I love these 2 strokes I have them on my tractor trailer, and boy are they bright! They light up the road at night with awesome color 👍 Always love the music selection you guys use very relaxing

Can you do a comparison in a regular halogen housing? Im running 55w HID's in my 95 Impreza, but would love to upgrade to LED due to the warm up time of the HID in -40*F here in Alaska. Thanks!

What about in reflector housings, like my Tahoe? Is the beam pattern maintained and do they have distance? Led bulbs in the past just produced a bunch of light near the truck and blinded on-coming traffic. I am interested in them if they are an improvement over my Silverstar Ultras that work well and have reach. I might also be interested in a retrofitting a projector lens if it is reasonably priced and well made, but most people end up taking them back off, due to poor quality in all aspects. Thank you

Hi - Do the Morimoto 2.0's (H7) rotate? I've heard the chips need to be facing sideways, but my Mx-5's projector housing has the tab at an angle. I just put in Hikari's which rotate and it seems to make a difference. Thx

Great video as always. Is there anyway you can test these in one or more reflector based high beams? I am interested in buying the 9005 high beam bulb in either the Morimoto 2.0 or Diode Dynamics, and am curious to see if these bulbs are actually able to throw a high beam down the road, or just explode light out everywhere like a lot of current LEDs do in reflector based systems.

Definitely Patrick! we will do a more in depth test when actual inventory comes in, in about 10 days. We should have also compared to normal halogen bulbs too which we failed to do in this video

I just ordered the 2 stroke 2.0 from you guys. Installing in the fog lights of my 2018 Ford Focus ST. What should the bulb orientation be when installed ? do I want the chips face up and down or left and right ?

Is there anyway to change the orientation? I recently purchased the h7 2stroke 2.0 for my 06 legacy gt and as far as I can tell there’s no way to adjust them. It seems like my passenger side headlight is out of focus compared to my drivers side.

Was looking to put these in as low beams for my 2007 328xi sedan in order to replace the halogens. Is there any extra hardware required?

The Peak is very good, but the new 2Stroke 2.0 is better with their Lumileds Z ES chips. It will fit your Civic SI perfectly, for sure

How will these bulbs do in a non projector housing? Still recommend using them?

drumrboy80 I use the DD SL1 in my 08 Civic and 05 Scion tC both with OEM halogen reflector housings. Works phenomenal. Not sure about the Morimoto 2.0. would've gotten them but they just came out.. so maybe I'll try then when they go out. Lol Both say they work with reflector housings tho.

Do you know if these will work for a mk6 VW Jetta with reflector housings?

Good question, while we do have the right size for your Jetta, we're not 100% sure if it needs some kind of special adapters to mount the bulbs.

Just curious, I’ve got a 2017 Focus ST, and there are some rubber caps that go over the socket holes on the backside of the headlight. Will this new version fit inside the housing without any issues, or would I need to keep that cover off? Thanks in advance!

Yes, these are VERY compact and should fit inside of your housings without any housing cap extensions

LED's do dim with heat, unlike halogen.. since you have the ST1 with halogen it sounds like, just leave the rear rubber caps off like I do on my '17 FiST, you won't get water or anything up into the actual housing anyway.

Why does the beam pattern of the LEDs feel so distorted? All these shadows at the bottom of the beam. Imo, Led beam pattern is much much inferior to that of HIDs.

Because that's how ANY bulb in that particular housing gets distorted, it's the housing NOT the bulb... HID's have projector housings, that's why they are usually cleaner, but these can actually be used in halogen reflector housing as an alternative to retrofitting projectors that is often times a PIA custom thing.

I have a 2015 Honda Civic Sedan. Headlight housing and bulbs are stock. How does the Morimoto 2.0 stack up?

The Morimoto 2Stroke is an awesome option in your Civic, I highly recommend it.

You should've used the incandescent bulb first followed by the LED's bulbs. Thanks for the video anyways

so if the LED lights are similar to that of a Halogen, and HID should be better than a Halogen, what is the benefit of switching to the LED from say a HID... Also just a thought what would happen if the LED chip is placed on the top/front as opposed to the sides so that the LED is pointing outwards and not up and down in the projector. (just a thought)

The position of the LED chips is optimized to mimic the output of a halogen bulb as closely as possible, since what's what the original optics were designed around. LED out lasts halogen, has a more attractive, white color temperature, instant-on, little wiring, etc. Many benefits!

Are there any high-powered LED options in the works for reverse light bulbs? Like 1157 to be more specific?

9007 2stroke LED light pattern in the OEM 2017 Nissan Frontier headlamp is actually sharper/better cutoff than the oem style halogen bulb. Unfortunately, the morimoto aluminum casting for the 907 socket is configured incorrectly and doesn't fit into the headlamp unless modified with a dremel grinder. Very disappointed with morimoto quality control!

So this will work in projector head light housing?

It's still going strong. I know some updates were made to the SL1 but in our testing it really hasn't changed much as far as brightness goes.

Can I use them instead of hid bulbs in the mini h1 7.0 projectors?

My thoughts as well. Clear lens swap and compare the lux before and after. Although the target pnp customer wouldn't be pulling the headlight apart to do that.

I ordered a pair for high beam 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, low beam I have hid h11 Morimoto 6500 k , hopefully this leds beam pattern is good , cus I’m sick of amazon leds which their beam pattern it’s junk ,so they should be here Saturday October 6 time will tell when I install them

H11 beamtech on amazon is great, clean cut off line, decent brightness, passive cooling, no humming fans, although I'm curious to try these if the $120 price is justified vs $36

I do like them so far I have them on high beam and they seem to be good choice , the beam pattern is okay and way better than some aftermarket ones

Are this Led dimmable?? I have a vw and i want to use this for my cornering lights and when turning right or left the light fade in or out and usually using this with china led they flicker when fade out

Make them fanless and small ( because of limited space in the headlight ) as they only work when turning below 50 Km/h or going on reversed so basically it turns on for seconds or a minute tops . Many VAG users are looking for this kind of bulbs

You can't use a Bi-Led on a projector. Projectors wants monoled. Bi-led are for reflectors. The problem is that Morimoto doesn't do Monoled. In Italy we have a company that makes and sells monoled kit and it's very very similar to HID

At the moment, There are no DOT approved LED bulbs on the market. That being said, As long as they are aimed properly and not blinding oncoming traffic you shouldn't have any trouble.

The Diode Dynamics and 2Stroke 2.0 bulbs both produce a beam pattern that's nearly identical to the original halogen bulb

So not much difference between 2.0 stroke and sl1 but the sl1 is 50 dollars cheaper

You must be a 40 year old gamer living in Mommy an Daddies basement! This is what is called a typical work day in a shop! Nobody gives a shit about filming a video when they have actual work to get done. Honestly, this is pretty damn quiet for a shop if you ask me. Im used to ppl yelling over power tools and the sound of metal banging on metal. With all that said, you must also have ADD if the only thing you got outta this video was a guy in the background!
