I am lucky too Diane - have the original Australian pressed vinyl LPs and treasure them

KOOL ELVIS PRESLEY IM RELATED TO HIM.

They issued many of these expanded versions twice. First time with bonus tracks interspersed, second time with bonus tracks tagged on the end. For example the debut album expanded first came out in 1999. Then again in 2005 mastered by Kevan Budd.

The sound quality on the re-releases is fabulous !

A fantastic collection of releases and I must say they sound great. Special mention to Promised Land. The sound on those songs are just brilliant and my go to CD when I want to hear December73 Stax tracks. Thanks Ed!

All of the tracks on that particular Promised Land cd 4:33 were remixed with fantastic sound.

All those cds from the "artist of the century " area (1997-about 2005) are great.

Find the original 1984 cd of Volume 5 (with 10 tracks) and purchase that one. It has much better sound quality than the one re-released in 1997.

These were pretty good releases from the time. Good re re re re releases with some unique remixing and mastering. As someone else mentioned Promised Land is very well mixed with instruments buried in the original mix now audible. On Stage is the opposite with audience and chat etc mixed out . Getting ready for the next mix of mixes on the new Memphis set coming soon 😂

I have all of the ones you showed except From Elvis In Memphis. I picked up most of them in charity shops including Elvis by the Presleys which I also picked up in a charity shop. I love cd hunting in charity shops.

The expanded Promised Land is the BEST sounding of this material ever. The excessive reverb is removed. It is similar to the mastering on the 70s box set.

Hands down. Dennis Ferrante worked his magic on the Stax material. 😊

If you want the best Kentucky Rain edit, get the original 1984 CD of Gold Records vol 5. It also has unique mixes on a few other songs. If you want the best edit of I've Lost You, get Heart and Soul, either the original 1995 or the 2002 reissue. But the 1995 has a stereo version of Love Me Tender not so with the 2002 reissue (even though the back cover still suggests it is in stereo)

Yes, but the only drawback on that particular MOODY BLUE cd 4:53 is that "Let Me Be There" was omitted from the track list.

I forgot to mention on Elvis s first album The bonus tracks come first on others last.

Take a listen of the promised land it's the best one out there the mix is brilliant

Have you got the reissued cd's of the first and second albums that mixed the bonus tracks throughout the cd instead of putting them all at the end.

Ed, please tell me if these are all redone by the same company. I would like to get especially the 1st ones. Thank you Ed or anyone with any tips about these CD'S.
