Each one was so unique, and exciting! I love them all!!!
Thanks for sharing the setup. It's interesting to see the printing over the collage elements.
❤ I so appreciate the great reminders about setup and registration. It makes such a difference and you explain it so beautifully and calmly. You're such a great teacher!
Love these, well done!.🎉🎉

Great video, as alwqys.
The most interesting part for me was where you decided to stick the collage. It almost seemed at random yet it invariably improved the piece. Fascinating

I have really been inspired by your process. I’ve been wanting to work at larger gelli plates lately, and I’ve attempted to make my own. I have yet to try them out.😊 One specific thing I really appreciate about your process is how unhesitating you are about placement of collage and your mark making. It reminds me to be confident and not overthink. Thank you for the tips on how to consistently lineup paper with the gelli plate.

This was really fun to watch, and gives me new ideas to try out. The repeated elements and colors connect all four as a series. Great!

Nice series! I like the way you started with a batch of collages - the black tissue is great lurking behind layers of color. I like No. 2 best (texture city!) - but 1-3 are cool, too.
Masterful!
Terrific designs and color! Enjoyed your work today. Very beautiful and instructive. :)

Nice cohesive set of prints would look fabulous displayed together, with the yellow print being the punctuation. I particularly liked print 2 for its dreamlike forms, but it is hard to choose between them. Nice new plate too.

Hi Art Whisperer. I love your work and explanations. Thank you. Any ideas on how to store a 16 by 20inch Gelli plate. Kind Regards. Thank you. Cheers Mumma

the manufacturer recommends returning the plate to its original box, with the 2 acetate sheets on either side. Always store it flat, away from extreme heat or cold.
Nice prints and collages. I found 2 types of Blick watercolor paper 15 x 22 One is cold press, student Will you specify which is the one you used? The gelli plate is a nice size the problem is finding a mat.

If you want to do experiments, use the student grade. Once you feel sure of yourself, switch to a better grade.

Love watching your process with your unusual color palettes. I noticed a lot of people liked the Posca markings. I personally think they were unnecessary and made the prints trying a little too hard.Too much icing! But the base prints are wonderful!

Thank you for showing us how to get consistent borders and placement. I haven’t tried any prints yet but will soon. Do you coat the entire piece with the Mod Podge after the collages are dried?
@artwhisperer88

You can do that if you wish, I don't find it necessary.
i really like what you did w/the posca pens.
Is foam board ok to use under your gelli plate?
@artwhisperer88
10 ай бұрын
something non porous like glass or plexiglass is much better than foamboard, also its cleans up better.
I bought one of them a few months ago. They're great but sadly I can't find any pre cut mats in those dimensions. I'm not a good mat cutter, and having ones made is pricey. Have you had this problem? If you sourced mats 12 x 14 I'd live to know where. Love your work and have benefited from your demibstrations.Thank yiu!,

Hi Anthony, 12 in. x 14 in is not a standard mat size. You could get some heavy colored paper like Canson that complements your work and cut an opening 13 in. x 16 in. ( 1/2 inch border all around image size) It might work and is a lot cheaper.
These were a lot of fun to watch. Did you get the new plate for any particular reason?

I gave mine to a friend, but after a while I missed the smaller size!
So has mod podge come up with an archival formula finally? It used to be non archival and would yellow over time(not acid free) just curious because I consider your Art to be fine art and in my estimation you should use archival glue so they will stand up to the test of time. (I.e. like gel or matte medium) your pieces are painstakingly beautiful!

Thanks for your concerns Brenna! I looked up Mod Podge on Google and they have a new formula which is non yellowing called Mod Podge Paper. I'll switch to this formula ASAP. I never had yellowing problems with the regular Mod Podge, as long as you keep the artwork away from direct sunlight, which is true for any artwork of value.
I really enjoyed your video today!! It was interesting to watch you play with sequence this time around. I really liked the whimsy that emerged and the posca marks were a nice touch in the end. I looked at your website and I noticed that some of the images were repeated. Does that mean that the repeat is a copy? I did notice that one was labeled a copy but none of the others were. Just thought I would pass that on. Out of my league for now but maybe some day... Cheers!!!
@artwhisperer88

The repeats are for the sake of symmetry on the website. They are not copies. Thanks for noticing!

Do you fasten your plate to the table somehow? My plates are 10-12 years old, and I don’t bother to condition them, but they’re ok 🤪
@artwhisperer88

good for you! The natural stickiness of the plate grabs the table like sticky tape.
