I made a variant on your first build, replacing 3 levels of attack boost with marathon runner to keep feral demon mode uptime.

Important note, the Aelucanth Thorax S is called the Rhopessa Thorax S for female hunters. It’s the one with the butterfly wings.

You don't really need Flinch Free for Dual Blades, if you are in Demon Mode (or Feral Demon Mode) you gain a level in Flinch Free, giving you an open slot for something else!

Tigrex Dual Blades tend to outdamage Narga for Raw in all cases but you need a good enough charm to build proper, Chameleos DB looks like they're the best raw now and they're a bit comfy too. Elemental is still the way to go for most monsters in the game since 2.0. However, 3.0 Rampage Dual blades upgrade, Valstrax and Mizu upgrade are helping that with Water and Dragon options. This is for damage focus of course and not comfort There is a meta compliation 3.0 in reddit for general damage focused builds. Dual Blades 3.0 builds are compiled there if DPS is your focus

this can be done with a Wex2/ 2-0-0 talisman if Valstrax Braces are switched out with Rathalos.

If your going for elemental build using valstrax, their elemental cap is 42 either use dragon attack lvl4 or valstrax soul rampage skill. FYI

@@lokyanvanadis9951 believe what he is saying is that ur actual damage doesn't go up past that, even if ur sheet says otherwise. Monster hunter has been notorious with the invisible soft caps on elemental damage.

Doesn’t the number turn orange if it is above the cap? I have mine at 56 (when dragon blight is active due to valstrax soul and dragon attack 5) should probably try to decrease my elm and change valstrax soul to wyvern exploit or attack up.

I so close had the same talisman except mine had 2 attack boost same slots, still works though just 1 less attack

You can make a stormsoul set with rampage db that feels like you're playing the game in easy mode. Your dps is lower but the extreme mobility and nearly infinite demon mode means you can just never stop pumping out respectable damage numbers.

Been waiting for this since Valstrax, I love DB so much 👏🏻 been my main weapon since 3U!

I have a talisman with lv2 WEx and a lv 1 slot. I can use the Rathalos gloves for that easy lv2 Atk Boost plus that one lv2 slot.

Really love your work and sets!

While in feral demon mode you gain flinch free while using it

On that final build, wish there was a way to fit like 2 agitator in to reach that 100% lol

I could almost do the narga build but I swapped to evade extender and evade window charms cause I dont have atk boost 3 lol

And I'm running Val armor but made it crit based but doing more damage then if I put in atk boost lvl7 at 80 percent and only 3 off at the start of the hunt so lose 3 but gain more when I take a hit

I'd suggest sacrificing a bit of your attack boost for evade extender if you're running feral demon mode. This is personal preference obviously but it basically maximizes uptime and negates the speed loss from feral demon mode cause you can just dash back into the monster. Additionally it makes the dual blades feel very safe as you not only can evade really far but are also only one wire bug away from a really forgiving counter

@@solomon9655 agreed, I have a few builds without evade extender like my hellion build but I definitely enjoy my build with evade extender and almost always get better times as I am able to just stay glued to the monster and get in and out of danger at will. It's one of those things where sure in the training room it has slightly less damage but in a real hunt it's better to have more options to maximize uptime.

Thanks to real life, I am slowly working on a DB Chameleos poison build. With 55+ second poison duration with blessing, I am hoping that it translates to 100% poison up time with the poison buff. 🙏

Man you actually have an attack boost talisman... lucky. My best talisman is... maybe the evade extender 2 drg atk 1 with 2 lv1slots, or maybe my poison atk 3 evade extender 1 (even though I hardly use poison) with 1 lv3 slot and 2lv 1 slots I can't tell if these are all that great though. Btw thanks for the kimahri layered armor build imma bit of a FF and zelda nut so that was awesome

Would you mind doing a comparison between the Rampage Db's and a generic Elemental Db? I'm currently using the rampage Db's with Explosion plus element, and they just seem to top every other pair in any aspect. I may be wrong but i'd love to see some testing

poison is better than blast in this game

i prefer for rampage weapons sharpness type 1, you gain 20 raw for only 2 or 3 points of Handicraft,and I think sharpness 4 doesnt make up for it

I'm most unlucky i only have 2 good charm I use in most of my sets a quick sheath lv2 with a 3 slot and a 2 slot then a partbreaker lv2 and rapid morph lv2 with a 2slot and 2 1slots

AB3 is basically a God talisman. I don't think it's by any means something the majority of people have come across. I've never even managed to find an AB1. I've rolled Wex2, CE2, QS3 and CE2 but never AB.

Any reason why you don’t use power prolonger in any of your duel blades build ? Because I use lvl 3 power prolonger and lvl 3 razor sharp and it helps out a lot

honestly, the valstrax armor is the best option for a dragon elemental build

Pretty sure I played with that naruto guy two days ago.

I only get AB1 with a slot, or AB2 with no slots... so I think I’m even less lucky than you are, Sir Paradise... ;-;

Dual blades are much more fun with non meta damage builds, if you mix and match narwa and ibushi new armors you get constitution , Stam surge, evade window and extender, marathon and many more all maxed out , you feel anime never losing stamina

I know the Narga weapons are like staple, but man it's getting pretty old now. I for one use the Chameleos DB with 1 handicraft, 6 AB, 6 Crit eye, 3 wex, 2 crit boost, 1 prot polish, 3 speed sharp, 3 poison, 1 flinch free, 1 stun res. Not the most optimal but I still like it

I'm not a dual blade player, i might have used it on worldborne a few time, but i recently heard that while on demon mode you were granted 100% affinity , is that true ? if so, why not giving up WEX and slot in samourai to get it's random chance of not consuming sharpness ? combined with master touch this would probably be a real good choice isnt it ? i dont have the courage at this point to test it myself cuz i will probably not even notice the difference as i dont usually play the weapon :s

Hey, I'm super glad you enjoy the videos and the discussion style we do :) for your question you do not have 100% affinity in demon mode, you only get this with the "hellion" ramp up skill that is on 1 set of dual blades (raging claws). Its a super fun build to make and use, but with the newest updates some of the other dual blades might be a better option to make builds with such as the ones in this video. Hope that helps!

@@ParadiseCentral just test narga DB, only change is my charm à razor-sharp slot 3,instead of ab 3 you can go for 250hit of white sharpness on the TrainING room while hitting only the metal part of the turtle, this is a lot :0 without samurai it's around 170ish hits only

Dragonheart specifies that it will increase your Dragon damage despite the blight normally removing it.

Dragonheart doesn't amplify dragon damage, but the Valstrax Soul ramp-up does as long as you have dragonblight.

Hey, kind of a newbie here. I'm at the point where I'm fighting Allmother(haven't beat her yet.) How do I unlock the tier 7 weapons for say chameleos or teostra? Is that after beating allmother? I play HH, but I'm looking at dual blades and longsword to experiment with as well.

For the upgrade to the elder weapons, you need some Valstrax materials, which’ll be available to you after Allmother and once you reach HR 100

@@desync920 Thank you. Literally couldn't find any info on how to actually unlock them. I'm well on my way, since I need Kushala Daoras gem, so I've been grinding it for a little while. I'm at about HR 80, so I'm still a little ways off. I finally beat Allmother yesterday after a few more tries. Been soloing since my hunting partner was busy.

I think that the last ibushi dual blades do this better...

Doesnt the valstrax armours skill dragonheart inflict you with dragonblight? Meaning you dont deal elemental dmg. Meaning any elemental weapon cant use valstrax armour including the valstrax dualblades?

You need to have Valstrax Soul on the DB and you’ll be fine.

Funny enough, other than not benefiting from wyvern exploit against Valstrax - he also has a 0 on all his hit zones against dragon so you're wasting your time using dragon against him regardless. Also funny enough, literally any and every other element is equally effective against him.

What about hellion mode? Would you consider the nargacuga blades are better? Because with hellion mode I have room for skills like marathon runner and I still have 6 attack boost and the paralysis is pretty good as well

Helion Dbs are mostly for fun if we're talking about maxing out damage. You're losing a ton of damage in arch demon mode which is also importanf

How are you losing dmg using Hellion mode? It just double your sharpness degration which can be negated by protective polish. Arch demon mode buff wasnt negated by it aswell

By using raging claws you don’t need to be in Arch demon mode and forever stay in Feral demon mode since you got 100% affinity already, you can use the extra slots for stamina maanagement marathon runner, constitution etc. So overall performance it outclassed narga dbs. Both have 190 base dmg raging claw only need 1 hadicraft for white sharpness aswell.

Chameleos do out damage nargacuga with the uptime of poison on DB. Narga isnt really that fantastic for DBs. Every elemental Db out damages it and Chameleos does the job better when elemental isn't too viable

There's no reason to use narga over chameleos if chameleos straight out, out damages narga and you'll ever only wanna bring a non-elemental db on magnamalo, narwa and kush since their elemental weakzones aren't that good. Apart from those 3. Elemental DBs are the best dps choice no matter what. Isnt bringing the best weapon in a fight comfort and everything below the best is an inconvenience hence not comfort?

Tbh as Long as you get at least 3 better 4 lvl2 skills/slots you need for a build you are good to go. Be it razor sharp, PP, attack boost, crit eye But also stuff like silk Bug or artillery... Many lvl 2 skills out of wex and crit boost can be great. I just good 3 lvl bubbly dance + lvl 2 slot. Great with valstrax armor. Rescutiate stacks per Status.

I have one good talisman after hundreds and it's a slugger 2 with 3-2-1 and I think a point in dragon attack. I play sns so the slugger is nice. I also have a bludgeoner one that's the same but it's 2-2-1

Same here and I've done the rajang farm method to speed things up and I still get garbage. I think the best Talismans I've rolled, is razor 2 with 3 1 slots and a attack 2 with a few 1 slots :/

You guys should create a more concise video especially for builds like this. Your videos are too good but my 15 minute break isn't enough to finish one. 🥺 And that's not counting the minutes where I walk from my desk to the pantry.

with the dragon build, as soon as you drop to 50% hp once, you will contract dragonblight which will negate your elemental dmg. never use vasltrax armor with elemental/status weapons.

@@Brawl64masta because element is so strong on duals because of the amout of hits you do and with the ramp duals you get 30 element, pretty good raw and white sharpness. With a set you get alot of crit quite easily too with crit boost. So basically its just atk 7 vs like 40 elemt 8f you have a good set and element wins as ling as the monster is weak to it

I kick anyone in high rank who has anything under rarity 6 armor in certain high rank quests cuz they always die an use all 3 lives😞

Master's Touch 3 + Razor Sharp 3 = roughly 95% chance to just not use sharpness.

Don't use Dragon weapons on Valstrax he is litteraly immune to it so the attack ramp up on his DBs is not really worth it unless you intend to farm elders like Ibushi/Narwa/Cham/Kush but even then I think a Valstrax full set with dragonheart combined with Valstrax soul might have better potential for those elders, if you want to farm anything else than elders with those just pick wyvern exploit without a second thought though.

So sad that all those weapons are just "viable" and not something you clearly want to use for certain monsters.

Why would you fight valstrax with a dragon weapon when it’s weak to every element except dragon? You said your using attack boost ramp up on it with valstrax? You guys are casuals 😂 Also I don’t know why you keep showing these RAW sets like narga, in almost every situation with 1 or 2 exceptions elemental DB are the way to go. You should be showing best build for each element.

@@mhk6943 That actually isn't true in Rise. In Iceborne it was the 2nd strongest melee weapon after great sword. But now it actually has one of the slowest average kill times of all weapons. Only above lance, gunlance and hammer. The moveset is better, but they gutted the damage the dual blades do. Even sword and shield kills things faster than it.

@@plus-delta4477 That was before 2.0. After 2.0 the build flexbility helped the weapon immensely making it faster than Charge Blade and most other Melee weapons. Fox Invictus is a Switch Axe speedrunner who recently did a video on the speedrun tier list. He talks about Dual Blades position and improvements in the video from 1.0. Long story short it now kills faster than most Melee weapons.

@@plus-delta4477 Dual Blades is a Skill hungry weapon. To compensate for the low motion values any additional damage skill has an exponential damage increase to the actual hits. In 1.0 there was so little flexibility with dps skills that when Wex and Crit decos showed up in 2.0, all of a sudden we could make way better Dual Blade builds that contributed immensely to the weapons improvements in speedruns. There is also the fact that sharpness is a big issue for DB and 1.0 didn't provide much room for a lot of damage skills (except Narga) let alone Sharpness skills like Protective Polish. So when Polish came as a deco that too helped with the weapon A LOT. One thing to note is that the Narga Dual Blades that people had to use in 1.0 was Raw - does not complement well with Dual Blades who heavily rely on element since it is a low damage per hit/very fast attacking weapon. The reason why people used Narga DB in 1.0 was because there was so little skill flexibility that you just couldn't fit in much in a build for DB which made Narga's good sharpness and 40% Affinity appealing. This issue has immensely improved in 2.0 with the decorations that gave us more room in builds. In the beginning of World it was also doing bad like in Rise because of the same issues I mentioned before. However, over the course of World there were better build flexibility provided by updates and better weapon options such as Safi and Kjar weapons that brought it up.
