Games during this time all had an evil, dark and gritty theme to them. It was a recurring theme all throughout the mid to semi-late 2000’s. Games now are made to be colorful and shiny to appeal to younger audiences.

Did 4yrs of military service and i love GOW so much. The military humor, slander on higher command i.e. prescott, Governments doing shady stuff etc. It is all too accurate

I'll take "games I shouldn't have been playing when I was a kid" for 50 😂That room at the end with all the sires gave me nightmares for weeks

There were so many unsettling questions left unanswered here. They sent Delta here to find the Nexus. Why would a classified government science facility have that specific location? Why were the grubs just hanging around and Niles barely mentions them? (if at all...) How was Niles powered up for so long? Wouldn't the power lines have been cut? Wtf was razor hail? (That is straight up demonic weather 😂) And most of all, how did Baird fit that huge blast charge in the Centaur?

I can’t answer the other questions, but natural forces like the weather and atmosphere can get crazy. Normal hail can actually kill people if the ice is big and hard enough. And heavy artillery like tanks usually carry heavy ordinance like c4. They’re military so explosives is a must have.

Remember Prescott was still leader , so he probably gathered all the information that he knew (thanks him to being the chairman) and gab Diaz , etc ukkon etc

I experienced this mission once over a decade ago and its one of the best parts of the gears franchise imo. Still comes to mind when I think of Gears!

Two things: 1.) I wished Gears 5 made mentions about Dom. 2.) I wish there were a game that centers around Niles and New Hope, sort of like shady dealings.

I knew wasn't the only one. New hope is literally my favorite part of gears lure. Having a game or even a show about it would be amazing

Yeah like a game that has a gears squad acting as security at new hope during the locust extermination of all the scientists and you play as the leader of the squad. Horror elements can be added too.

Niles was so sassy in this mission Goes from annoying to odd To sassy then to dying robot voice… But yah I remember play this mission with my older brother and get so Annoyed by the amount of sassy niles gave us. But yah it was the most, creepy spooky mission of the whole game to me.
