Somehow you didn't mention tickets. They gave incentive to everybody to play the game everyday, so that they may eventually buy a clothing item or accessory that they want. (I guess people were making bot accounts to farm tickets quick, but that's not the point.)

I think a lot of us just think old roblox is better because of the nostalgia. The things mentioned in the video are true, but it was always bad. Honestly roblox just seemed better in the past because we loved the games we played when we were young and now a lot of them are dead or didn't/couldn't grow up with the audience. Not to mention, a lot of the older content creators we loved have since quit or gotten boring.

In old roblox, free UGC in roblox games was rare. I remembered getting my first free UGC in a roblox game and it was an Obby with no checkpoints.

This is just like the dislike feature. A lot of people said they were boycotting youtube because of this. What happened? Nothing. Everyone OR most of us just moved on and continue on with youtube. This is similiar for roblox players, they despite what's given today when they know very well (most or a lot of them here) they will come running back to Roblox or never even thought about leaving at all. I know this isn't that relate to this but I'm just putting it out there at least yes. Old Roblox, New Roblox, don't matter. What matters to me at least is the general experience, the overall experience. Am I having some entertainment? Well, yeah, you can say that. I really do have a lot of interest in here.

KZread doesn't have any alternative. Basically, with KZread alternatives, you have Crypto KZread, Nazi KZread, KZread but it's all ads, Crypto KZread, Crypto KZread, or Crypto KZread. This is what happened in meep city. Online daters would pretend to do the “DIRTY” on a bed in a house, soon beds were removed from the game but still people did the “DIRTY” on the floor, so the beds were added back, also there used to be a tent in the game called parties and you could join people in homes and hang out but people did a lot of bad stuff in the houses so parties was removed

Parties were a really fun feature but the fact that Alex never moderated them truly showed how he only cared about money and waited until he had to be forced to remove it. Ultimately the lack of moderation caused it to be the terrible cesspool it was

there are literally soo many games by small creators, that deserve so much more recognition than they get. there is so much passion, innovation and dedication put into those games. for me, thats why i enjoy roblox games so much nowadays, not because of the crap roblox advertises on the home page.

In my opinion, old Roblox was better in some aspects (Egg Hunts, the old avatar editor, Roblox not constantly shoving features down our throats that no one asked for, and the old myths.) I think the games and a part of UGC have improved greatly. Not to mention that many KZreadrs have gotten so much better. And on top of all of that Roblox Studio is the most powerful it's ever been. That's just my take. Edit: I also started in 2017 if that changes anything.

1:25 Oh my goodness, I remember every single moment when I wanted to join a RP party with my friends. They were like BOMBARDED with these str!p clubs, and I was so shocked. Little me did have some common sense and decided to NOT engage with them, and instead, do rp parties. Sometimes I would troll them so they can feel ashamed of their actions (some of this worked actually, LOL) The parties being removed was a good thing, but I miss my little JJBA meepcity friend group T_T

As a 2018 Roblox player and more recently a passion developer, I can definitely agree that Roblox now (compared to how I remember it back in 2018) is a lot better. Neccolo makes a good point when he says that all the issues have existed since the dawn of time, not even mentioning that some used to be worse. From a player side, the Roblox Moderation has become less loose which keeps the community safer. Back in 2018, while most English swears were already blocked, swears in other languages like German weren't. Now, with wider language support on Roblox in general, swears are nearly impossible to encounter unless someone uses heavy workarounds. Clothing in 2018 was still very copy paste, and counterfit was all the rage. A bunch of Roblox users back then were wearing fake Adidas and Nike on their Avatar and the overall non-generic options we're limited. While most of these issues are still a thing now, you won't see as many copy paste clothing items from my experience. Additionally, Avatar customization in general has gotten a lot better. Layered Clothing itself has made a huge impact, since it can morph to your body without being flat. Layered clothing is also much harder to counterfit, since you need to know 3D modeling or be able to rip the model somehow. The community... actually Neccolo said everything about that one already. Only thing I can add is that, despite having Meepcity Plus, I never hosted or went to one of these parties. Copy paste games will always exist. It's like copy paste minecraft prison and smp servers or cringy reaction youtubers. They will and have always existed. Heck, what is now dominated by Simulators, Anime fighting games and Toilet Tower Defense was once dominated by generic cart rides, obby's and tycoons. Nothing has changed except the types of games. And finally, from a development side, Roblox has gotten so much better. A few years ago, you couldn't even round the corners on UI elements without some workarounds. Now you can using the UICorners object. Studio has admittedly interesting (AI) autocomplete which is a huge time saver in some cases. The documentation has dark mode! *DARK MODE!* To conclude this huge comment, *roblox now is better than back then* and I will not change my opinion. Flame me all you want, you can't grill me.

Now the things that didn't apply do, and back when it didn't people immediately link it with fun and happiness. Hence people saying old Roblox is better. For example, if you asked me if I would rather play Bloxburg or Welcome to the Town of Robloxia: I would play Bloxburg because it's more interesting and interactive. I had a lot of good memories in Robloxia, but I wouldn't play it today because it doesn't meet my interests.

I just think the games now are just actually bad now. I mean sure we had so much obbies back then that were basically the same thing universally and free robux scams, but the amount of trash games that just wanna ride the current trend, rife with transactions to make money, and still being promoted by Roblox while the actually good games are being neglected and forgotten. tbh the passion is what I miss the most on roblox. Though we have incredible projects like block tales, combat initiation, hours, and phighting, the majority of it is pure slop. Gamefam, Voldex, Preston, and all the other companies were really the downfall of what some of us miss.

i think old roblox is just better because of it taking place during the early internet, communities are smaller, the ratio between quality and quantity is much better, everything is new, you didnt miss anything, technology is still improving and stuff is being made. you dont get that from new roblox or the internet in general. new roblox is done, its ended. its like playing a game on a save file of a game thats already been completed, cant go back and do any quests since they've all been finished. limiteds no longer release, egghunts are gone, and all the attempts made by roblox to appease the community have been terrible. theres also the 2022 audio update.

Well, you forgot to mention one thing, development, back then you could use any audio in the catalog, but now, you just cant use any music, while yes, it costed 100 robux to upload one, you could atleast steal almost any ost on roblox, user ads existed (so smaller developers had atleast a way to advertise their games, if they had the money, of course). While these things do have some drawbacks, honestly, i dont think that old things are always better.

Honestly new roblox is much funner and new roblox is honestly a lot better than old roblox if you just ignore the toxicity and cringy fatherless kids out there and 2006 is not at all the best year of roblox or that time the best year of roblox was probably 2017

The community would be easier to moderate in the earlier days 2006-2008 due to the smaller community, too. One last thing, I don't think anyone in 2007 to whenever those weird "milkies" shirts came out were giving their block people names like "snowbunny" or "blackbull" then.
