    I seem to do pretty well when painting with acrylics but with oils it’s a different story. I’m thinking it’s the pressure so this is a great tip to try.

    This is the tip I needed. Question though, I am left handed. As a lefty, I’ve noticed I naturally hold my pencil tighter, we have to as we push into the paper rather than pull out of it. I wonder if that is a factor here. Any lefty’s out here have an palette knife tips?

  • @WildCreates

    @WildCreates

    Surprisingly no you just have to flip the technique to match your left hand. Everything else will remain the same. You will find as a lefty that putting your highlight (AKA your snow) on the left side of your mountain will be more natural for you. I have a full mountain breakdown video that I really recommend you check out. It will blow your mind. I will link it below. If you like it... be sure to give it a thumb's up and comment. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m5WArqyrm8_Nkrg.html&t

    Another reason is that there's too thick of a paint layer down on the canvas. This will cause it to smooth too much. Use the knife to scrape away a majority of the paint in the mountain so that just a pigment residue is left, and try it again!

  • @WildCreates

    yeah scrap away and use a blue shop towel is my go to for perfect mountains. I show how I do it in this video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m5WArqyrm8_Nkrg.html

    I'm holding it right. I'm having to firm my paint on card board though lol any other reasons that the paint doesn't go on the same as yours? Could it be too firm? Or is there no such thing when talking about paint

    How about just use a brush. Looks way more natural that way. You don’t HAVE to use a knife 😊

  • @WildCreates

    @WildCreates

    Жыл бұрын

    You can use a brush BUT like I say in the very beginning of the video. If you are trying to paint like Bob Ross. BR uses a knife not a brush 99% of the time.

    If the paint is still wet try this: kzread.infoHUqoSGu3z8U You might be able to salvage your canvas and use it again.
