Hey everyone welcome back to Ignition On The Left! In this video we talk about the new fully electric Porsche Macan 4. Who should buy one? We'll present a couple of different view points in this video. If you were to ask me. I thoroughly enjoy the Taycan as a daily driver, so I'm looking forward to getting into one of these.

    Agree!! 😊 This is the car still. Not a PC. And that matters to me. Perfectly balanced between conservative and modern equipment in the car. I quite hate one tablet in the middle for everything! This car has on top physical buttons and not capacitive all functions. To me, I like nearly everything on it. Despite rather fun of combustion engines, having money on top 😊, Macan 4 would be in my garage as I drive city mostly.

    Where are these guys getting this nonsense that you have to replace the battery at 100k miles? There are so many EVs at this point that are well beyond that on their original batteries. I got the call yesterday for a Macan 4 allocation, but passed until I can see one in person. Will probably take the first allocation I am offered after that to replace my Tesla Y.

    There is a reason these cars are depreciating so fast. The warranty on the 2021 and 2022 Taycan battery packs is 80K miles. Some say the 2023 warranty has been extended to 100K miles. One guy on Reddit was complaining about his Taycan pack dying after 10K miles and the Porsche service department said it would take 2 months to get a new one and there were four cars ahead of him for battery replacements just in their shop. If you are beyond 80K miles and your $52K battery pack dies your Taycan will be totaled.

    The recent leases Audi is doing on the E-Tron are some indication that these 100k EVs simply won't sell. Gonna be interesting to the see sell through on this Macan. It is damn good looking though.

    E-tron never really met expectations from what I understand. The macan may struggle as more and kore competition in that price point

    I'm very tempted, but man these evs depreciate hard. I'm too crazy with the options and end up with one at 115k when I'm trying to be conservative.

    My daily is the new Macan GTS and its the best thing ever. Got to spec them right though. I put $50k in options in mine (not pts). Intend to keep it forever.

    @@ignitionontheleft Air Suspension - Full leather interior - Panoramic Roof - Radar Cruise - 360 Cameras - Lane Keep and Change assist - Thermal Noise insulated glass - Burmester - Heated Wheel and heated ventilated seats - Sports Chrono - PTV+ - GTS Suspension delete (raises ride by 10mm to Turbo Spec for comfort) - PASM - PSCB - Roof rails - Tow Hitch - Side steps - PDLS+ - If you plan on road-tripping it, heated windshield ain't gonna hurt either ... That's what I got from memory. The rest of the options were basically covering everything in leather and aesthetic choices.

    And to be clear that above list is what I'd consider absolutely worth it...I know it might look like i just listed all the options..

    Why in god’s name would you be interested in the e-Macan? Just as my late Taycan, which lost 7% SOH over 1,5yrs and 52000km after commuting in it and 7-9 track days, you’re going to fry it’s battery and depreciate 60% over 2 yrs. Why? Just why? Get a used Leaf for city driving and stick to GT Porsches for your kicks
