The French Corbin can be replaced by a party coup. Just like labour in the uk did to the original Corbin. One more roll of that old dice 🎲 in Europe. French and Uk elections both headed the same way. Remember the globalists think they can control the chaos 🇫🇷

Keep in mind Le Pen said she would take in Palestenians so Israel could continue their atrocities in Gaza. Europeans are done with taking in more immigrants, but they are also seeing the cause and effect, so they are responding accordingly. Looks like North America's future is going to be very isolated, which isn't good considering what's brewing in South/Central America. Mexico is already looking to rival US industrial capacity long-term, and China is heavily investing...

Did you even watch the video? It’s not new. The system was designed that way to keep the communists out of power in the 60s and 70s. This time it worked against the right. Also the RN only got 35% of the vote and that is not an absolute majority even in proportional representation.

Frankly, it seems this is true across the board. We have legacy demographics and younger demographics coming to a real vicious head towards each other. You see it in Europe and North America. Previous demographics want to keep the status quo or return to how things were while the new demographics don't see their future nearly in that way, believing their interests could finally be realized. People talk of America having a civil war, but it's looking more like how the Qing dynasty fell, but maybe a bit worse. The previous demographics were scapegoated for all the economic stagnation and weakness of the young and were systemically targeted as a response.

classic liberalism is almost dead in the west, an internationalist socialist is much closer to what you call neo-liberal than you are willing to admit; today's left-liberals, or progressives, in the US are a soft version of socialists, one which accepts the corporations and tries to control them, instead of nationalizing them; other than that they share the technocratic bureaucratic mindset for governing and problems solving; the hardcore, state ownership over the means of production, brand of socialism is thankfully a hard sell considering the fiasco of the communist enterprise; so until we learn to accept free markets, we are stuck with this big government - big corporations model; call it neo-liberalism or crony capitalism all you want, it's closer to socialism than it is to free markets

not really. it worked so far because the house split the game always between ruling party and opposition. so when unsatisfied ppl would switch to the opposition the next election. but this time, they have nobody in the opposition. we have already seen what happens next in the weimar republic. in the last election before hitler took over, nsdap and communists had around 7-10% of the vote per party. all the establishment parties neither had the majority themself to form a goverment but all refused to make a coalition with nsdap or communists as weaker partner to form a goverment. they did what france did and formed a big coalition that wasnt able to effective rule and only the communists and nsdap as opposition. the next election nsdap got over 30% of the vote, making it one of the stronger parties being able to form a coalition where they controlled all the key positions.

@@jitblues Frankly, this election actually made more sense for a European nation, even if Europe is still destine for decline economically due to new competing trade routes. Europeans are done with new immigrants and refugees, but Le Pen said she'll take in more Palestinians to allow Israel to keep doing what they are in Gaza. The French may have seen this cause and effect from Israel and the US regarding West Asia, responding accordingly. If so, it was a very smart move regarding political autonomy. They need to get as far from US and Israel as humanly possible, as they've already become too much of rogue crusaders. Again, this doesn't change the long-term trend coming for Europe and the broader West due to trade routes shifting towards the belt and road, as well as the broad budget and trade deficits that have been constantly rising for decades (Trump broke the recent record in 2019 with 3 TRILLION budget deficit). The West is simply in big trouble long term.

You can't be more wrong than that, if you followed this election, an increasing part of establishment was supporting le Pen. CNEWS, the biggest TV channel on this country, is as steadfast pro-RN that you can imagine. MEDEF ( the cartel of businesses ) applauded le Pen for her " vision" towards economy, that is, not threatening the status quo, at all. Of course this doesn't stick to your narrative, I know.

@dave8767 You must be American or just ignorant. The French electoral ecosystem for all its flaws doesn't work like in the US or the UK, you have more than 2 relevant parties and it's close enough to a direct democracy, it's just that the mediation control and the politicians are quite amoral ... The fact that anyone outside of France thinks that Le Pen is antiglobalist and competent is risible. French voters know what they would get with the NR, a bunch of chaotic nincompoops, just like within Sweden or the Netherlands's current government. The Duran duo love all these populists as if they are some kind of political geniuses or genuine statesmen, I like them better when they stick to reporting geopolitical events and provide an audience to truly distinguished guests(most of the time) ...

Only it's not a ridiculous label. These parties base themselves on ultra nationalism and racism and pose a real threat to the ordinary working class people of France. All they offer is gaslighting scapegoating, austerity, unfunded tax cuts for the rich and empty promises to ordinary people. Thats how populism works. Nothing mentioned here about the program put forward by the left coalition and thats what people voted for. The biggest turn out, in the second round, in twenty years.

You're correct about the use of "far right" -- but the Globalists actually like right wing parties, because they absorb a lot of public anger and channel it into a political movement that is relentlessly pro-capitalist and anti-big-government, and will therefore never try to regulate their activities in any meaningful way. They correctly believe this is much safer for them than allowing any genuine left wing (ie anti-capitalist) alternatives to take root.

I watch Alexander's videos regularly and really like his analysis on Ukraine. But where it comes to his comments on other events it's more of a mixed bag. First of all, I don't understand why people in the west use the term "globalism". It's called IMPERIALISM. People have known that for a long time. There's no need to invent new words to describe te excact same phenomenon. Sometimes I think some people don't want to use the term only because Marxist-Leninists used it to describe policies of global hegemony. But here is the more important part. I share criticism of Macron and his policies. He is certanly a US lap dog. I would never even consider voting for him. That being said, Le Pen would be no better. Le Pen is a fraud, much like Meloni is a fraud. Like Farage is a fraud. Promising people to stop immigration but it won't happen because corporations want the cheap labour and these politicians serve corporate interests. Promising to stop supporting Banderites in Ukraine and then turning back on that promise. Le Pen will not save France. Neither will Melenchon or Macron. They are all deeply flawed. Le Pen if and when she finally wins, maybe in the next elections, will turn out to be the obedient servant of the US empire, just like Macron, Meloni, Sunak, Starmer, Scholz...no different.

What this actually shows is that Le Pen has probably reached her maximum level of support. She, and Macron, were thoroughly out maneuvered by Melenchon. While the left will not be able to govern effectively for now it does show the French public that the left behind Melenchon is a formidable political force. And this will be essential to winning the presidency in the next election.

It seems to me that viewers here are supportive of anyone who shouts immigrants and promises to strict migration. One needs to look at their policies in all areas. Richard's video highlights just that. Amongst NF candidates are many whose IQ is similar to ms Baerbeck's. That a few are neo Nazis should not be ignored. What we need is a new political movement, combing the fringe left and right. Today's labels are no longer relevant.

He calls Americans “Gringos”, refuses to speak good English (his Spanish is fluent), calls himself proudly anti American and has good relationships with most leftist movements in Latin America (AMLO received him and Correira came to his conferences etcetc…). Sorry but this is a big mistake. (Glucksman you’re right, but he hates Melenchon and didn’t accept Melenchon s leadership because he thinks he’s antisemitic. I am appalled by Western commentators' blind spot, or ignorance about the main reasons behind Africans' migration to France. Alexander loves Le Pen and Farage because he misses the old days of Western imperialism and subjugation of the savage hordes of the colonies. I don't watch him anymore as his blind spot of the absolute necessity for the colonised nations to fight for their land back is not on his radar. Putin gets it totally so why don't the Duran boys get it?

To stop Le Pen, "they've created chaos" --- as if Le Pen in the (non-absolute) majority would not have been chaos. The responsible thing would have been "to allow Le Pen to govern?" No one prevented her from persuading the voters to vote for her party. Having said that, great analysis overall. Lots of perceptive observations that no one else makes, yet perfectly true. (What's up with these other analysts? Why don't they know any of this history?)

Bonjour de France. That was a very nice coup by the french establishment. Since the birth of our Vth Republic, the party which wins the first round, with more than 30%, ALWAYS has the majority after the second round. For the first time, the losers of the first round put themselves together in order to steal the victory... So we have a country, where the political ideas from the right have never been so high, with probably a Prime minister from the left... Voters like me are furious about that. All the mass medias were against us, the football players, the unions, the artists... Better deadlock the country than a right wing bonapartist party... It was a big mistake. The votes will grow until 2027.

Just admit that RN is a group that has a solid base but many people also hate this group. And it is not by speakin only of immigration that they will change this image in a drastic manner.

The biggest difference between Syriza and the French Popular Front is that France is a much more powerful economy than Greece was. The main reason Syriza failed at governing is that the Germans and the Bundesbank demanded they implement draconian austerity in exchange for continuing to have access to the line of credit. This is all well-documented by Syriza's finance minister, Yanis Varoufakis, who was not a particularly good politician, but who remains one of the greatest intellectuals in Europe. It is hard to imagine that the same play can be recapitulated here. France is not Greece, and 2024 is not 2014. This doesn't mean that the FP won't fall on its face, but the parallel with Syriza is a bit misleading.

They won nothing. Macron won. He is exaclty at the center. No law can be passed without his group's agreement, neither from the right or the left. As for the governement, Macron may choose someone from the right (only a RN + NFP alliance would be able to deny him this possibility) or most certainly choose someone like Glucksman as prime minister. Glucksman is a 100% match with Macron. LFI would only have minor ministers in this configuration that they cannot really refuse (otherwise, they will have nothing). And by the way RN also has ideas compatible with Macron (only RN elector think RN is a game changer). French policy is locked from the start and little groups have been erased in this election.

You both need more experience with Canadian politics. The current Liberal government has a working deal with the NDP and these two parties f***ing hate each others more then the conservatives, yet they still horse trade and work together in a minority parliament, without an actual coalition. These kind of arrangements are actually more productive then safe majority government. Applying this experience to France's current Parliament the Popular Front can get alot more done then one would expect via horse trading instead of coalition with more accountablity to go with it.

As a French I commend your excellent understanding of French politics. The reason why Melenchon wont make an alliance with Le Pen like the Communists did with De Gaulle is because he is controlled opposition. Yet his little leftie comrades want to show Melenchon the exit because he never was strongly against Russia and is not a big friend of what is going on in Gaza either.

Why exactly should 'they' have just 'let Le Pen's Party govern', Alex? More than two-thirds of the French people did not vote for her. Should France adopt the British system?? Frankly, Le Pen didn't help herself by *refusing to govern* in any Coalition, even if her Party came first, unless she had an absolute Majority - something probably *impossible* to achieve in French politics ever again! (Macron may previously have been the largest Party, but did not have a Majority since 2022 either.) And it's important to remember that Le Pen herself would NOT have become Prime Minister in any event - that would have been Jordan Bardella, a *28-year-old with NO experience* (other than as an MEP - he's not even a Member of the French Parliament!)... who just happens to be dating Marine Le Pen's Niece! The French hate Nepotism more than most.
