    Another vote for 1000rnd review. I’m a big Kimber fan and here’s why: I commanded a unit in Afghan for a year and we wanted to get a commemorative pistol. Kimber customer service was outstanding! They bent over backwards to produce what we wanted, beautiful engraving on a 1911 slide and grips, great price, shipped to FFLs literally all over the country. Ms Kosar is a gem in their custom gun shop. Colt hung up on us twice from overseas. Also own a TLE II, brother owns one, we love them, no issue. Semper Fi

It is the best 1911 gun I have owned thus far. If you search for it you can find it for less price. I got mine for $1450, new in the box, never used.

    Why are optic mounts so difficult for these huge gun companies? And fuck the plates too. Just give us an RMR/Rmsc footprint for direct mounting and good screws, without removing the rear sight.

  • @klee1410

    @klee1410

    because trijicon rmr's weren't actually designed to go on handguns originally and hence a number of full sized guns (like 1911/2011) have slides that are actually more narrow than distance between the 2 rmr screw holes, which necessitates a plate. Yes, you could go rmsc direct mount, but there's literally ONE optic that's remotely close to full size that mounts to that cut: the regular holosun eps.

  • @machongwei7082

    @machongwei7082

    23 күн бұрын

    Have you ever thought about the length in between the rear sights and the cartridge extractor? That’s where the optics gonna be placed, and in my opinion, currently 99% of the market pistols just simply doesn’t have enough space to both simply and securely sit the optics there. So those big companies came with a bunch of alternatives fixes(like take the entire rear iron sights off so that gives more length) to avoid change the entire manufacturing line. Things like that I would say just look at canik mete series, simply make that space bigger and all problems solved.

My buddy has this gun and after firing it I put my old Kimber on consignment to get one. I'd like to see something to go full 1000. My buddy's seem to have feed ramp issues. Granted some polishing might deal with it. I was getting some last round no hold open when I ran it. I asked about it and he stated he hadn't cleaned it. I chalked it up to not being in cleaned in well over 700+ rounds which I'd never do as a 1911 owner.

We've had more companies produce optics ready guns since then but thank gosh the 1911/2011 companies are catching on! I'm eager to acquire one but it'll be a few more months. Definitely interested in a 1000rd review! Considering trialing a commander size 2011 for EDC rotation and with the going price for these on gunbroker right now being just over 1200, this is definitely getting some strong consideration. Thanks!

    So far I've owned 3 1911 Kimbers in 45, they have not gave me any issues so far. As to their mags I have had some issues here and there. Upgrading to some WC 1911 mags and hopefully should do the trick.

    Couldn't afford a Kimber if I wanted one, but I appreciate the video. It's good to know and I enjoy watching you and your wife shoot together. WISH my wife didn't HATE ( be scared of) firearms. Keep making great content brother. Appreciate you.

    I'd like to see a 1000 rd review on this gun IF>>> the iron sight screws are repaired...and that subject is addressed properly by Kimber... I started shooting Kimbers while over seas in Al Quiam IRAQ supporting the Marines (I flew a targeting UAV) still have that .45acp shoots great.

    Why do people always want to compare crap guns to a Stacatto? Please spare us. Maybe compare it to a $300 Taurus.

    Definitely do a 1000 Rd review, I am really interested in buying one so I want to see what the long term durability is for this pistol. I own the Alpha Foxtrot S-15 1911 which is an amazing pistol very durable. I have 2800 Rds through it so far with no malfunctions.

    I have a kimber Raptor 2 in stainless. I got it due to how limited our options are in California and Honestly thought the gun looked amazing. The 1st range trip my front sight fell off. I will say kimber fixed it pretty quick. The other issue I had was that the trigger was literally cutting my finger. I asked for them to do something about that and nothing was.

    I actually own this before the Honest Outlaw family (achievement 1 😂). I paid $1400 for this (achievement 2😮). I already am incredibly satisfied with this firearm. Style, price point, performance. Only negative, it does have some MIM in it. In time, I will correct this through Atlas Gunworks. I am still pretty blown away by the SDS MAC 9 DS-No MIM. My hands are a perfect size for MAC 9 DS (tightly braced against the mag well). Some failure to feeds during break-in. Polished the feed ramp and "slightly" adjusted the trigger down to 3.5 and WOAH... I am going to run these against each other. Will be fun!
