I have 3 litime batteries. I’ve just had one fail after only one year of little use. 100 size. I have contacted their customer service and will update on how they handle warranty.

Iv got one in my boat and a repeater building on a mountain top (temps from 105 to -7). So far it’s worked well I might upgrade to the 400ah battery as the repeater is more popular than we originally expected. 🔴 note the battery BMS is very noisy and not good for raspberry pi computers that deal with audio. You will have static issues.

Any LiFePO4 battery can be used for a trolling motor. Trolling motors are just the 12V or 24V electric motors mounted to fishing boats that are used for moving from spot to spot. They drain batteries pretty quick so lithium batteries are an awesome replacement for heavy lead acid. However, on a boat you also need a battery to start your gas outboard when you need to get back to the dock or change spots on the lake. The extra 300-500 amps for 5 seconds means this is a dual purpose battery. It can be used for BOTH starting an outboard gas motor AND for deep cycle use with a trolling motor. Pretty slick...the name brand equivalent is currently $1000 plus.

Thank you for the in-depth review! After seeing your review and several others on this battery… I am going to get one. Honestly, I kind of want to get one for the RV too…. 😁 I will wait until that one goes bad first though I suppose.

I'm about to review one from one of their competitors, LiPuls, and I had a similar question about why it's designated trolling motor over one of their other comparable 100ah models. Thanks for your review.

It can handle a higher surge to be able to crank a trolling motor.

Great video, I learned a lot just by watching. I want to run my MinnKota Terrova 12v 55lb thrust off of one of these. Do I need the big one like this, or can I use something like the Li Time Mini 100ah for that? The extra space savings would help...

They have a deep cycle battery also, would that be for cranking? Could you use the trolling motor battery as a cranking battery? Do you have a suggestion for a lithium cranking battery for fishing?

I've ordered 6 LiTime batteries over the past year, and none have failed, save for one that had some hiccups after being submerged, but sorted itself out after cleaning the terminals. I use them for a trolling motor mounted to a kayak, charged by solar panels through a controller. They've been exposed to plenty of saltwater splashes, saltwater air, extreme heat, extreme humidity, shock, and rapid discharge (30+amps). I have 3 connected together.

Lol, the battery companies come up with some weird names. My buddy uses a weize 100ah for his trolling motor and it works great, and doesn't have a special name. I'm waiting for them to come out with one named RV CAMPING SPECIAL. Nice job Brian on the review !!!

I've been using LFP batteries, both commercial and DIY, to power my trolling motor for several years. This varies by which motor you use, but they generally only draw about 50 amps, peak. Most of the time, they draw less than that, because once your boat is moving it just doesn't draw as many amps. It's a no-brainer to use a sealed LFP battery for a trolling motor application. They are half the weight, twice the usable capacity, don't suffer from voltage sag throughout most of their disharge curve, plus they charge back up so much faster. These days, it is a false economy to use any kind of SLA or AGM battery for powering a trolling motor, because they just don't last as long.

Would I be able to run my 24v Minn Kota Ultrex 80lb thrust, Garmin 93SV, and my bilge pump off 2 of the 12v 100Ah trolling motor batteries?

I’ve been using these batteries in my bass boat for the past year and have had no problems with them. I have a 17’ fiberglass boat with a 125 hp motor. I can fish all day when it’s windy (15 mph+) and only use about 30% of a full charge for my 24 volt Ghost trolling motor then the batteries recharge in less than 30 minutes. I use another one of these batteries to run my graphs and always have good clean power all day long. I don’t fish in freezing weather so charging during the cold isn’t a problem for me. I live in Texas and we had dozens of days this year when the temperature was 105+ degrees so I wonder how charging in the heat does because I don’t fish in 100 degree weather either.

Would you recommend these or the 100 ah self heated low temperature ones for a trolling motor? Boat is stored pretty much outside and the winter dips into the 20s. I Usually use my boat through out the entire year. Just not sure which ones to get. I may be fine with these instead of spending the extra $100 if the self heated ones but Figured I’d ask.

I’d recommend still the TM batteries. They have a BMS that can allow the high amps it takes to start those motors

Thanks for the reply. It says the one I ordered with the self heating low temperature protection has a bms. It just wasn’t in the “trolling motor model option” which was kinda confusing.

Is this 12.8v lithium 100Ah battery considered a dual purpose? Do you know if it can be used for cranking a 250 stroke mercury outboard?

I understand that these are storage batteries and are not designed for sudden amp draw used in cranking. I use an AGM cranking battery and use lithiums for everything else.
