Nah, it’s not. The stage lights are a bit different from Los Angeles in the clip used for Thriller 40 documentary.

Pretty sure it was different nights as well

I have came to the conclusion that this is not the same night as what's shown in the documentary which is December 9, 1984. This actually is December 7, 1984. I actually found a report with this footage but it was shorter and it showed Dec 7, 1984 with a red line under it. Also Marlon is wearing the full suit and not just that white sorta weird looking tanktop.

It’s from a LA full news report. The date is December 9th because the reporter starts off saying “Last Sundays concert”. December 9th 1984 was a Sunday.
