The german Band "Kraftwerk" created the first electronic music in the 70's. A long time before New Order. Search for "Kraftwerk". You will find easy here on YT

I was 13 when this song dropped in 1983 but I believe I didn’t really hear it until I was 15 or 16. What a decade to be a teenager. Loved New Order. They still sound great!!

Of course that was during the 1970s and everyone I knew was high on drugs......I mean high on life!......um..yeah 1983...thats when this came out......Ok I'm leaving now. Thanks Dan and uh.....Steve

I was 24 following Joy Division in 1979-80 and I continued through the New Order Days. Going to see them in Toronto on Sept. 17th with the Pet Shop Boys. Can't wait.

Iconic!!! After all these years, it's still timeless!

I was in a disco one evening whilst on holiday in Spain. I was on leave from Saudi Arabia. There was a beautifully tall Spanish girl dancing to this song on the dance floor! She was a fantastic mover! I couldn't believe how good it all became! Never forget this!

My love and appreciation of this song has increased over the years. New Order... soundtrack of my youth. Thank you!

you can probably also see Peter Hook & the Light for a cheaper, in a more intimate venue, probably just as good a show. Whether he's in New Order or not, seeing all the original members (him, Bernard, Gillian and Stephen) play live is on my bucket list.

Every time I hear this song, I feel fine I feel good, makes me feel like I never should.! I remember buying all their albums & 12" singles back in the day. I think I was about 14 when this song came. out. Really awesome performance here. They still got it. What an absolutely bizarre love triangle we fans have with New Order. 🥰🙏

Techno was born in early 80's thanks to New Order, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Heaven 17 ect.... I'm 40 been a techno dj and lover for over 25 years..

Bernard texted me right after this gig, he was very happy and telling me about how great the audience was, and how good the show was. Watching this and other clips from the concert, I can see why. Man, I really miss live gigs.

I was born in 1971, grew up in the 80's, so I listened to a broad variety of music. I loved the hair bands. Motley Crue, Metallica, etc. But I really love Blue Monday by New Order, the beat is awesome. I graduated in 1990.

Unforgetable song. Bernard is losing his voice, but no matter, is always nice to see him sing... and the band performance is fantastic. We saw then in 1988 in Brazil and they come again in 2019.... Regards from Brazil.

I don't think Bernard ever really had a good singing voice, but this sounds much better than usual; he knows how to mask his limitations with a more stylized delivery now.

The myth behind the song (according to Bernard) being the original studio version was accidentally lost/deleted. It was far superior. Can you imagine. So I guess this is the re-imagined version. Still epic and timeless.

Apparently it was to do with the drum beat. They originally "borrowed" it from Donna Summer then Steve apparently kicked the mains lead out of the drum machine which meant it dumped everything an had to angrily rewrite it. That's what Hooky said anyway.

Heard this at the beach in 1983 for the first time and it's still after 40 years a great song. I do still have the 12 inch (the floppy disk) on vinyl, with on the A-side Blue Monday and on the B-side The Beach. Time flies.

This song was so ahead of its time. It set the standard for those that followed. Magical times. ❤

It blows my mind that in the span of 2,3 years they completely overhauled their sound. Joy Division and New Order are so different sounding. The flip is mind boggling. Very impressive.
