Thank for a great season of reviews/ presentations. How would you compare Capita megadeath with Jones stratos? If you can point out the dampness/less chattery, carving. Thank you so much

For an intermediate to advanced board, that likes all mountain, little park but generally a quick and aggressive rider, would you recommend this or the Captia Merc?

Hey Carmen! Great video and review. My husband just surprised me with the exact same Stratos board 146. I’ve been riding a Burton Deja Vu 149. I’m 5’3” and about 135 and have been riding for a long time. I noticed you’re riding a 149. We might be pretty close in size so wondering if you would recommend I go up to the 149 instead?

Hey there! I’m 5’1 and around 135 pounds as well and the 149 handled great! Still nimble in the trees at that size but felt stable through bigger mountain riding. I’d recommend the 149 for sure!

Stratos is STIFF, and i think you are neglecting to mention this. Its not the most versatile, you need an advanced rider to ride it, and its a workout!

Probably a twin version of this one would be a better idea than the Mind expander twin.

How would this be as a more freeride/pow friendly alternative to the Yes Typo? It's my daily driver as a high intermediate getting into advanced, mainly off piste. Wanting to get more into moguls, trees, side hits, pow.

The "spoon" nose is a big difference and performance upgrade! - Also , this is more directional with some taper / advantageous in Pow and freeride situations!

@@tributeboardshop I thought maybe it would be too stiff for my skill level from what I've heard of the '24 version?

If I like to hit the occasional rail, and pop sidehits, is the Twin or Ultra Twin a better option from the Jones line-up? Or would the Stratos be manageable for all of the above as well as the obvious all mountain free riding deck?

The stratos very at home in the freestlye/ park realm, and definitely your best bet for the all mtn freeriding. Go Stratos.

The Stratos is sure on the stiffer side. It’s a nice board to ride but when you encounter more uneven terrain it laks some grip. The backseat for the binding is great in powder but when you are back on the piste your edge grip sucks.. When I used mine for four days a part of the edge of the topsheet came lose and there where some parts wich where suspicius.. And when I made a warranty claim they just said it was impact damage and dismissed the claim.. There wasn’t any damage on the board and I had to take legal action to get what I was entitled to. With that in mind I would never buy any Jones product again. I also have a lot of different Bataleon boards and have never had any big issues with them but their service is great. I once had a new board wich had a small irregularity in the base and they took it right back and sent me a replacement.

something to keep in mind...other reviewers mention that the new version is a lot stiffer than the older one. I have a 2021 version (so not sure why I'm even watching these) that I love, but based on the angry snowboarder review, I wouldn't buy the 2024.

Stiffer yes , but " a lot " ? No .... keep in mind we actually ride these boards before the reviews come out ;) I do feel it snappier but in a totally positive way from the older version of the core ... you would likely love it for the responsiveness!

This boards checks all the boxes of what I want but I'm little concerned about all this thing about its stiffness. Would you recomend this to an intermidiate rider or it may be too much?

I come from a skateboarding background; is referring to riding "switch" as "fakie" normal in snowboarding? because it doesn't make any sense; fakie refers to how a trick is done, not how you are riding. yes, if youre doing a fakie trick it means your riding switch; but, again fakie doesnt refer to how youre riding.

@@brianp9268it's hard to describe. I like to ride switch alot and do deep carves. I ride all mt twins. I just bought a skeleton key. I am dabbling in directional taper boards. I dont like the performance on ice. I ride in northern Michigan. Jones I feel might be more of a steep and deep board mfg co. But I hear good things about them. I like my boards to be 250 cm waist. 7.5 size feet limits the length of boards for me. I dont ride pow much in the midwest.
