At 24 min DCA that hawk bill shape also works well for cutting straps and bands off shipping pallets. Straps that can't be cut w a 3 inch drop point (my fav) that hawk bill shape WILL w only 3inches. .. I discovered that at work. My presidio Vs gas station hawk bill. Talk about a very humbling of a learning experience ..

Anytime you guys have fixed blades I’m loving it.

Whoever does designing at Protech reallllly took that to heart. Brass skulls and stuff on $500 top-their autos. Not the Malibu.. that’s a good looking outlier.

Thanks for all of the great content and comparisons shared over the years! Ironically I’m currently at paternity leave! Hope you’ve enjoyed yours. What would be your recommendation for a “holiday / travel family knife”? Slicing bread, veg or fruit, opening a plastic case for your kiddos new swimming goggles (curb your enthusiasm anyone?), perhaps opening a bottle cap. Ideally with a locked blade for safer handling and not too large. Thanks and keep up the good work!

I’d love to get a Military 2 one day. Spydercos are always dependable and I didn’t realize how important that was til hiking out in the middle of nowhere with no tools or sharpeners.. that’s all you care about out there. Looks go out the window. But I love how spydies look anyways so just a bonus. Glad to see you back DCA, Seth held it down fine though.

Just got the Bear and Son Barlow in red stag from you guys. Prettiest Bear knife I've ever seen, and the action is quite satisfying as well. I'm going to have to check out that modern version next.

Thomas, I recently bought an 08 Ram 1500 for cheap because the motor needed to be rebuilt. I bought it because it has the 6 speed manual transmission. Before I got it, i thought to myself, "What would Thomas do?" I thought it was your kind of deal so I got it 😂

I alway enjoy your new knife presentations! What a good crew! I have a question for you. Where I live in Colorado there are a lot of Mountain Lions. I walk my dog on dirt roads where they are regularly spotted and want to have some sort of knife for self defense in the unlikely event I run into one and it doesn’t go in the opposite direction. What would you recommend I carry that will give me some measure of protection but will not be too visible? Thank you

First, welcome back and congratulations David! Second does an outdoor chef knife need to be different than a regular chef knife? I bring a petty knife a skinner/hunting and boning knife to deer camp for a week. I would love an outdoor chef knife if it did more than any other chef knife.

Man, I love Brian Nadeau's designs, but I can't bring myself to buy any of his Sharp By Designs knives due to the fact they are made in China. Hell, I'd be willing to pay double the price (maybe even triple) if they were made here in the US. I'd even be happy if they were made in Italy, anywhere but China.
