Hi guys! It's me FYD. In this video, I will explain in detail how to get to Istanbul Airport (IST) with the newly opened Istanbul Airport metro, starting from Yenikapı station and transferring including Taksim Square. I tried to explain as much as I could and all the details, including the istanbulkart filling machine, are in one video. You can also switch directly from the shortcuts if you wish. The journey started from Yenikapı station and took approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in total.

Bu videomda metro ile Yenikapı istasyonundan başlayarak Taksim Meydanı dahil aktarma yaparak yeni açılan İstanbul Havalimanı metrosuyla İstanbul Havalimanına nasıl gidileceğini tüm ayrıntıları ile anlatacağım. Elimden geldiğince anlatmaya çalıştım ve istanbulkart satış+dolum makinesi dahil tüm ayrıntıları ingilizce (turistleri de göz önünde bulundurarak) tek videoda topladım. Important update: The U1/M11 metro from the Airport has been extended to Gayrettepe, which enables passengers to directly transfer to the M2 line to Taksim and beyond, as well as the Metrobus. No need to exit in Kagithane anymore, unless you want to reach destinations along the M7 line.

Very nice video giving a very good information about how to go to the İstanbul Airport, good job! But now it is better to use Havaist busses 🚌, you will directly reach to the airport, this metro is good for people who don't have many lugguages and have no walking problems. After they opened the Gayrettepe Station it doesn't matter, you have to walk the same distance from the Airport station to the inside of the airport they should have to build the exit just under the airport, l suppose it is a wrong planing at the project..

Very useful video, though could be shorter. Havaist busses are not that easy to take for foreigners - stops are not marked and to Sultanomet they go only at night (and currently only to metro stop). But going to IST by metro with luggage seems pretty brutal to me after looking at all the transfers

Çarşamba günü Havalimanından Nef Stadyumuna nasıl giderim diye araştırma yapıyordum, metro haritasından aktarma yapacağım yerleri teorik olarak bulmuştum ama videosunu izlemek çok iyi oldu. Evet 11.10 gibi başladım ve telefonumdaki fotoğraflara şimdi baktığımda 12.38 de dış hatlar terminal kapısından içeriye girmişim. Yani 15 dakika daha eksik hesaplarsak(dinlenme, ara konuşmalar vs.) ortalama 1 saat 10 dakika sürüyor Yenikapı'dan İstanbul Havalimani Dış hat terminali. Rica ederim

can you elaborate on firts option 3 Pass Card for 50Tl. is it suitable for one time trip? we need just go for couple hours from airport to city center

I think you need twice 50 tl card for one way. You may use card till whene its decharged(doesn't matter it's same day or same trip)

Тоисть на русском я лучше объясню. Данная карта которая стоит 50 лир, одна карта вам для этой поездки не хватит. Потому что вы потратите эту карту в одну сторону на человека. Либо второй вариант можете купить пустую Istanbulkart и пополнить ее смотря сколько поездок будет у вас. Истанбулкарт действителен 1-год)
The metro line a bit complicated in my opinion, I rather choose bus or taxi for my convenient, anyway, thanks for this vlog.

I'm sorry for the late reply. But still no progress. 2 days ago, the Minister of Transport said that we will open the Gayrettepe - Kağıthane section in the next few months. Maybe it will open on October 29, Republic Day, there is no definite information.

When the Gayrettepe station of the M11 opens in April, there will be no need to use the M7.

Hi, Just as the final stages are over and 1-2 days are left for the opening, the Minister of Transport said in the live broadcast of the TV that the Gayrettepe station will be opened in the coming months. I even saw the last great photos but unfortunately they haven't been opened yet

Could you please tell me the best way to reach Taksim square from the airport, and also back to the airport from Taksim Square? I've read the bus is the best way from the airport to Taksim square, but how do I reach the airport back? Where to take the bus from?

Hi yes you are right. The best way going to Taksim Square by bus. There is a bus station havaist in the same place at Taksim Square.
Why did you get off at the Taksim stop? Is this updated?

Hi you need to get off at Vezneciler metro station on M2 line. The total cost will be apr. 25 turkish liras
Seems like you are walking forever. I would have been lost more than once.

Teşekkür ederim. Aslında ilk videom yani Sabiha Gökçen metrosu açıldığında çektiğim videoda hiç konuşmadım. Ve bir yabancı arkadaşım dedi ki: keşke anlatıp veya yazı ile insanları nerden nereye geçiyorsun yönlendirseydin. Tabi o zaman montaj programına da bu kadar hakim değildim. Ama bu videoda biraz farklılık istedim ve artık görseller de ekleyerek ingilizce çektim :)

It does, but not all. Credit card usage is valid in the more advanced machines we call Biletmatik 2.

The exact opening date of Gayrettepe station is unknown. It's just called April 2023. As a fee, empty Istanbulkart is 50 TL(2,63 USD) and 9,90 TL(0,52 USD) for each use. But with the same trip, the fee is less for transfers.
