New Minimalist Wallet / Notebook EDC

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

My friend Alex sent me his new minimalist wallet / notebook combination for me to try out and share. I don't typically do product reviews like this (in fact I never have before) but this was a fun thing that felt appropriate for the channel. Check out the kickstarter here: goo.gl/WyyvT2

After hearing about these books, I immediately kickstarted the project. As a minimalist, I carry 3 cards (debit, transport and ID) and my house key in my back pocket. But I also have a notebook on me at all times to keep track of to-do lists and habit-tracking, it helps my ADD immensely. So, for me, this is the most perfect invention. It all fits in my back pocket. Hopefully now I can get my friends to shut up about me needing a wallet for my cards :P

This looks really neat. I usually carry a notebook with me, so this'd be a nice way to carry one less item. Then again, there's the wrinkle of effectively buying a new wallet every time you fill up a notebook.

I wouldn't call the wrapping recyclable. Minimalist wallets these days are quite expensive, so unless the note paper is refillable it's most likely not worth getting in the short term range of use.

i use a bigskinny cardholder daily so that makes me curious how the joey compares. love that trees are getting planted (where & what variety??)! but what pens are these CRbrand wallets supposed to go with? why is there no pen loop?

Almost perfect notebook wallet carry. If it could incorporate a pen somehow it'd be perfect.

I'd be totally sold if they hadn't shipped in the plastic sleeve. I'm still going to think about it since as a minimalist and professional journalist this would be awesome.

Alexander Pagliere All good things. My thoughts: The single use plastic bag just seems kind of exactly the opposite of the rest of the project. Here you've got this lovely eco friendly wallet, and then boom, plastic. It makes it look like the choice in materials was to just be trendy. I have, however, backed the project, because the overall design and principle appeals to me greatly. Packaging that needs to be composted seems like a fine option, because the current plastic bag can only be recycled maybe once, after which it is completely useless and during which creates more toxicity. Love what you've done so far though!

my perfect setup would be A7 note pad, able to hold 4 cards and a tiny bit of cash, and a tiny pen that attaches to it that doesn't leek in my pocket

Ooh this looks interesting. I'm sad it doesn't come in purple 😄 and that UK shipping is $25 (we often get hit with customs charges which can amount to almost the same again) shall check back closer to the goal or on the website when they are hopefully fully backed ✔️

Kinda defeats the idea of a wallet, imo. Unless the trend is towards only carrying cards.. which is generally what i do, though having some cash on hand is useful.

This is actually something I like about the design! Most wallets are designed to be cash-centric, but I only need a card 95+% of the time. Love that this helps me streamline what I carry, so I don't feel compelled to fill every pocket with something.
