New pothole repair machine helps fix defects that are difficult to reach

A new pothole repair machine has been developed by road repair specialists Velocity bringing benefits to parts of the road network that are the most difficult to reach.
New from the wheels up, the machine is the latest iteration of Velocity’s spray-injection patching technology - a process that the company pioneered 25 years ago. The compact machine is designed to be mounted on the smallest possible chassis, enabling it to access very narrow rural lanes, as well as congested urban environments.

Fort Wayne, IN tested a machine like this 18 years ago. Couldn't handle the cold and didn't fare too well in the hot summer either. The patches couldn't bond to the road and stay together in the heat. The drier can't dry in the cold (no heat). Returned to seller.

Most of that is what I thought. There's no way that is compact enough to stay long.

Just had our road done.... sadly the repairs washed away within 10 days of rain???? In my uneducated opinion you need to roll the repairs in at leasat twice during the process, if you want them to last...

Leaves absolutely dangerous roads surfaces especially for 2 wheeled roads user after this type of “repairs” has been applied. Our LA used to this type of machine but thankfully stopped using it due to escalating material cost.

What we need is more "Dougs" making sure the road foundation is sound and less "Phils" bodging the roads. Complete waste of resources it's laughable. I can't believe this is a serious attempt at a solution to road repair. We just need the right people doing a good quality repair using existing machinery. Job done!
