What can I say? I love my people, I love my culture. I am a proud Yoruba, and Nigerian.

I just don't get the reasons why our Yoruba towns and cities still look dour and dull in this day and age. Be they, Oyo, Ikare, Ondo, or Ore, a main physical feature that dominates the skyline of most of the towns and cities is rusty aluminium roofs. In 1974, I had the unique privilege of being part of the colourful Igogo Festival during the reign of Oba Ogunoye, a progenitor of the current Oba. Since that August occasion, not much is different. What on earth have successive state governors of these historic towns and cities done with all the billions of naira set aside for housing development?
