Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this episode at New Junction we Unbox the latest member of the fleet, A Dapol Class 68.
While unboxing this new loco we discuss its merits as its simply fantastic, we have a real time shell removal/ chip install to demonstrate how easy it is for the end user.

Sorry I'm late to the party but just watching this before I buy a class 68. Lovely looking things and loved your review Only error was the map inside the compass logo is of Cumbria not the world. DRS is owned by British nuclear fuels and sellafield is the main site. Cheers Pete
Great review and your praise is well deserved. I’ve recently bought two for nuclear consists with the upcoming Accurascale containers. Both factory fitted DCC sound, they’re superb. Just one thing, I think it’s a map of Cumbria behind the compass rose reflecting DRS’s link to the nuclear industry. TonyS
Looks an amazing loco. One thing missing in my opinion, a driver. All that fantastic detail and an empty seat in the cab.
I’ve just got my 68 in TPE, wow! It’s such a great model!
Just bought one! Fantastic model and runner. Probably the best model I’ve seen.

Enjoyed your video a lot, i love my Dapol 68 it never puts a foot wrong and looks stunning as you say, cheers...Mal
Lovely honest review and after the year Dapol have had its nice to see a review with them in favour. Such a good review you so very nearly had me visiting Rails website and hitting the buy button.... Cheers, Mark
Wow...Wow...Wow what more can one say, a fantastic model. Cheers Greg from Australia
Great great video of a great great loco and name. Had to get this one because it plagues me when I over in Banbury, being part of the Chiltern fleet along with 009 and the other 5, with the added push pult apparatus.Really enjoyed this and a thumbs also cheers Nick.
Completely agree with you - especially how they dealt with the whole new shell replacement. Fantastic customer service that other manufacturers could learn from! Oh, and an amazing model....!
Beautifully detailed loco. Love the huge "diesel" sign above the filler cap - I wonder how often the AA has been out when some numpty has filled a 68 with petrol! ;-) Cheers
Fabulous looking loco and nice to see how it comes apart so easy , I'm sure I could brake something though ......Peter
Same one as me!Its a great loco and great review hope to see it running for along time on the junction.

Nice loco, only seen one of them in person and that was "Rapid" , also with that coupler I would shorten the dropper but glue another piece of thicker plastic to it so it still has the weight to hold the coupling down, if it was metal you could just bend it.
Lovely train! Ollie
That looks fabulous Richard. It looks really good running too. Definitely a presence soon the track :). Ian
Very nice loco. I'm off to rip up my track and make myself some sweeping curves after watching your videos!

You may like next Fridays video, few visitors to the Junction! ;)
these are great models. it should get model of the year. Got some good news for you. i had to redo the competition coz the winner did not get back to me. ill pulled another number out of the tub and you now are the winner of the loco!!!
What a nice review....I don’t tend to watch too many reviews but I enjoyed this ....and the loco looks pretty good .....regards Fred ....that’s definitely a Wilbury addition in the future !
Great video and good looking loco.
Great video & it certainly is a lovely model. i also got 'Avenger' as a Christmas present, it joins 'Defiant' in my stable! It also has to be one of the easiest loco's to install a decoder, i've had a right nightmare getting the bodyshell off some Hornby models.
Fantastic review!
Excellent review!
Nice video well put together and nice loco. Cheers FF789
Great video Richard. I had to cut a bit off that long drop from my couplers due to them catching on the points as you mentioned. It is a fantastic loco, but the only negative for me is the couplers. I can't run double headed with the standard couplers for this model. I had to fit some wider ones. I may try Kadees to see if that improves things further.
FANtastic! Just 8 months after the first 68s released come the 2nd lot!
Oooh, I want one now, unfortunately I'm out of cash. But now I've got another engine to add to my long list of wants. Good review, looking forward to the station, Alex.

@@bjoe385 Not yet, I said it was a long list and I mostly collect the BR steam era so the 68 is still ow down on the want list but still on there.
Nice video and really nice loco. Exceptional detail. I am thinking about purchasing a chiltern class 68 but I now cant decide wither to get the DRS one or not😅. Owen
Awesome Video Of This Great Model

I recently saw a class 68 at Doncaster. It was in one of the sidings round the back end of the station.
Looks awesome in both DRS and Chiltern Railways!
Hi fantastic looking loco, see the real thing day at Scarborough ...Trans Pennie. How ever one thing that your video showed was that the driver was located above the coupling end, surely the driver needs to be at the open end so that it will look more realistic when pulling freight or carriages.
Looks Lovely Richard, you need a DRS 66 and a Pair of Nuclear Flasks which would look great on your layout!
awesom loco
My favourite thing about this loco is the price, in a world where Bachmann and Hornby locos can cost over £160 and this costs round about £130.
I love that train so much
One which looks good on most layouts , wrongly badged or not .. Dave
Nice Loco I have got the class 68 in the Chiltern Railways livery
Nice loco would look brilliant pulling some DRS coaches
What no provision for a second-mans chair in the cab , have ASLEF gone soft. The operators will be doing away with guards next you'll see !! Fab vid of the Warskip thanks !
I would rather get a loco with to much packaging then hardly any at all, all these reviews make me really want one haha, I was lucky enough to get the tts sound class 67004 Caledoian sleeper :), not sure if rails of Sheffield is still doing the deal but it was 88 pounds.

Very nice loco and if you think it's a game changer then I'm listening because I personally have had such rubbish products this year so well said and totally agree. Your picture charity is excellent, I watched this on the big screen, can I ask what camera you use. Thanks and cheers Jerry

Jerry Allen Hi Jerry, thanks for your feedback, gone are the days where manufacturer's can fob us off with crap and expect us to pay a premium. Camera wize all my footage is filmed on my humble Samsung galaxy S7 phone. Regards Richard

New Junction Wow, that's interesting. I'll try the phone!! Thanks appreciated
Was that one you got DCC?
Can you do a video showing your fleet? That would be awesome
The 'etched' plates on the first batch were factory fitted and awfully done....glue smudging, squintly applied etc. SSo Dapol have taken that part of the manufacture and assembly out and give the user the job of fitting them. I was lucky, my Scotrail 68 (which I won in a Hattons competition!) was well put together....well the halo lights didn't work to start with lol. A great loco, as you say its upped the level a bit! Cheers. Dave
Who’s disliked this? Cracking video.

Thomas Maddox can't please them all
I cant believe the amount of detail in that model if its catching on points only is it the track thats the problem ? Oh and did you hear the gasp when you said you have only one electrical connection .....you wouldn't know your trains run very smoothly
