New Hoyas Added To My Collection This Year | Nine Plants Plus More On The Way | Plant Unboxing
Hello friends! Welcome or welcome back to my channel. In this video, I'm sharing with you all of the new Hoyas I added to my collection, SO FAR, this year :). There are 9 new Hoya I will be showing you in this video. Some were purchased because of the blooms they produce. Some were for the leaf shape, color, or size. And some are a combination of all those traits. In addition...I will also be unboxing a new Hoya that I received that day!
I hope you enjoy seeing all the new Hoyas I've recently added to my collection.
Thanks for watching!!!

Hope all the new babies are doing great….sorry about those spider mites on the Hoya B! Glad you have back ups of that one…..from your props! Big hugs…..we close Tuesday and then crunch time…..oh and the one that Paul and now you got looks really nice…..like the leaf shape…..! Happy for you butterfly! 🦋🩵tina

I'll do another video like this one and maybe I'll have an uboxing of some different ones for you as well :). Thank you so much and I'm soooo happy for you :). Can't wait to see the new setup!!!! Love, Gena.
Some great Hoyas I love the silvery ones too

Thank you so much Sylvia 🥰. I hope you have a great week too!!!! 💕💕💕
I also buy small cuttings of hoyas, this makes my life easier as they root in semi-hydro and stay in that medium. Hoyas in soil do not adapt easy to semi-hydro. Very beautiful selection of hoyas! When they bloom, it will be spectacular.
@ThePinkTrellis
Ай бұрын
Oh yes...I do the same. I have never tried going soil to semi-hydro. I've only done cuttings from the get-go. Thank you so much!!! I hope I'm able to show you guys the blooms one day :).
Hi Gena, your new hoyas are really beautiful, nice to add hoyas according to their flowers especially the pink one! ❤😊

Hi Gena! Very pretty new Hoyas! The flowers will be something to look forward to too. How you manage to take care of all your plants amazes me. I’ve reached my limit time and space wise and am trying to buy less. There’s nothing like a new plant though!

It amazes me too LOL. I'm way busier these days watering things. It used to be twice a week...now it seems I have to water something every day. It's the Begonias!!!! And a lot of plants in the grow tent. Thanks, Cheryl!!!! :)

Root mealies are the worst for me, because I don't notice them until much later usually, but when they are on the leaves, I agree that they are easy to get rid of. Small cuttings are the way to go! Nice new additions :) Prism Pink is my favorite!
@ThePinkTrellis

That's why it's so important to remove all the soil because if you see the mealies on the leaves/plant...they are definitely in the soil as well. Totally...love the small cuttings :). Thank you so much!!!!

Heheh...thanks Jamie :).
Oh, I had forgotten to mention that the new hoya I have is Hoya lobbi, which has a very dramatic dark reddish purple flower, but it is fussy like polyneura. It is in a sel-watering pot with a wick, so that I can keep some moisture in the pot at all times. Big Mac I keep fairly moist, except in winter when it can dry slightly. My Bic Mac was in a tiny plastic pot inside of a tight cache pot, which I allowed some water to stay on the bottom, but never allowing the soil to get soggy.
@ThePinkTrellis
Ай бұрын
Interesting….the leaf doesn’t look like it would be a fussy one! The flower is very pretty too. Probably not one I’ll add because leaf and flower aren’t “different” enough to justify its space in the tent lol. My Big Mac ended up being three cuttings and I split them up into three pots and stuck them right into the grow tent. I’ll keep in mind that they enjoy more water. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention 💚💚💚.
Love them all Gena ✨ The blooms are so beautiful💐 Haven't add any 🌿in a while,but I have a list in mind ..... 💚🌵🍀🌿💚

Great new hoyas, Gena 🩷🌸 I've been adding some thinner leaved hoyas. I've definitely discovered that I like the small and thin leaved hoyas more than the larger leafed ones. Examples: campanulata, chewiorum, manipurensis, caudata Sumatra. But I must admit that my mixed pot of bella is really floating my boat right now! I wonder if it's going to flower this year 🤔 🤞
@ThePinkTrellis

Thanks, Aubrey! Gonna have to check out the chewiorum....haven't heard of that one. Oh I hope it blooms for you!!!! My plain bella is currently blooming.
I love my Hoya Lyi Prism with pink flowers. I have had four new leaves and they are a dark Burgundy as teeny buds and then once they open they are pink. This is my most favorite Hoya. If the doorbell rings I either get up or ignore. I also don't open the door if the timing isn't right. I am friendly but not social. I have really changed through the years! 😂! I only buy small leaf hoya because I enjoy them staying small. I fear pests and am holding my breath! Thank you Gena. I enjoy you and your videos.

You'll get them eventually...it's inevitable. They can even come in through window screens!!! Big tip...don't bring cut flowers into your home...they can have thrips on them!!!! Thanks so much Tamra...so glad you enjoy them :).

I love the Hoya lyi, but I am afraid to buy it. The flower is beautiful, but I think my dry environment would kill it or it just won’t grow. You’re braver than I. I’ll see how you do with the new pink prism, before I pull the trigger on Hoya lyi. Wow, you are adding some sensational flower type Hoyas to your collection! I am impressed. OMG, the ‘Macgillivray’, they call it the ‘Big Mac’. The Hoya pandurata is my next wishlist plant.

Oh my goodness, I was spoilt by a plant friend who has an incredible hoya collection, she sent me about a dozen cuttings of uncommon hoyas... Definitely don't talk to everyone who comes to the door. 😂 in the South if someone knocks on the door, we're like who's at that door. We even have cameras now so it's even worse 😂 my son can even make the Google say "sorry we can't come to the door right now" through the doorbell. I am the same way about Hoyas. Only the ones I think are beautiful. I have 5 hoya. Two of them have finally grown a new leaf this year

I'm surprised people still go door-to-door. It's so incredibly annoying when it's something other than a neighbor stopping by for something LOL. My neighbor across the street has a camera and setup that sounds like what you are describing. A bit after you ring the doorbell, and they don't come to the door, it will send out a message like what yours says. After a while of collecting you kinda have to start being picky about what you can bring in due to limited space. I bet next year your 5 will absolutely take off :).

This was the vid for me! I'm such a Hoya Head. Strangely not that much into the silver, YET, but that serpens got me. Also the one with the Burgundy flower is a show stopper. I had to laugh out loud when u talked about going midevil on those mealies! Love it!

Hi Gina. I already have both those huge blooms. The Hoya lauterbachii pink the bloom are huge one I order them in spring. I also got the one you got on your package . But red ones mine I just repot yesterday. Is getting big. I'm gonna need a trellis for mine soon, which is a fast growing hoyas. I agree with you on bugs each in plants. Soon, I get mine. I actually repot them & put pest control on the roots plus in their leaves 🍃 😅 that's what I was doing all day yesterday. Repotting & putting them in their cute pots. I use Captain Jack. For spray on their leaves & for the Roosts each I use Sytemic houseplants insect control. Is good for 2 to 3 months. Then I do it all over again. I also got oil & soap for plants each. Do you have pink princes or a Sygonium albo. For next month? Thank you 😅❤
@ThePinkTrellis

Has yours bloomed????? I remembered after filming that the blooms were the reason for buying and the softness of the leaves was a BONUS :). Repotting is very necessary I think. Sounds like you have a great pest prevention method! I won't have the Syngonium albo...I don't think. I'm pretty sure I'm out of those. But I should most likely have a pink princess. Thank you!!!

@ThePinkTrellis Ooooh, I'm so excited about the pink princess 👸 💗 . Omg, I bought some ftom etsy is tinny plus is 60 bucks all together & is almost dead when it arrives is hunging on for its life. It is still alive & is not growing. Lol. So I kind of not want to order to etsy on the pink princess. I'm disappointed in it. I tried others, but she never had a stocked every time it was always sold out. Ugh. Let me know when you put plants in your store what day each. The Hoyas no bloom yet. But it is getting big. I got this feeling it will bloom around fall. I'm feeding it a lot this summer, which is getting big. I'm excited for it to bloom . I can't wait to see the flowers 😅👍. I'm crazy plants lady. & chickens 🐔 lol I'm also trying to hatched chocolate mottled chicks. But I don't think this rooster is doing its job 🤔 or might be too early to check . Eggs aren't fertilized
Camphorifolia is on my wishlist still. I have gone overboard on hoya purchases recently though so it could be a while before I get that one unless I see a great price.

Hi! That’s so awesome that you’ve recently acquired a bunch of one of the best genuses out there! Care can be dependent upon your environment, but the general rule is don’t overwater. Give bright indirect light. The brighter the better. Fertilize according to the season. There is so much info out there on Hoyas so just do a google search on Hoya care and you will find a ton of information. Congrats on your new collection!!!!
My most recent purchases are Louisa’s Silver which I got because my Lacunosa Super Silver died a tragic death. I’m hoping this one will survive in my care. I also got a heuschkeliana albomarginata. I have tried several inner varigated heuschkeliana with no luck, they have all gotten root rot. So I’m giving this version a try. So far so good. I have high hopes for this one. 🥹 Your new Hoya are so nice! Having a grow tent is a big plus! I don’t have room - in fact I am running out of room on my shelves and window sills. So I’m being very selective with new purchases. Luckily small leaved Hoya are my favorite. 🌱😍🩷
@ThePinkTrellis

I feel like the inner-variegated heuschkeliana has more variegation so perhaps that makes it a weaker plant???? Just a possibility. Hopefully the albomarginata does better for you.
