Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Just picked up the New Made in the USA Milwaukee Screwdrivers MT216 and MT215. They are the ECX1 and ECX2.
I share in this video the cost, features, and my opinion to hopefully help you make the decision if these are a tool you need to add in your life. It might be just right for you... or maybe a tool not for you all together.
Hope it was useful & THANKS FOR WATCHING!

    Personally I dislike most of Milwaukees screwdriver handles across the board, Klein and many other brands just feel nicer in my hand. If I’m using a dedicated screwdriver it’s usually not just for one screw and done so comfortability to me outweighs any special features.

    My local Home Depot just started carrying the made in the USA standard screwdriver 4 pack ($45) on the shelves. I Didn't notice if the USA lettering was in white or if the shanks were hexed! You could always get a white marker and color the USA letters in yourself. Heck, get a blue marker and make it custom and patriotic! 🇺🇲🎉👍

    The knurling and the COO are the only things I like about the new Milwaukee screwdrivers . I plan to try a pair of their dipped handle pliers just to throw a little support at their American manufacturing effort, but I'm not really a Milwaukee guy.

    Been almost exclusively a Klein guy with screwdrivers for 25 years, but lately I've been changing it up a little. There's a buzz the last couple years that Klein's tips are soft and break down/round off more easily now...and I actually HAVE noticed this first hand in the field, especially their Philips. There are still very few grips like a Klein, but they don't seem like the cadillacs they used to be. Picked up some Milwaukee insulateds last year and they aren't half bad, and the ECX is a nice tool. Use it A LOT. Milwaukee needs a set though with shaft-flush insulation, and handles aren't that great. Actually picked up a set of DeWalt's tough series and honestly they're pretty sweet...really nice handles, holding up great, demo drivers too. Great stuff as always...superb channel!!

    I picked up some Dewalt screwdrivers awhile back that look very similar to Klein but haven’t tried their tough series. I do have the Dewalt demo driver with the Yellow Acrylicish handle. It is what I use and I like it so far. I probably used Klein exclusively for about 10 years, they don’t seem like what they used to be… they aren’t bad, but not the same. Thanks for the info and the encouragement 👍👍

    Are you talking about the combo bits… or just a Phillips and Slotted screwdriver? On just screwdrivers, I prefer the WERA with the laser etched bit… but their handles are love or hate, and a little lightweight (I prefer a heavier handle) Milwaukee has something similar on theirs now, but I just am not a fan of their handles. Klein in their regular screwdrivers have always been good in my opinion. So my personal preference is WERA, Klein, and then Milwaukee.. only because Milwaukees handles. However I’m currently using Vessel Tang Thru Phillips and slotted, they are my favorite. Magnetic tip, love the handles for grip and weight. kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYeO0bKBfaq-faw.html For the Combo bits, I don’t think WERA has any.. if they do I’d like to get some. I prefer Kleins handles over Milwaukee’s, but I typically use the Milwaukee ECX bits in a magnetic bit holder in a Vessel Screwdriver.

    I really don't like these newer style ECX tips. When doing panel work, I stick with the Klein insulated flat head and square head. One reason is not all panels use the same style screws, but a flat and a square head work in all of them.

    I have insulated Square WERA’s that I use quite often… that’s normally what I keep in my main bag along with the ECX driver bits. That way if I run into the “driver bit won’t fit” I have been using the square. I only typically use these dedicated screwdrivers if I’m doing lots of receptacles, switches, etc. I know when that is going to be ahead of time, so I don’t carry these with me all the time since they aren’t useful for much else.

    It's both sad and funny when a Chinese company boosts its sales by playing on American patriotism. The more Milwaukee tools I see, the more I don't trust them. 15 years ago I bough used Milwaukee hex demo hammer. It was couple of years old and was made when Atlas Copco owned Milwaukee. That tool was a beast, worth the money, practically flawless. And for some time it was my perception of Milwaukee. Until TTI came. They like Apple - selling impressions rather thatn self-contained, finite product. In Europe counterpart to ECX is PZ/slotted hybrid. It's called PZ/S and goes in the same sizes as PZ. On our breakers (or in general electrical box fixtures - contactors, GFCIs, surge protectors, connectors etc.) screws are slotted the way you can use either PZ, slotted or PZ/S. The latter is the best for that purpose. The same applies to most of wire connecting screws on electrical outlets.

  • @MORGANSMaintenance

    @MORGANSMaintenance

    Жыл бұрын

    I was curious if you all had something similar… I don’t run into PZ stuff but once in a blue moon. I think Klein does the same thing as Milwaukee on the USA stuff. I only started using Milwaukee a few years ago… so far they have been some of the best cordless tools I have used. (Compared to Dewalt, Ridgid, Bosch)… I haven’t used Makita. I don’t know if that speaks well for Milwaukee… or bad for Dewalt, Ridgid, Bosch 😂. Bosch tools were the better of those, just not a lot of tool options is why I switched.

  • @Stefan_Kawalec

    @Stefan_Kawalec

    Жыл бұрын

    @@MORGANSMaintenance I stopped using Bosch before cordless revolution, because at the turn of the century their tool quality had been constantly dropping. You know that Ridgid is a part of TTI as well. The original Ridgid (Ridge Tool Company) makes great plumbing tools and TTI makes power tools branded as Ridgid (there's a lot licence fiddling). The same applies to Ryobi. Japanese Ryobi (dark blue tool shells) is way better that TTI's electric green abomination. Couple of my friends using Milwaukee say the same thing - all is nice for the first 2 years, then it's like with Chinese ladies. From 20 to 55 they look the same and one day, overnight, they change into wizened grandma (I hope that does not offence anybody, because it's not my intention). Makita may not be the best, not be the cheapest, sometimes it's not even the most powerful, but overall I think it has a very decent price/quality ratio. Their tools are fairly simple allowing me to fix them myself. And I don't remember when I had some Makita malfunction, BTW. Provably I'd be less critical of Milwaukee if their prices were half of what they're now, thus conveying their quality much better :)

The older 18v stuff was pretty good compared to the options at the time.

    @@MORGANSMaintenance Well, it should give the manufactures some hints if people prefer spending money than using their free tools :) I hopped on Makita wagon in 2004 and it turned out to be a good decision. Bosch had it's ups and downs. Now they're fairly good. Here in Poland for a very long time their products were an epitome of the quality tools. And then at the end of the 90s something went wrong. To put things into perspective. TTI's revenue in 2021 was $13,2 billion, Bosch Power Tools in 2022 had 5.9 billion Euros (=$ more or less), Makita in 2020 had $5,8 billion (all numbers apply to global revenue if these companies). Given that Makita is the only independent, one brand tool company in the world that's pretty impressive. Bosch has automotive, energy, consumer goods including power tools. TTI has 14 brands in its portfolio and I would not be surprised if they started selling ice cream or uranium enriching centrifuges.
