Whenever I see one of these devices, which come pre-loaded with games for the PSP, I can't help wondering if they just grabbed commonly available ISO images off the net and plopped them on the drive, or if they went to the trouble of checking them against a list of known bad dumps, and then applied the patches from the various fix packs.

I've been working my own Steam Deck retro collection with Emudeck/EmulationStation for over a year now. At some points I thought I was going to go blind looking at all the roms and sorting them, but now I have a system where everything on each system works and no duplicates. These systems slapped together have no love behind them, well that's my thoughts anyway.

@xenorac I feel that. A few years ago I bought a fully loaded Raspberry pi4 off Amazon. I kind of liked the build but it came with like over 160,000 games or some shit. I don't remember the exact bloated number but it attracted me at first. Since then I've learned how to do alot of cool stuff on my own. And for awhile there I would only dl a ps rom one at a time so I could relive that feeling of the first proper experience. Yeah no love is put into these types of "builds". Happy New Year my brother.

@@Boogie_the_cat Well the ones I have were $100 and $120. The Kinhank Super Console X3 literally plays pretty much everything from Dreamcast and back perfectly. Even though the $600 may be a bit steep I'd like to assume that version would run games quite well in the next generation of systems. I will say. You would get more bang for your buck out of this system than pretty much anything else around. Literally, even a lifetime would not be enough to get through all the good games. Let alone everything else. And then you don't have to do the work to set it all up. Other than throwing on some games that may be missing from the lineup and messing around with some settings.

@@Boogie_the_catwell, you got to ask yourself: is it worth $600 to you and for your enjoyment. I bought a emulator console last year for about $200. Yes, it's got a bunch of stuff on it that I'll never play but there's so many games on there that I do play. Not only that, all the best games from each console are on there so if I'm watching a review on a certain game, I can just turn it on and go right into that game and get the experience. I went in and added all the best games from each console to my favorites list so I don't have to scroll through all the junk. When I go back and remember what these games cost when they came out, it was worth it to me. Would I spend $600 on this? Probably not only because there's a lot of games that I have no attachment to and I'll probably never play. The last console I got in high school was the Dreamcast and after that, I have no nostalgia attached to the newer games so I probably won't waste my time with them.

The mark of a good retro build for me is 1) Ideally not for profit...game preservation is one thing, profiteering off mass piracy is another. The only people who should make money off large scale retro gaming builds is the hard drive manufacturers. 2) Not bulking up with duplicates, hacks and regional varients. 3)Making sensible choices with 80s computer full ROM sets...6k C64 games? Really? 4) Not trying to make out that a single 8 disk game is 8 games. 5) Not taking the piss with current Gen gaming. The red flag for me is claims of 100k games on less than 1TB...anything more than about 30k games and I call bullshit.

As someone that builds preservation drives for sale, I agree but I do think people should be paid for their time. I spend time making sure each drive is hand-built ready to go. I don't do the copy and paste setup, it doesn't work and many things will go wrong. I spend at least 5 hours on each drive. The ONLY way this could have 100K with 1TB is a massive amount of MAME and other useless unplayable games.

The game system was shipped to me but it DID NOT have the i7 processor nor did it have all the game systems you reviews it has some older proc that is not compatible with windows 11 - ie. there was no ps3 or wii games, etc. Also it was running a very old build of windows 10 and an older build of the overall build (like from 2022). Why are you recommending this system if they are going to not provide the same system. DO NOT buy from this vendor.

500 bucks (or even 600 when the offer expires)..and i will probably need more and/or better extra controllers for it in a close future. What is the status for the different systems when it comes to lightguns, game guitars, move controllers etc. ?. What if i want to add on more games for the current installed emulators (in regard to difficulty level, integration of yet another hard drive etc.) ?. Am i, as a not skilled computer user, supposed to understand the many emulator settings ?. The brand of this computer is not something recognisable such as Acer, HP, Toshiba, MSI etc.-Is it likely that it still will work in 7-8 years from now ? (it´s a well known fact that the chinese certainly hasn´t the same ambition or know how in building higher grades of technology as their competitors from the free world. People who has Mao Zedong or other mass murderers/"freedom heroes" on billboards/posters, just can´t be trusted !. Especially not from a westerner´s consumer perspective). I´m not sure that five or six hundred bucks for this is a great idea. Cheap stuff around 100 dollars is of course not even close to something like the above.-But at least, it cheap !....

How can old games be in HD and 4K ? Is beyond me there are many lies behind all these all in one's consoles . Also many old games were in 4:3 screen ratio so if it's pulled to 16:9 there's already a problem and as sound wise it was only mono or be rare occasions basic stereo sound ( Dolly, THX , etc...didn't existed at all in video games in the 80's and mid-90's ) Yes it is great to have our fave old games and such but who will play them over and over ? answer is no one since it's only to try once and be already bored from it . Why i hate all the nostalgia/revival merchandising for the hype and which are way too expensive for a dubious quality biggest example the Records 12"'s and Turntables for a loosy quality and sound that isn't made for random people etc... there are already people that are selling their new collections because they need money to get food and such . I don't thank many youtubers because of them many so called vintage stuff has became way too expensive as many of them not own their stuff we see in their videos and are only in a vintage museum or a real collector ...many times i have seen the same room arranged differently for the next youtuber to do it's stuff . How can an 8-bit game run at the same everything as a Playstation 1 game or Playstation 2 or even Compuer games from 1990-1999 ? There is too much difference between every era something we cannot say today as video games since more than a decade offers nothing new anymore we have reached what the eyesight can see since there is a limit so making 8K - 16K or whatever television screens is pointless . It is time to face realism instead fake stuff like for example the DVD-player promised so many new cool features and such but 75% of it never got made ( multi-angle view , zone-free dvd's , fast easy access to a movie without commercials , etc... ) The VHS recorder still owns somehow in many aspects . We have advanced too fast in technologies where many of them wasn't needed for the common user at home for example 3-D tv screens more enjoyed in a theatre same as those curved tv's or that stupid 21:9 ratio screen which are all failed projects that only less than 1% of people has bought and doesn't own anymore today .

If you break it down - buy a mini PC, controller, two hard drives and then set it all up yourself what would that cost? Multiple days of time and at least $300? As mentioned in the video and above if you already have a computer then yeah build it yourself way cheaper.

I would just keep what I already got on laptop on retrobat got enough games already. But it's good what was shown. Ram seems low if you want retrobat with windows direct x assets.

The amount of duplicates, and rom hacks on this list are laughable! I could forgive the fact that it would have problems running xbox, and ps3 titles at 100% but did you say it can't run all N64 games without issue? This is the year 2024 for crying out loud! The whole "N64 games are hard to emulate" excuse shouldn't cut it anymore. I was surprised that xbox 360 wasn't on the list. Xenia is a nice light weight emulator that runs a lot of 360 games buttery smooth! They call everything a plug n play these days. My desktop can plug right into my tv via hdmi too; is that a plug n play also? All this is, is a mediocre pc with a bunch of emulators installed on it and a huge list of games (with most of them being repeats, hacks, and every language known to man just to bloat the number of games you are getting).

thats not plug and play because you have to download emulaters, roms, bios and set it all up, this is litterally plug it in and start playing 100,000+ Games

It's a no from me. 6000 C64 games? There's only about 20 that are worth playing. Just making up the numbers.

ahahahahahah, omg this is shit.....120000 games? if its like apple II 1500 games then do i need to say more 🤣😂🤣 i wonder how many systems and games i have so far then, if you count everything and anything....because for example atari 2600 has 2687 games in 5mb, nes has 2700 games in 250mb, genesis has 1700 games in 1gb...etc....so that's like 7000 games in 1gb 🤣😂

600 dollars for 2T? Is that what this is going for? No effing way! People I just got a 12T external hard drive off of Amazon including tax for 322.00. it's called the hyper spin attraction system. You can see what's on it by watching tech dweebs video from a couple days ago.

The most play you will get from machines like this is searching for 120k game list, the best emulation you want, so dat will take about an hour each time you turn this on, by the time you found a game to play you will be tired, play for 10 minutes turn it off go wank again
