The gears are beautiful but a headache if your not familiar with it especially the gear with a spring loaded tension in the center.... And the balance shaft is known to fail....

Roughtrax here in the UK have loads for gen 3 hilux surfs and give you the part numbers for comparison too That gen 3 has the pre heater on the fuel filter so you can run veg oil instead of diesel Had my gen2 1kzn for 13 years now still love it

The pump you pointed out at the start is an air pump and the lines go up to your 4wd actuators the pump behind that is you power steering , the timing is adjusted by moving the injector pump behind the cover is a timing make and on the injector pump If you put a snorkel on later keep the air box and snorkel connects to the intake that goes in through the front guard Hope that helps at all just finished rebuilding my 1kz in my surf

Hey thinking of buying a Surf here and skeptical on where to get parts that fit AND OEM. Would you share the website where you got the parts from??

Add thermostat and viscous fan to your list, and clearing radiator of debris that’s the main reason these heads go to shit, lazy thermostat combined with a viscous fan clutch that doesn’t engage at temp, that overheats and cracks the head, don’t change injectors, if there are not broke don’t fix them, I’ve bought new replacements before and the truck ran like shit, use some injector cleaner
