I pre ordered a KM2PD and returned after a few days for a couple of reasons. One was that it did not have some of the specs they said it had. They said it had Dolby TruHD and 7.1 and then confirmed it didn't. These were two of the most important specs to me. The other was CEC not pairing right out of the box. They had to issue a temporary patch which still didn't work completely for me. Not a good way to launch a new flagship product. I then looked closer at the Homatics Box R 4K Plus and found that it had all the specs MECOOL claimed it had but didn't so I returned it and got the Homatics instead and I love it. It worked perfectly right out of the box. Both boxes are about the same price but the Homatics box has all the specs that the MECOOL box does and more plus...and this is a big plus...Homatics is known for doing regular updates while MECOOL just the opposite.

Thank you for this... I agree about MeCool not bring the best with updates. I think they just released the permanent update for that CEC issue, but I also love the Homatics Box. I appreciate your input. Keep it coming! 👍

Ok, awesome video dude. This thing is convincing me over the firecube 3rd gen. I want HDR10+ because Samsung TV so I had discarded the Shield Pro, but this seems worth it over the firecube, too bad it's white though.

Great video I thought the picture was awesome,the way you shown the game. I have an Android tv I've knot even made use of yet. This looks fantastic and the price,how do you find this versus the Onn box? I like the look of this though cheers buddy!

Thanks. Well, obviously this is way more $ than the Onn devices, but this can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. Those Onn devices are great for the money, but I dunno if I'd try streaming a 25GB 4k video on them.

Good afternoon.. Great video, I’m looking to invest in another Device.. been thinking of a shield but because of the Age of it I’m not wanting to Buy when they finally stop updating it… Does this look like a long time wise investment

upscaling? AFR (Auto Frame Rate)? HDMI CEC settings reduced remote control without backlight The remote control is beautiful only in the picture, it feels cheap in your hands The firmware is crude, there are a lot of glitches and crashes! I regretted that I replaced my shield with this device, I'm disappointed Mecool

The bad: AFR doesn't work. CEC is hit or miss on my Samsung TV, the device runs hot, the output blanks randomly for a second, super low volume caused by Android built in volume. Mecool support hasn't responded to my support request in almost three days. The Good: The remote with four programmable buttons, the performance is okay but not great, AV1, Dolby Vision. I've got an Odroid N2+ (Amlogic S922X) running LineageOS TV and it blows the KM2 Plus Deluxe out of the water in performance. Unfortunately no Dolby Vision or L1 Widevine however. It looks like I will be returning the Mecool and continuing to use the N2+ in conjunction with the Chromecast with Google TV 😢

I have one question, I have a Sony OLED TV and a Denon receiver X4500H. Will I be able to play BluRay Atmos 7.1 sound passthrough from this device?

does it passthrough Dolby trueHD and Atmos?

I have mecool km2 deluxe about 5 days. Having major issues in kodi with rd sources playback. Average 10gb files..if I f-fwd a show even just a few mins the km2 won't correct itself everytime...only sometimes. Audio/video out of sync.ive noticed even if it does correct..there's about 4 second lag before correction. My internet speeds are great..500 mbps+. Can you do some streaming in kodi playback testing ans see how you fare...let us know. The box auto updated when I plugged it in. Other apps like stremio..netflix..cinema hd...no issues..working fine. Looking fwd to your response

Still think a combination FS 4K MAX and a Walmart ONN at $65 total beats even this. --- almost considered buying km2 but no mention of testing DVR like activity (the most difficult applications along with game emulation). Wish we had DVR testing. ---can the km2 run two or more applications at once easy? Think the shield can.

Well, the nVidia Shield is 5 years old, without a new version expected any time soon. If I was buying one or the other today, I'd give this device a try, especially for $75 less (give or take).

This mecool kp2 plus Deluxe does not play Netflix 4k content very poor mecool.

That site looks very shady IMO.

And once again an absolute total failure from mecool. The fact that there is no USB 3.0 port on a Deluxe version is still acceptable, but the fact that they advertise that all formats are perfectly supported and therefore run properly and then draw comparisons with Nvidia Shield TV (although I would like to point out at this point that nVidia does not offer any kind of service after the warranty has expired) is absolutely unacceptable in view of the fact that the formats are not functional. After some tests, which every user here is welcome to carry out themselves if they are in possession of the box, it does play Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision is also possible, but only in conjunction with Netflix, which means that Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision simply only work with Netflix and other streaming providers and not with KZread or videos from the hard disk. However, this is different with other providers that work accordingly, so be careful when shopping otherwise you will unfortunately be annoyed!
