I am from India and I am on a student visa here. To come to Germany, I had to show my blocked account, my accommodation contract, my university contract, my previous education, loads of rejections, etc. and after coming here, I am currently learning B1 german ALONG with my university (which is completely in English) doing a werkstudent job so I can support myself and give back to the country via taxes and I am grateful that I am getting such quality education with such a little cost. However, where I live, there are people who just don't do anything. LIKE literally, nothing. Their women are out sitting on the street doing no jobs, and their children out on the street all day, and I wonder if they had they same criteria to come to Germany as me. (obviously not) it's complete madness. Also, one of the people I know, I agree has escaped a warzone and life was hard initially, but she is here since 8 years now, has a german passport and the only work she has done till now is work a couple of minijobs, because sHe DoEsN't HaVe to because the government gives her money every month. EVEN AFTER 8 YEARS OF COMING HERE?! Ridiculous.. Call me racist or whatever, but I am against anybody who is a freeloader, because I know that the taxes that I will pay on my blue card visa will also benefit people who absolutely don't deserve it.

Angela Merkel welcomed all those migrants in 2015 and this has caused all sorts of problems. One of these was Brexit as the UK wanted to control their borders even though this has not proved to be the case but all those migrants coming in had an impact in the voting. Unless the EU gets control of their borders it could cause other countries to leave the EU. There are just too many migrants coming in and it is starting to cause instability and more countries are supporting more right wing parties.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea. 1. Charities, communes, families who want unskilled labour, and businesses are there too 2. Criminal gangs are sometimes pretty economically productive 3. I legally emigrated from Germany to Canada. My wife legally emigrated from Guatemala to Canada. Neither of us has any sympathy for people who do so illegally. Either come legally or not at all. I live in Turkey and I want Syrian Arabs living in our country to go to Europe, especially America, Italy, Germany and France. Europe is a rich and secure region. Syrian Arab immigrants in our country are already constantly traveling to Europe via the Mediterranean and the Greek-Bulgarian border. Hopefully we will send all Syrians to Europe as soon as possible. Turkey is not a country suitable for immigrants because there is no freedom here and human rights are violated. We will send all immigrants to Europe. Europe and America are richer and safer There is inflation in Türkiye. Europeans love immigrants and help them a lot. go to Europe and live well

@@gfys756 Nope, not true and very naive. At least in Germany there is a massive lack of housing. If you want to rent an affordable tiny flat or even a room in a share house you´ll compete with hundreds of others, espacially in the bigger cities. Buying a place is completely out of reach for the vast majority of people. So no, you won´t be given a flat or house upon arrival. A bed in a dorm with 5 others or so is more realistic. And health care isn´t free either, you pay around 15% of your gross income for health insurance. Education is paid for by taxes and uni is rather cheap, but not for free.

As a high skilled migrant myself from a father who is a doctor who has also migrated years ago, you have to agree that borders need more control. it's for economical and practical reasons. Even migrants dont expect Europe to just open its arms and take them in, but a lot of them are desperate and they see it as worth the try. But it shouldn't be considered "inhumane" or "selfish" that developed countries want to control their borders. We have borders for a reason. Unfortunately with current technology and fast mobility the migration numbers have increased to a point it's not feasible anymore and it's not good for anyone.

private health insurance in germany is a trap for those who stay here when they're old. they get you with super low rates while you're still young, a tiny fraction of what you'd pay in the pseudo-public option. but then when you get old, you find the contribution rates skyrocketing, and you discover that you have no way of switching back into the then much cheaper pseudo-public option unless you complete a year of full-time employment first.

It's really frightening how they put migration and asylum seeking equal - it's not the same!

Its a running joke in India about the amount of documents needed for traveling to Europe even as a tourist. We even need to submit our income tax returns, bank statements for past 3-5 years. Overall, the documents for a simple tourist visa bundles up to more than 200 pages. Meanwhile, for someone to seek asylum and permanently become part of German populace, all you need is to cross over illegally.

Many require help from lawyers, extensive interviews, tonnes of paperwork & years of long drawn out court proceedings. Nothing close to you applying for tourist visa. This process is happening in Canada as well. Public support for decreasing immigration is now above 50%. It is an economic issue here, less cultural or ethnic. There is simply not enough housing and transportation infrastructure to accommodate everyone without housing and rent costs skyrocketing. Which is happening. A one bedroom apartment in Toronto now costs over $2000 a month. Politicians talk about supply, but not demand from immigration induced population growth. Meh... it is what it is.

Germany, if you need workers, there's a lot who would love to work in Germany. Educated, even at B1 level German before entering the country, and you don't have to provide any financial assistance to them. germany is a country where conflicts are mostly solved by words, where physical conflicts are mostly solved without serious injuries, where possessions of others are mostly respected and where women are mostly respected. in some other countries, this does not seem to be the case, or not the case among the subgroups who leave them. and it makes sense - if these countries were safe, there would be little reason to leave them. the general fear that a country can irreversibly change for the worse is to be taken seriously. criminal statistics have to be analyzed very carefully. risk profiles for countries have to be established. the higher the risk, the harsher the restrictions. unfortunate for those who have done nothing wrong personally but there are many other ways to help their home countries change their circumstances for the better and those other options should be prioritized.

They should allow only high skilled migration like Canada does, engineers, doctors etc without which country would collapse. Anyone else coming to chill and receive benefits from our taxes should be stopped from entering.

Europeans were never asked

I have a feeling European cities will be less enchanting when they begin to look like Detroit, Cleveland, and San Francisco.

As a German American I have NO issue with 100% legal Immergration. The problem here is 99.99999% of todays Immergrants are 100% illegal, and they don't give two shots about our laws, or customs. Worst of all they have no intention to ever do so. They are truning Germany, and by proxy the rest of Europe into a shithole. Say what you will about the Mexicans, they still have two things in their favor. 1: They follow a Judo-Christion doctrine, along with most Europeans. It wouldn't be so bad if they gave them something to do in return for the hand outs. We're short of hand workers and lots of other workers here in Germany and yet the asylum seekers are only hanging around doung nothing.

Faeser isn't fit for the job. She's just saying what people want tp hear but not actually working on the problem. Voters from Hessen downvoted her for minister president, she should take note and step down as interior minister too.

Brussels have a limited time to get a grip on this. They have wasted years. I highly doubt the EU will exist in a decade if this continues.

This time I will vote AfD. Enough is enough. Before I was even afraid to say the name AfD, but now the country is getting to a point of no return. If we dont stop now, it will be over...

This is the reason why the UK left the EU; refugees are tearing the EU apart but it’s an elite level project, average people don’t want them. The EU needs to secure its borders, ports, and airports and allow only educated and skills based immigrants as refugees cost on average more to the host countries in the long term whereas educated immigrants contribute!

If educated immigrants take all the good jobs local people will be doing minimum wage jobs. Over a period of time locals will become poor.

⁠@@supernova8709the UK fills skills gaps with immigrants. The government knows what their labour force should look like over the next decade and that’s where the education/industry strategy comes in. If they miss their targets they will get immigrants in, this has always been the case

Close all boarders to all but those carrying legal documents and/or permission. Stop being cowards.

I'm sorry that Germans feel this way but us Brits have been trying to warn the EU for years about this and it is the most common thing that caused Brexit, immigration. Maybe now mainland Europeans will see why we wanted out and whilst Germany is still the biggest economy in the EU, the bureaucrats in in Brussels will never let you go

Unfortunately I live near Berlin and even in smaller areas we have a lot of immigrants . I do think people who think it is ok are living where no immigrants are seen in daily life. So far all and I stress all immigrants who visibly were employed for a year at doctors in restaurant services are leaving after some months or looking for unemployment money.

For me the biggest Problems in Germany are : 1. Inflation 2. AI 3. Refuges

Immigrants are coming there just for state benefits on the backs of the working European population. Germany and France must stop the madness ! Europe can”t take in all Africa. There is not enough room and resources. They should understand that a civil war is coming if the immigration isn”t stopped.

The Germans welcomed the refugees with gifts and cheers in 2015. The refugees thanked them in their own way....!!! Or why do you think the mood changed????

You don't have to ask "experts" what's what. Mass migration from Africa with people who despise the Western lifestyle and culture along with political parties that, in the long run, squander the entire wealth of the country. What could go wrong? In many german towns/cities, life has changed massively in a negative way in the last 10 years and it is getting worse every year. While certain people live off the social system and exploit it, someone who works has to give away almost 50% of his income. People of all ages, even children, are harassed. Rescue workers and firefighters are attacked and the social climate on the streets is getting worse and worse. This does not work well in the long run.

just hilarious that Germany, ten years too late, is realizing the whole Schengen idea is plain nuts. what do you expect if you let another country control who gets into Germany?

Schengen is perfectly fine. The outer borders have to be controlled as a joint effort

Some people are just very slow on the uptake.

I think that there is something wrong with presented statistics. What is the probability that people answer different questions about different issues and the results reach exactly the same ratio: 64 to 27...?
