New Han Fiberglass Bow by AF Archery in 3 different Draw Weights - Comparison

Today I test 3 New Han Fiberglass Bows by AF Archery in different poundages, from 25 to 50# and will check what the differences are (besides of course the draw weight) and if higher poundage fiberglass bows make sense. Join me on my trip to find out. The bows in general are great deal for the price, USD70 each, one cannot complain, the performance is great.

You could maybe compare the 25ld one to one of the cheap plastic horse bows. Just to see, both part of beginners market.

They all look nice! My first crab bow made of fibreglass also had this cracking noise… made me a bit insecure that moment… the 40lbs bow seemed to be the nicest amongst this collection! Awesome! Thank you for the review in the freezing cold, dear Armin! 👊😁

Recently I rediscovered how good fiberglass bows are, they are tuff, and more ancient looking than laminated ones, I have a kovàcs Magyar 74# at 30“ and it's very speedy using 650-700grain arrows, and recently got a fiberglass schiytian 57# at 28" a real survival bow.

Surprisingly or not with heavy700 grain arrows it's more efficient than the vègh Turkish...of course with 7-8gpp the Turkish is lightning fast..

I agree on this, they look more authentic, and they aren't sensitive for temperature changes.

I have a few fibreglass bows , and they are great for dropping into the boot of the car and forgetting about... I live in Australia and with the heat If I go shooting with any of my laminate bows I then have to take them with me when getting out of the car (a pain when shopping on the way home). A cheap fibreglass bow and a few arrows in the boot though and I'm set to go.

I ordered mine off their website right after watching this. I have their original Han bow in 45#, so figured I would get the same so I can use the same arrows. I really like AF Archery's bows, the quality is really good for the money. Their shipping is nice and fast (I received my bow before the end of January). My only two complaints with them are the lack of information you get with the bow and the quality of their strings. The string length on their website says 48" and received one that was 124cm, and the center serving was way off center. Does anyone know the intended brace height?

Hey Armin! There is a pin below the nocking point in the syah. I perched this bow 2 weeks ago as my first horse bow after shooting a heavy English long bow since I was 18. The issue I have had with the bow is the string cutting into the nocking point at either end. I emailed AF and they said the pin in the syah is to account for it? However it is digging in a lot and has caused a clicking on fall draw. (I have pics if anyone needs them) Hope this helps, great eyes catching that little pin! Thanks for everything Armin!

@ArminHirmer I'm looking for a bow that's in the assyrian style that is around 200 usd. I tried some different weights and around 50lbs is about right and I don't really know anything about materials.

@@seanfitzgerld803 first off I would say that 50# is not really a beginners bows draw weight, but up to you. 200 USD will be hard. Vegh/Bogar has a laminated Assyrian bow, but they are 350 Euro I think and maybe hard to get in 50#. The others are all even. more expensive. For 200 USD you get most probably a decent fiberglass bow, But I dont know any in Assyrian design

I would suggest that you go to a marine store and buy blocks so that you can rig a 2:1 or 3:1 advantage on your bow drawing setup. I see you struggling to hold the rope while you bend over to read the poundage!
