When I had been to Italy when v were in a restaurant a beggar came n demanded food,took it n sat outside the restaurant.He was first to enter. When we asked the young owner the story,he said he never pays for food but always pay for his beer & we take it to maintain his self respect.He is very lucky for us. He is the 1st to enter the restaurant in mrng n evening & all staff are instructed to give him whatever he orders. He sits out & greets everyone wholeheartedly when they enter the restaurant. Your story reminded me of this 2019 incident which I witnessed myself
