Alot of people are quick to judge this heritage and the people who live this way of life, but credit where it's due the respect for family, friends and loved ones is second to none! Love to see the way everyone works together. Simplicity in it most effective form.

I'm Romany on my father's side but Puerto Rican/ Taino on my mother's side. It's tradition in my mother's family to have the dead sit in the places they loved with the things they loved during the funeral. They will be setup for days and it's normal to us. It's like the last party with them. It's crazy how similar cultures can be. I wonder if there are other cultures that do this also.

I am so sorry this lovely family was targeted by a bunch of complete assholes. All they were doing was honouring their dear parents. As for the people who were hunting for meat that is fine as well. I am a vegan but I would never presume to tell anyone how to live. These people love their families and have a strong sense of community. This is sadly lacking in todays society. Compassion and tolerance are the only way forward for the future of our planet and all people. Thanks for this great series.

i remember back in the day back home, the Gypsies used to come round our way and camp on the bombed out ground and my Nanna would wait for one or another to walk past with which she would give a couple of coppers and ask for them to give her some Gypsy luck. gone are those days.

I am so glad you posted these it really makes me miss my family who came to the USA to a Traveler settlement in Georgia in the late '60s..My father is a US citizen but my mother was deported back to Europe and I lost touch. I grew up in foster care because I was born in the US...the authorities could not contact my birth father. My uncles worked in the horse trade as Alpharetta Ga is where there are many staples

I'd love to have gypsy blood use are seen like a nuisance because use won't let the government control u or ppl are to stuck up there arse the think there better just coz they have cash or a house but use.are true human beings use all have morals, rules, culture, herratige, hygiene, hard workers and discipline not to mention pride in themself if my son or niece grow to be like use I know I'd done a great job well done to all gypsy familys (use r misunderstood)

Its hawks and they do it in many countries in Europe, in India, many Arab countries and China. I am sure I have forgotten some, but it is, or used to be very popular for higher status people. Normally poor people did not hunt with birds as they take so much training and cost a lot of money. Ferret hunting or sending dogs down the holes is still a thing in the UK in the countryside.

Lovely, salt of the earth people, with a lot of faith. I see many similarities with my roots & family in Texas. The love of family, nature, animals, and living off the land. Hardworking people. It is terrible that travellers face discrimination. In TX, we would handle intruders & thieves in another way. We are all armed. These are very good, respectful people. 🙏

I have used chainsaws for over 20 years... As Tony shows his son how to use a chainsaw, well I'm sorry to say, Tony himself does not know how to use a chainsaw correctly, and is in no position to teach his son on his way of chainsaw use, which is an incredibly dangerous way to use a chainsaw, for a start his chain isn't even correctly tensioned for safe use, also his technique when on the log is totally wrong and Dangerous, unfortunately he does not know the sheer danger he is teaching his son very much incorrectly.... I mean absolutely "NO" disrespect in my comment, as my comment is of great concern for their safety when using a chainsaw... When one does not know, then how can one teach???

If tiny is smart . He could make money by clearing the land and making it a rentable traveler site . Free from the watchful eyes of the others in the local communities. They can live how they want be because the land lord is a traveler and knows and respects the traditions. They should make gypsy schools for the kids they learn to read write do math but the boys will go to learn local trades and horse riding and the girls home economics ( cleaning cooking sewing) and ancient traditions of the culture like dances languages ways of dress etc.

Marie showing the pegs brought back a long forgotten memory for me. I remember that a Romani lady came around twice a year to sell pegs, brushes, brooms and cleaning utensils. My Mum always bought something of her, and I remember being fascinated with her long full skirts, head scarf and colourful outfit. That was in the late sixties. Mum said it is good luck to buy from gypsies. Back then we never had trouble with them.

But if you are a Gypsy, it should be YOUR responsible to keep the other travelers in check. Their reputation lives our dies with them. Ther tried to steal things at our local WalMart, but we were tipped off in advance of their arrival. Cops in all exits. Some caught with clothes, kids with toys and candy, and teens with phones. The Jail was packed that night.

I don't get why people paints everyone with the one brush some people are just stuck up there own arses and has nothing better to be doing than just talking about other people don't judge people until you really get to know them don't just judge them streight away the min you see them they are just as different than you . Just because they are gypsies doesn't mean anything like use are buffer's if you understand what I mean not all gypsies are the same just because you see other gypsies doing this that and the other doesn't mean they are all like it . It's the same as buffer's when you u see them doing all different kinds of things it doesn't mean all buffer's are the same you can't judge a book by its cover if you see a buffer doing this that and the other do you think there all the same and they most do the same thing just because you seen a that one person doing all different kinds of things would you judge or paint all off them with the one brush
