This duramax is coming along really amazing so far love the build

Hey I haven't read all the comments but if someone has already mentioned this i apologize. But if this was mine I'd go back to the electrical wiring and add Heat Shrink waterproof Tubing over any splices you made into the wiring. I'd also redo the terminals with water proof connectors or at the very least heat shrink tubing over the crimped wired sections. It will make a differences and protect your wiring and investment.

If someone thought maybe all the emissions parts he had on it originally didn't go back on as well, could be a big time issue. Messing with diesel stuff can attract a lot of unwanted attention from certain groups. Better to keep anything to do with exhaust/tuning low key.

Did the same set up on mine. You should look into the WC FAB relocation bracket. Takes it from outside of frame rail, to inside of frame rail. Much safer, and you don’t see two filters hanging out like a Cali Boy.

Its a very nice truck. You need to upgrade the turbo and injectors when you see fit. You will hear the upgraded turbo through the exhaust and its amazing.

Just a note about dielectric grease, it does not conduct electricity. Not sure if that is what you were saying in the bit about the connections. It is great at repealing moisture and corrosion though. Keep up the great videos!

It might be cause of emissions...some one else explain it in the comments. He may not have installed some parts back that monitor the emissions or whatever

Where's the exhaust vid at? You can hear the turbo whistle on cold start. Straight pipe will usually do that.🤭

You should go get your fass pump filters swapped for some caterpillar filters 🤘🤘

Thread tape should end so that when you thread in, there is no chance of the tape peeling. It looks like the feed and return fittings might have been taped backwards, but no big deal if there's no leaks!

That’s what’s confusing me the most on the lb7. This is my first diesel and I don’t know anything about them. Doing the fass 165 with dual sump…..already f’d up and cut the fill neck for a single return 😭

Is your Duramax tune n delete?

Just be careful running more power above just tuning... once you start getting into turbo(s) and more fuel, you start getting closer to the threshold of the engine. At that point youre going to be looking at some big money for a engine build, and definitely a trans build. The trans on my old duramax didnt like the race tune after 6-8 months, $6500 trans build later and she was good to go.

A proper engine build with turbo(s) and all the other goodies (injectors, injection pump(s) will easily be $30k+ if doing it right, sometimes even more depending on what route you go lol.

First thing I did when I installed mine fass filters are JUNK! Cat filters all the way. Watch truck masters video on the filters they're horrible please put cat filters on that beast!

Duramaxes have issues with when you have 1/4 tank or less of fuel and running more power, the engine can starve for fuel. With the sump fuel is being drawn directly from the lowest point of the tank.

Delete the egr and new up pipe and down pipe. Cold air intake. Will definitely wake it up

Ye you are right, need to keep the truck reliable and pretty unmodified. You use it for towing and stuff like that so will affect your trans temps if tuned up too much.
