What modular helmet would you choose?

I'd like to know, I've been searching for the best all around Modular helmet. I have a cheap one and I'm looking to upgrade. I tried on the neotech 2 and it felt amazing. Should I stop searching and just get it? I kinda like the new HJC that came out for the price. The rpha 91

@@garrett1144 without a doubt, I can say that if you purchase the neotec 2 you won't be disappointed. Is it absolutely the best one for the specific features you're after? Maybe, maybe not. What it is is a well built, well thought out, well refined helmet that will last you for years without regret

@@cmelochick Thanks! I knew it would be a great choice as soon as I put it on. The problem is the stores rarely have all of these models available to try on and I need an XL or XXL on some. I'm still curious for the money, if the new HJC would be worth it for a few hundred dollars less.

I find the Shoei helmets excellent; I'm using the Shoei GT Air because I sometimes have to ride in the heat, and it provides excellent airflow.

Very good video.I bought before 6 months ago a Shcuberth C5.I used it for two tours for 400-500 kilometers.I'm very disapoited with heavy(1.780gr) with sena SC2.It's very quiet helmet but is unacceptable how heavy it is.Never used it again.Also I imagine and Neotec it's the same. I use my new HJC R-pha 71 carbon with integrated Sena and I am excited!!!!

I have a Shoei Neotec II. It’s a great helmet, all day comfortable and quiet. The helmet fixtures and fittings are quality with a resounding click for chin bar and visor operation. When I first got the helmet I struggled with the sizing as it was really tight for a large. The dealer swapped out the skull cap for the largest size (there are three skull caps available for each size of helmet)and it’s now perfect.

Good point! Shoei offers multiple pad sizes to fit all head shapes, sometimes have to mix and match to get the perfect fit!

I have a Neotec 2 in the hi vis yellow/black. It is a bit heavy but it is a very very good helmet.

I own a Neotec 2, i am using a cardo packtalk bold, i used the mounts for the SRL to mount my cardo. Without any jerryrig rituals.

@@4KMotoring nope, first remove the left side of the SRL cover on the Neotec 2, then use the cardo 'clip' mount, not the sticky 3m plate. Push it in from below

Do you have a chance to measure how wider is AGV in the middle of the shield to Neotec? I have GT Air 1 and I wonder if there is big difference when laying on the tank how much to see towards the road. I consider Neotec 3 and this AGV Sportmodule.

You will love the Shoei Neotec II. I have had mine since 2017 with the Sena made for it. I have been in all types of weather, and it has performed tremendously. It's a bit heavier, but the weight goes away while riding. Wish the pin lock was wider like my Arai Corsair 7 I had previously. No head shakes or buffering. No hotspots or leaks, even in a downpour or cold winters. No balaclava is needed. Let me know how it works for you.

I'll be doing a more comprehensive review later, but there definitely are some pros and cons. Overall I'm happy with the switch!

Thanks for the video. There is supposed to be a NeoTec III coming soon. I was looking at this Helmut too. Can I ask. Do you where earplugs and how do you find the weight is compared to the AGV?

Shoei has not announced the new Neotec 3 but it's definitely coming with the new ECE standard out. I found this graphic that matched my bike so well so I went ahead and got it before my trip. With the AGV, I did have to wear earplugs because the sound was obnoxious behind my windshield. The Shoei is significantly quieter, I mean significantly. I Don't usually wear ear plugs with this helmet because it is noticeably quieter. As for the wait, holding them in each hand you can tell a difference in weight but it is incredibly well balanced and doesn't make much difference once it's on your head

Just ordered the Same Helmet and colour along with the Cardo Edge to go with My Multi V4. so will be interested if you do a fitting Vid for the Edge on that helmet.

I would have, but there was honestly nothing at all special about it. Is a very typical universal intercom mount. I attached the adhesive pad to the side of the helmet where I could still access the sun visor slider, everything installed just as it would on any showy with any universal system.

@@4KMotoring after looking at another couple of Vids I'll likely try the clip for a week or two without modding the helmet (as seen in a few) then go for the Adhesive pad as a final Install.

Nice helmet great match with your bike! Did you install the akra full system? Is it as good as everybody’s said?

Will the weight of SHOEI NEOTEC 2 be uncomfortable for short-distance riding in the city?🤔

Not at all! It's very well balanced, I have no complaints about the weight on short or long trips

Have a question for you: I have been using a Neotec II for the las 4 years with no complain (coming from a GT Air with my MultiStrada), also have install the Cardo Packtalk Bold on the side with the stick attachment.. no problem at all. is time to change for a new one. Bought a Schuberth C5, don't like it. Thinking in a AGV TourModular.. not convince at all. Question: being the Neo II descontinued in 2022, if a buy a NEW one (Neo 2) today, would its life time aprox. of 5 years be near to "expire"?? or it will be a fresh one "model year 2024" ? or a NOS helmet??

Realistically, if you're considering switching back to Shoei for your primary helmet the new neotec 3 should be on your radar with more refinement and latest generation of safety built in. I have played with the tour modular a little bit but not worn it while riding, it seems better built for livability than my sport modular was. That said, it still didn't seem to have the same refinement as the Shoei. Helmet warranties generally run from the date of first sale, sometimes the date of manufacture. The general rule of 5 years is kind of more of a guideline, there are lots of factors that accelerate helmet wear joe timing realistically is based off of usage not static climate controlled storage.

I purchased mine about a year before the third generation came out, otherwise I would have definitely went with the neotec 3.

I'll be wearing my helmet 10+ hours so I would definitely like a light modular like the AVG Sportmodular, but the Neotech II seems so much better in every way. What are your opinions regarding the weight of the Neotech?

The weight of the Neotec 2 isn't something I would worry about. It's superbly balanced and has aerodynamics that reduce felt weight at speed. In my opinion, it's a higher quality helmet to live with for a longer trip

How you getting on eith it? I got the exact same one, and been struggling with loud whistling noise 😢

Strange! I get no notable wind noise from mine. I get wind just to the top of my helmet. Is the noise only when your vents are open?

@@4KMotoring nope, everything closed tight. The whistling is pretty unbearable at higher speads. Good to know yours is quiet, as I bought it on the assumption it was a quiet lid... I might return it to get it looked at under warranty

I would suggest pulling all the pads out and reinstalling them to make sure they're seated correctly as that could cause some whistling, the chin skirt definitely helps cut down a lot of noise. Something I've noticed, I have three of these helmets between personal and work use and they all seem to fit slightly differently, which I find interesting. Unfortunately you may have gotten a bad one.

Did you wrap your bike? I absolutely love the graphics.
