Great video. Thanks for doing a sound test, and looking forward to the rest of your vids! Also, I'm curious how have you been digging the microphone after a month?! Cheers!!!

Thanks so much man! Honestly, I love this mic. So so much, though I will say it is not worth it in isolation. The gain settings are limiting, but I ended up picking up a TX-6, and the combo is a match made in heaven. Granular gain controls on the TX-6 solve all concerns with the mic. I’ll upload another video next week with some more audio tests, and chat through my experience over the last month. I get the gear is expensive AF, but it brings me genuine happiness every time I use it :)

@@TechFuegoso what you’re saying is that it’s not worth only having the mic? Because of the limited gain? But it sounds great and is worth it if I plan to use it with my Apollo twin x and the audience Evo 4 when I’m traveling?

@@DYNNIwav yo sorry for the delay - with an Apollo (or any audio interface) I think you’ll be set since you can control gains through there. I think for people looking for exclusively a USB mic, this thing is prob overkill. The quality is legit tho, I still use it daily

Hmmm. Not sure you were hearing back how that sounded on the test. Looks cool though.

Just keep an eye on your meters in OBS. Make sure its not peaking in the red Im currently testing the CM-15 myself. The lack of gain control is a challenge. I was hoping I can use this mic to record songs without an interface or or amp but it may be better suited in combination with an interface. There's just something about the mic that doesn't feel full and 3D - something that im just used to with a TLM 103 + an interface. UPDATE: Testing the CM-15 with a Zoom H8 and YES - gain control + mic placement and performer proximity to the mic is KEY. @@TechFuego

@@mikesick4793 ahh yeah that might be it. I too was hoping it wouldn’t need an audio interface, the portability of it was a big reason I picked up the kit, but like you said it just doesn’t feel full. I’ve chatted with a few other folks on Reddit and KZread and it sounds like paired with a TX-6 people are getting good performance… but damn… another 1200$ for that 😅

@@mikesick4793so the mic is nice if you actually use it with a good audio interface like a normal mic? I really wanna buy this as my main mic for recording voiceovers and singing. I have an Apollo twin x and audient evo 4 for traveling. I just love the sound of this mic. It’s so full and yet have a nice amount of treble.

Why spend $1300 on a mic when you clearly know nothing about how to use one?! 🤦‍♂️

The real question is why spend $1300 on a mic, when it from a BS boutique brand for hipsters, and you can get better quality with a $300 mic from a real microphone brand
