week would be good

Then there would be no benefit waiting for the deadline and not going early in the case of a price rise.

The only one I'd really want is the linitless chip. Adds some fun and an opportunity to strategise but only a one week upsode, so doesnt destroy the game.

Well, I think CDM is a must have position, but not in the way you described it. There must be special formations with CDM spot and the CDM gets extra clean sheet points, like 3 or maybe even 4 like the defenders. And to stop people going week after week with Salah CDM captain, this position should be available in a special formation where you are forced to have 5 defenders and at least 3 MIDs.

I know it's useless but I want better kit customization with more designs and maybe the ability to change sleeve cuffs colors and collars

One tiny change to the previous ranks i would like to see is % rank. When i see i was 35k 5 years ago and 60k this year, i would like to know which is actually better based on no. Playing the game

Pretty sure that the March goal originally (immediately after the goal) was credited to March? Shortly after changed to a Harrison own goal. This made it even more frustrating.

The cdm position could be decent if it was along with CM, cause if not the midfields are full of sakas and salahs and not rices or rodris

For a defender to get CS, do they actually need to start the game or can they be subbed in and get CS as long as they played 60min?

When you have a player who has to miss a game week due to fixture congestion or something so you miss that game week with that player, if you sub him out later in the season and the game is played when you don’t have them you should get the points from them

I agree with the extended score review window. I don’t agree with the same points for a goal regardless of position. In fact, I’ve always wondered why, on the rare occasion a goalkeeper scores a goal, the rule is that they get the same as a defender. Surely it should be 10 points for a goalkeeper goal. Rolling more transfers would be an interesting one. You could effectively roll them up into a wildcard if you were that happy with your team from week to week. In reality, engaged players probably wouldn’t ever roll more than 3. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I seem to remember the Limitless chip in the Euros also removed the restriction on the number of players from each team, not just the prices. If that replaced the Free Hit it would make that chip so much more powerful

Being able to change ur captain in play will ruin fpl so do not want that

I’m not really into the idea of player-based deadline and in-play sub. It will just make the game too time consuming and eventually easier to give up the game for normal players. Imagine many people could have missed the deadline when they only need to make the change once per week, how can they follow if they need to make changes before every matches? Eventually it will be only a bunch of really hardcore fans playing which I think it is taking away the fun.

Great video. Bonus points are frustrating when a player comes on for 10 minutes and takes all 3 bonus.

Round all goals to 5 points. +2 points for the winning goal. Makes assists 5 points as well.

I'd like to see a two-team system where one is the regular FPL team system we all know and another is a fixed and unchangeable team where players get to pick one fixed team for the whole season just to be a smaller competition on the side.

It's insane we have athletes that are the best in the world at their position as a defensive midfielder, but they are a crap choice in the fantasy game. We need defensive midfielders to get clean sheet points.

I would like to see that transfers are not final until the deadline.

Player based deadlines sounds like a bad idea to me. Say Brighton and Arsenal are playing at 8pm, and you've got a choice to make between Mitoma and Martinelli. Neither are certain to start so you've got to think about it. With player based deadlines, it's a non-factor because you can wait until the official team news drops. Pick whoever starts or if they both start then just pick whoever you think will get more points. If neither start, bench or transfer.

I do feel like if you dont have a need to transfer out players then for 4 weeks then your free transfers should be 4 and not just 2

Goaline clearance points is a must change, winning a penalty should be 2 points garentee and upgraded to 3 if the player scores. Harsh to punish fouled player if striker misses. Points for mids and forwards the same yeah... but defender still needs to be high. A defender rarely scores more then 4 or 5 goals historically. However pen goals should be 4 no matter what position you play as position is irrelevant here. 2 CS sheet points per half would break the game as so many of the top teams go into half time ahead/ 0-0 if you look at the stats, this would make top team defenders far to OP.

if i am to pick 1 change i think a limitless chip sounds amassing

I think reclassifying CDMs as defenders just like wingers are considered midfielders would revolutionise the game positively

How about better prizes for each country? Since there's an automatic league joined based on the country we're in.. lol

If you make the game more time demanding, such as in play subs/captain changes and player based deadlines would ruin the game. Lots of fantasy teams do this and they are all worse than FPL. The more management you have to do for your team, the more people will miss it (due to lives/timezones/work etc) the more disengagement you will get.

Think I would actually stop playing if those changes were made. You'd have to be glued to your computer all weekend....

I'd augment Power Captain to Best 11. Not only does yoyr captain become your teams top scorer, but your entire 11 is changed based on your team's top scorers.

I agree with them all, but I still think something needs to be done about the DM's in the game, like it's a completely wasted position in FPL. I think for that reason points for tackles/interceptions should be a must change. No other position in FPL is disrespected as much as them!

Bonus points are more powerful than people think. Players like shaw, kane and trippier consistently get bonus points and its something worth considering when picking players.

That "All Out Attack" Chip would only be useful really for the last gameweek, when it's pretty pointless to back defences on that game👍 Solid vid Dan

Something that annoys me is that previous GW-teams changes with players current status and teams. Trossard got me points in a Brighton shirt. Not Arsenal. And players being red flagged even though they played. Makes going back to look at previous game weeks confusing.

Great list, but how many of those changes will actually happen, I'd say none of them will actually happen!!!

the point of the Deadline is surely because the creators need a good hour and a half to process 9 million teams. Wouldn't be surprised if it moved backwards

Pricing is already pretty performance based because people sell vs buy based on how the player is playing

Deduction points for replacement player from 4 point to 3 point.

PICK A MANAGER - points would be awarded based on their club’s performance for that week - score would be the average of the scores for all players that played that week (rounded to whole number).

Player based deadlines - time zones???

All out attack means swapping 1 player from normal GWs. It hardly even merits the status of a chip. A forward scoring a goal is worth 4 points + likely bonus which means they different points for goals is reduced. Don't agree with 2 points for 1st half clean sheet if team goes on to concede in second half.

dan the motm is decided by the premier league, the same way they decide the assist and goals

I think deadline till kick off is a bad idea. It makes team selection less risky and that is less fun for me. If it was like no one would ever have a player that didn't start

Better servers #1! I am a huge fan of weekly performance-based price changes versus daily popularity changes. 1-5 pts scored = no price rise. 6-11 =.1m, 12-17 =.2m, 18+ =.3m. Zero or fewer pts with 45+ mins played = -.1m. No play no change. This will accommodate the extended scoring review that you mentioned & I also strongly support. It also brings more transparency to pricing, at least after the season starts, anyway. So far, my favorite fpl video of the pre-season. Keep ‘em coming!

Personally I don't like the idea of all goals being worth the same. I think it would devalue defenders and take away that hilarious satisfaction you get when your defender scores

I like player based deadlines but it means you’re forever having to be on fpl over the weekend and becomes favourable to those who have spare time to make any late changes

I don’t think there should be too many changes. I think missing a penalty should lose a player more points. Then instead of all goals being the same amount, I think strikers should get +1 point per goal. So if you get a hat trick you get 4, 5, then 6.

5:33 I think by bonus point rework, people mean that the bonus points should be proportional to the bps. Under current system, if 3 players have 32, 31, and 30 bps respectively, they get 3,2 and 1 bonus points. If it was proportional (say 10 bps = 1 bonus point), they will all get 3 bonus points. This will also make crazy 50 bps hauls worthwhile because you will be 5 bonus points.

Deadline change that would avoid team leaks advantage. I guess you had Solly March for that OG and you live in an awkward time-zone 😂

I'd like to see BPS change to 5 men , 5,4,3,2,1 spread it out more

Don't like the player based deadlines and in play subs, captain switches etc because those are rules that only benefit highly engaged managers and make it less fun for casual players. I know it's frustrating to find your Monday kickoff players won't be playing after a Friday deadline, but that's part of the game and the same for everyone. It also means you can just make your decision one time per week then sit back and relax and enjoy the games. Otherwise I pretty much agree with all the other suggestions categorisations and would love to see the must changes all implemented!

Mostly agree. Up to 3 rolls is excellent and should be one level up. Hide ownership is OK, it should be possible for FPL to block that?

1. *EVERY 'decent' save should be worth a point* . This offers fairness and value to smaller clubs who may have to defend brilliantly against the big boys. For example, a GK can do a world class save to retain a point for his team, yet receive no FPL points. Now, imagine a striker needing to score three goals to receive just 1 point. Generally, the GK needs more appreciation. At present, six save gets 2 points, but if a GK lets just one in, he immediately loses 4 points. Surely this is unfair. 2. *Any player who saves off the line, or any certain goal, should receive 4 points* , the same as the minimum for a player who scores. Again, this could be the difference between a team winning or losing a game. 3. *Surely a GK should receive more points if he scores?* It is so rare. I suggest 8 points. 4. *A player should receive extra points for scoring more than 3 goals in a game* . Perhaps +2 for each goal thereafter. For example, if a midfielder scores four goals he should receive 5+5+5+(5+2) = 22 points. If he scores five goals he should receive 5+5+5+(5+2)+(5+2) = 29 points. It looks excessive, but it is so rare I think such a reward is warranted.
