You are skill full modeller Peter. The 20’s look a lot better & more realistic. The Auto Ballasters look superb , pity you don’t like weathering as the factory make them all the same which as you know is not right! Always enjoy your vids. Regards John

Evening King Peter, love the auto ballast wagon's, but pity you need to be a member of the Bachmann club just to get them, another ploy to get more money out modelers! I am now remodeling in O gauge having attempted N (glasses + Magnifier) then OO9 Yes less said about that the better, (larger but no better than N) OO simple up and down station DMU layout boring! My main problem is, how do I model a railway in a 40' long narrow boat with a limited area! my layout area is around 5'6'' long 2' tapering down to 10'' for the sector plate in width, plus the additional problem of a shelf over the layout!

Hi there, yes indeed crafty isn't it. Wow a narrow boat, watching a series at the moment called "narrow escapes" so I know how you have to play clever regards space and all that, so no I have no idea how you fit OO Guage in there let alone O :) All the best Peter

I was watching some KZread videos about the trains in rugby and Coventry and Birmingham back in the 1980s I was taking a back how rugby train station has change the trains I see on your layout is actually the same I saw on the videos I must have started watching it at 1:00 a.m. and finished at 3:00 a.m. What enjoyable video

Hi Peter, great video catch up, great to see you have some Auto Ballasters on your great layout, you are correct regarding their availability so you did what you had to do, the older models are going for mad money because of the newer ones of which you have a rake, I managed to get 8 of them over the course of a year, that’s enough for me along with the Ermewa silver bullet chrome style wagons, I’m not a fan of weathered rolling stock because it’s never floated my boat so to speak, have you seen the new 12ton Plasser & Theurer crane EFE rail have coming out at the end of the year? You have your model in Balfour Beatty livery with the support van which look amazing, thanks for sharing.

@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 Hi, I believe they have to get a licence to produce Balfour Beatty items, Hornby already have a license so there may be a problem, I saw some secondhand JJA wagons today at a model railway exhibition, they were between £68 - £72 which is a about what they go for now, I’m not sure if Bachmann will produce them in the other liveries so why don’t say Revolution Trains or Rapido have a go at them as the JJA auto ballaster wagons are ignored by manufacturers.

Mate doing those 20s must have been a pain. They look mint.

Hi Peter, Your new NR wagons look great, especially with the loads, end of train lamp & light weathering. I have a rake of the original Railtrack liveried versions & mine are weathered too. They look superb but then you know my thoughts about weathering stock - everything has to be!

Nice job on the Class 20s and it was good of Bachmann to send out a new body and then to top it all a rake of Auto-Ballasters. Please do not worry about keeping up with the Jones'. If you look at the videos I posted last week, you will see that I have placed Lord Al's Lav on platform 2 He can be seen inside reading the Sun Newspaper open at page 3. Martin. (Thailand)😄

Hello Peter, I have been tempted by these auto ballasters but I'm waiting to see if eventually Bachmann will want to off-load them to retailers, a bit cheaper (dream on William) .They are a bit cheaper now £85 but charging £40 to join the club to get them, is a bridge too far. Peter the loads look excellent, were did you get them from? if you don't mind my asking. I use Inox MX3 with CMX wagon and have inclines to upper level, and have never found any slipping Just my opinion and experience. Great informative and entertaining video, Bill.

Hi Bill, wagons are going for £70.79, which is what I got them for after having to join the club and that's £39. Loads are from e-bay and there's all sorts not just the auto ballasters and the sellers name is "smuggler7". Like you I am happy to say I have no traction problems using Inox which seems incredible seeing its a Cleaner/Lubricant. I haven't cleaned loco or rolling stock wheels ever since I started using it. Alas after registering with Bachmann but NOT paying £39 to join club, I found the £70.79 was WITHOUT VAT so with VAT they are still £84.95, therefore have not bought any. Do you have a business so don't have to pay VAT or am I doing something wrong? As regards the Inox I have serious numbness/pins and needles in both hand (called peripheral neuropathy) so cannot clean track by hand, finding Inox has been a godsend, by just using Inox and CMX I haven't manually cleaned my track for 6 months and so far have had no problems. Hi Richard, I use Inox Mx3. No good if you have locos with traction Tires. It does reduce grip a little but that's no problem for me as my layout is flat Cheers Peter
