16:10 RUN FOOTAGE STARTS
OMG it's happening, I got my first gas powered RC car! I started looking at the Losi 5ive-T a few months back and saw there was a 2.0 version coming out this fall and I decided to wait. It wasn't easy to do, but I am sure glad I did. This thing is beautiful. Being my first gas RC, I was glad to find that it wasn't too difficult to get it up and running. The Losi 5ive-T 2.0 runs a 32cc Zenoah motor that can push it 40+mph.
I bought AMSOIL Dominator race oil to make my own gas mix, but decided to use VP Racing Powermix for the first few runs. This video will unbox the beast, bind it, break it in and bash it.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks to Mike Dayton at the Richmond, VA Hobbytown for getting me an orange/yellow one and Joshua Williams for all his help figuring out everything I needed with it.

Man this guys voice sounds like John C Reiily from Step Brothers and his truck sounds like a leaf blower. This is pure entertainment at it's finest.
Amazing how it doesn't even bounce off massive jumps. Really shows how dialed that suspension is!
I really love my 5ive-T. It sat for a season in the garage, and my wife always tells me to sell it. So I replaced the carb for 14 bucks and got it running again. It runs amazing on Benol. It really attracts a great crowd when I take it to my local RC park.

Great Unbox and Test Run ✌️😎👍 "Hello Gas Gas" Sound's Awesome..Seeing Upgrades in the Near Future (tuned pipe..air filter.. clutches) my first Hobby Grade RC was the Duratraxx Maximum ST Nitro, then 1st Gen T-Maxx, I do miss the sound but not the Track Gear that goes with Nitros.. LOL ..You will Have LOT'S OF FUN with that Losi Gasser SCT.. Naming this should be fun too.. "BRAWLER" loud and large.. Congratulations my Friend ✌️😎👍
well Tony that's awesome it's one thing I've always liked about this channel is that you are never afraid to go in a direction and test things out. Band at the same time bringing information and a great video to boot. I never seen an RC take up your entire workspace before right on is this something that you can bring to the BMX track??

That's a beauty, but needs a large area to run but it seems well balanced when jumping. Looking forward to seeing you with it at the track :-)
Cool unboxing and run video, I got to see one of these trucks a blue one in person last year and i loved it so i'm thinking about saving up for my own which will be the blue version. But i will run it stock then after awhile i will convert it to electric with either a castle or hobbywing system.
Nice truck brother
That's a sweet truck bro, I'm like you have all electric from stampede to Fireteam have them all, but have been eyeing up the brother to yours the DBXL buggy, I think I'm gonna have to just pull the trigger and get it....been watching vids on these two and they are cool...great vid congrats on your truck...
Nice rig!!
The BOSS.....
Great video 🙂👍
Cool rig man
Gotta get one, there is a new track in town made specifically for these!
I have always loved the sound these engines make compared to the bajas, they are lower pitch and have more bass, BRRRROOOOM.
wow that is sick
NICE!!!!!!! I want one!!!!
That thing is so bad ass im definitely lookin into one of these very nice happy bashing bro👍🤙😎🤪😜😝🙈🙉🙊👊✌

I've wanted to try gas for a while and the 5ive-T has been on my wishlist since I first saw one 4 years ago
.. This is a great looking rig Tony. Love the size and the scale look of the beast.. Was just checking out your back yard run you did... Very cool man... Gonna have to expand the back yard if you get any bigger rigs...lmao..With smaller rigs those center drive dog bones usually have a small rubber washer inside to stop knocking. Something you could try if you needed to Thumbs up bro.. :)
WoooooW very nice amigo
I love it
You will definitely want an outerwear for the air filter or it will be clogged in minutes and sucking dust in the motor and some good quality air filter oil are the first 2 things you absolutely need. Highly recommend the mesh mod on the motor also to avoid taking fins off of the flywheel. Check your engine inserts frequently too because they come loose a lot and that will take out the pinion before you even realize it happened. You’ll be addicted man, bought my first losi in 2013 and been hooked ever since. Enjoy,
Many years ago, back in 2003, I had the Traxxas Monster Buggy where I had to only install a steering servo and the RX.
IU so want to petition to put up a track in our town for this kind of thing as I think it would be nice to have somewhere to run your rigs. We used to have one in the 80's it was built right beside the BMX track now there is a really nice skate park there.
Nice truck and great video. I’ve been considering this as my first 1/5 scale gas truck. Christmas is right around the corner. Hmmm.

Not true. Yamalube rules
Most important buy a Dynamite kills witch, ditch the pipe get a Bartolone pipe, get some 'R'clip tethers, I have been running 5th scale gas for thirty plus years and can not stress enough getting a kill switch, get an air filter pre-filter from either LOSI or Outerwears, this is the second must have, if you have the cash buy an Axis-RC work stand and the swivel makes working on it at home and out a breeze, I have one of the first 5ive-T's it has so many upgrades it is easier to list what is left stock, I have seven 5th gas truck's and buggies. Go out and enjoy, but don't forget kill switch then pre-filter then exhaust oh and the stand with optional swivel, I have two at the moment just ordering a third one.

Good advice, especially the kill switch. I'm surprised that isn't a standard feature with a truck of this size. If it were to go out of control it could seriously injure someone.
Nice!
My dad has the very first version of the Losi 5t still. One thing would recommend is to get rid of that stock pipe and air filter and put a kill switch on it don’t want any run away trust me 😂
Great review, I've never run a Gas RC truck, I'd like to get one but feel daunted with the maintenance,set-up etc... I'm sure with the manual it's easy to work through it
My next toy/hobby! Saving up for a a 1:5 😲🔥👏
Nice review and ofcourse a amazing car. I have the first 5ive but full with aluminium upgrades. A tip: The motor break in procedure can be done better. If you do some heat cycles before actually running the car it is even better for the engine. 15 minutes of idling with a very rich setting on the needles and cheap oil is a good start. Than let the engine cool off completely and let it do another 15 minutes of idling without running it. Than let it cool off again. The third time you can run it but only half throttle max. Than it would also be a good idea to let the motor cool down once more completely. The next time you can use more throttle and you can actually feel the power come to life. At this point you may also start to begin tuning the needles a little bit. In the beginning I advice you to run it very very rich. So rich that oil is spitting out of the exhaust. Good luck with your first gas bigscale!!!
Omg I love it probably my new favorite rc truck dose it break easy tho

My light bar went out after a few runs, I finally had a chance to take it apart to figure out what's wrong. The wires came apart at the solder joints. I'm not good with my solder skills, at least from how I feel about it, but what have I got to lose. I gave it a go to repair it and I guess my solder skills are better than I thought because it works now! Ohh hell yeah. Lol

I love 1/5 scale but until I buy a few acres I just won't buy one. It is so hard to find good jumps and scale TT terrain. You gave er a good rip in the backyard though! I have a hard time finding good spots to shred 1/8 scale rigs. But one day, a 1/5 scale TT will be mine. Oh, tell me I can still get a hat from your channel, I didn't see any in your merch? Gotta get the camo hat brother!

Hey, first, Nice video, 2nd: I have had the losi for 2 months now and I have noticed that my throttle servo gets incredibly hot till it burns you finger if you touch it after just 15 mins runs. After 2 months I just discovered that this might be a design flaw in all these platforms due to the flow direction of the hot air from the engine that is pointing towards the thrtt servo (you can check this out easily just by placing your hand in the servo while the engine is idling) My question is, have you or someone else ever had an issue with this? This cant be good, the servo is going to melt!
Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder how well those wheels and tires would fit on my DBLE or Rey? Thanks for the vid!!!
