I love how they made the lasgun true to it's reputation in the lore. Not a fancy weapon, just somenthing that does it's job and does it well. And if you use 1000 of them at the same time, even space marines can and will have a bad time.

I find dogs more annoying; I’ve had half a dozen times I’ve gone to push a pox and a dog jumps from right behind them right in me; dosent help they are absolute spazzes with their movement path.

@@dustindubbo2892 if you dodge and slide in any direction, it'll throw off dogs and they bounce off of you. So if you push and then dodge slide backwards, they'll just ping pong off of you. Although you should ofc buffer a side dodge slide input just in case, but I've had some moments where dogs just fly off of me. Really nice for ogryns and psykers where your movement is limited but with options.

Build is broken because of the new patch, but unfortunately probably needs retooling and is a little bit worse this patch due to losing easier access some of the perks in the middle tree.

Since people keep liking this, I'll elaborate, it's still possible to put out the damage this build (and video) was showing in patch 14, and you'll see your numbers skyrocket, but sharpshooter in general ends up being far more frail this patch so if you're not confident in playing perfectly and nailing a majority of your headshots, you'll die far more due to the lack of toughness damage reduction in the new tree. You can definitely out damage everyone in the lobby if you have solid fundies though.

I use the mg 1a lasgun and i love it! It is such a versatile weapon and it has great dps.

From what i've tested, helbore lasguns seem to be at least better equipped for dealing with armored enemies than the your regular lasgun...

You’re baller as fuck for playing like you did, I just have no idea why anyone plays auric maelstrom. I’ve completed a few runs and they were more stressful than an LSAT. Shit just is so supremely in fun to me man. More power too you though!

I always like the 1a. I didn't think it was bad, it's just the XII was so good, there was no point using anything else. I like the fast firing of the Ia. Fun to use 😁

The veteran talents were good before, it was arguably the strongest class if played well. All they did in the rework was add in bad keystone talents that weren't needed, and re-arrange the tree into a more strict and less versatile structure. If you didn't know how to build the class before you still won't be able to do it with the new tree. I had 5 good builds saved before and I have to say I'm not a fan of the new layout. There are a couple nice changes but overall it's a downgrade. All veteran needed was a couple little tweaks and buffs, not an entire skill tree rework.

Yea the sad part is the keystones are pretty solid so they basically made the rest of the skill tree worse to compensate for it. I'd of rather they just left it alone

​@@HasshodoEven just that isn't quite enough though cause the nerfs to talents all across the tree that weren't mentioned in the patch notes combined with the tree being bloated makes it hard to actually get the lacklustre keystones and still have enough points to grab other talents that you want, like grenade replenishment or bring it down

IV is highest fire rate and lowest damage. XII is lowest fire rate and highest damage. Ia is the middle ground.

Oof, yeah unfortunately the new coming update is gonna change the veteran talent tree, and the website has changed it to the new talent tree. That's why his link is empty

kantrael makes very eager rifles

I gave my god rolled XII a go and it felt off after the patch. Gave the IV a go and (without mods) its hard to get the most out of that fire rate. Ia just hits a sweet spot now on a lasgun squad leader left/middle hybrid (which I'm going to have to do again with another patch).

Kan XII is kinda bad now tbh, I found myself being unable to even pull it out as i couldnt deal with the trash melee units continuously harassing me, whereas with the 2 other buffed lasguns, I could actually easily deal with trash units, along with everything other than crushers Kan12 is easily the worst one now, the only way itd be better is if you have can headshot every single shot at close range continuously, which is impossible, id say im very good at aiming in shooters, but i cant hit headshots every second

I use a 1a after it rolled 246 dmg (my 12 ist 286 dmg) and trying to find out which one is best. absolutely adore the ability to just jank out snipers by sniping better than them. I use them on the zealot support, which I main (cadian chainsword, fire grenade, martyr for health, cleansing spirit for support and the preaching thing for additional support). It’s melee capabilities are way better, the not dying+regen dmg dealt+regen 25% dmg taken makes you very tough; + tougness on range and heavy melee kill is also strong, and you can fight standard enemies soo much easier. also, charge attacking monstrosities and carapace is satisfying imo, which is why I take it over swords, yet I don’t use axes to have better crowd control

And from this video i learned that the trapper actually doesn't track you 100% when netting and that you can easily sidestep. For 1000 hours i thought you had to dodge them.....

How did you not lose all your toughness @3:52 when the barrel blew up and you took fire damage!? Doesn’t fire take out all your toughness instantly? Seems like you got lucky as you lost all your toughness moments later from the bomber’s fire.

Fun fact about fire, fire is really buggy. You can also just bunnyhop over fires if you know where they are. What I assume what happens though is that barrel fire doesn't strip you of your toughness for a few moments when it erupts. But I wouldn't be surprised if the fire straight up just forgot to strip your toughness.

Fire from barrels that you blow up will just go straight to damaging health. Whereas any other source of fire will take your tougness first. I don’t know if this was intended or a bug

Fire barrels aren't bugged its intended. Fire barrels dont burn you like normal fire damage, it builds one stack of health damage and procs it when full. You can see it on your buff bar on the bottom. This building stack is why jumping works so well on fire barrels, since the stack can wear off while airborne.

I find all 3 lasguns are awesome, i just have dogshit aiming. So in my case it is a skill issue haha.

Bomber is nastiest special.

it's the same weapon, and it is not "really" buffed - the weapons haven't changed a bit. It's the skill tree of the vet has changed, and thus it changes the damage output of every (ranged) weapon in game. i use this lasgun as well as an autogun (depends on my mood) and both work quite well. what chocoB shows here is quite normal atm (well if you know what you are doing as vet that is...)

@@Xingmey Yea it used to be old meta for vets when we only had 6 skills since it benefitted the most from those skills and all in all if you can hit headshots was great for dealing with anything that wasn't armored. Now (or previously now that the new update changed the vet tree), we had access to krak grenades which basically was our dealing with anything armor (maulers don't count because they have flak on their chest, which sucks but we get enough damage).

Nice, and probably more comfortable to use than the MG XII because of the higher rate of fire. Just doesn't have the "thump" that the XII has. The shovel tho. I think that's the weapon to go. Probably need to stop worrying about my gun so much and switching out my Force Sword with that.

Shovel has a lot of utility that others may not have. Definitely fun to use. Being able to stagger any enemy outside of bosses and monstrosity is really strong in some cases. Its also got better dodge stats than knives and really good base stamina, making it a very safe option.

The "Efficient" blessing lowers ammo usage per shot. Also veteran can regenerate 1% of their total ammo for elite/specialist kills.
