I have a mini schnauzer who will be 15 this year. When I got him we didn’t know anything about dogs. To this day he still is very feisty and will bark at people and dogs. I was 18 when I got him, I’m 33 now. I used to be so embarrassed by his behavior lol but it’s like he doesn’t know any better and neither did I. lol At this point he is a old man and I just let him be. lol Kudos to you for taking the time out with Juno and Java! ❤

Girl I am going through reactive puppy struggles right now too and it is so frustrating and heartbreaking! I have a pitbull so he has very little room to display those behaviors so definitely feel you when you said it's hard when you're trying your best. They will overcome!!

Schnauzers were primarily bred to guard homes and their humans. And they can be very protective. He’s still a puppy, reactivity isn’t easy but it’s going to take work and it won’t be fixed overnight. Socialization isn’t just taking him around other dogs, socialization can be as simple as sitting outside of a dog park (preferably further away and work your way up closer but don’t go in.) and rewarding him when he focuses on you. Also some dogs just don’t like other dogs and there’s nothing wrong with that. But you can teach him to tolerate them. I have a dog who’s reactive towards other dogs because we’ve been attacked by so many off leash dogs so I feel your pain. And It will get better if you put in the work.

“Because, Java is crazy” 🤣🤣 I literally have a toy Poodle she’s 3 but she is EXTREMELY reactive!! & it’s soooo annoying! She barks at everyone, everything, every noise. It’s super annoying but I love my baby so much & will seek training for her. I honestly thought it was just a normal thing because, I’ve only had big dogs my whole life and I know littler dogs are more fiesty so I’ve adapted to her behavior. She’s the sweetest baby but you’re making me realize that it’s not that normal. You’re definitely taking the right steps by seeking training for him.

It’s so frustrating! I’m hoping since he is so young we can get it corrected. I’m also gonna neuter him. He tends to be dominant most times. Some reactive behaviors aren’t normal in excess. Could be due to stress, anxiety, fear and plenty of other things. Just wanna get him the help he needs to be a happy confident adult dog! ❤️

I got two dogs as well but my second dog is also reactive. So I understand your frustrations and walking them separately and training them separately helps. My first dog was so easy and well behaved and my second dog is a little wild due to her previous owner. But it’s so hard at times.

😫 my 5 year old schnauzer, Jackson, has been acting like Java since he was a puppy. I spent $3500 on training for him and it did absolutely nothing. It’s so annoying but with him being my 3rd schnauzer, they’ve all acted this way. Schnauzers are usually very vocal, protective and stubborn, but some have a calm temperament like Juno. I have faith that Java can be corrected! I think you caught it in time, so cheers to you mama! Everything will be alright 💕

You can put a white shelf over the area you aren’t doing anything to. And change the hangers to the velvet one and put shoes on the shelf or whatever

If you like sprite, the olipop lemon lime is pretty close to it but the olipop vintage cola is really good!

So glad I’m not the only one experiencing this with a puppy. My dog will be one next month and she’s gotten to the point where when we go outside and see other dogs, she’ll act crazy. Not barking, but more so whining and trying to get to them and play and I’ve become so frustrated 😭

Hi friend! What I have found helped with dogs is when they get their basic in house training with following commands; you should take them outside where there are more distractions. This really tests their attention to you and only you as their master (for lack of a better word). Oh, and bring treats!!

I have a 2 year old blue nose and she is no longer reactive when other dogs are around.

I went to my local mall in CT the other day and realized we have a Warby Parker. I was like, "The ONLY reason why I know what this is is because of Alexis." 😭🤣

I just got a puppy who is 5mo old, and he is so reactive to everything also. it’s incredibly debilitating especially in an apartment! we’re getting him training too. I also heard the leash can cause the reactivity
