Hi Jamie, brought back memories this vid has , back in the early nineties the first time I could afford to kit myself out . I bought Steadefast Team England luggage , Daiwa Whisker rods , Daiwa 125m closed face reel and a Shimano but can’t remember the model . Also bought the Octoplus seat box fittings . I remember having to drill holes in each side of my plastic Daiwa seat box to attach them . They were the days must say the whisker rods were fantastic back then . Stay safe and thanks 👍🏻🎣

Same seat box and octoplus legs, I was an Abu fan at the time both rods and reels. My first pole was a Daiwa 8 meter fibre glass effort which weighed a ton but still won me a bit of coin lol Ground bait was always VDE. great memories

CATCH Fishing Channel Yes I have found the mix of 50/50 supercrack bream and gold pro red both van den Eynde on my local reservoir works excellent or if you want to reduce the feed content 25/25 of the above & 50% brown crumb.

also new from VDE is the Feeder bream groundbait, highly recommended for big bream. I have tested it on commercials with no fishmeal at all and caught loads on it. On the subject of bream, there are a lot of new additives in the range, both in liquid boosters and powdered additives.

I cant agree on the statement that it has been constant. Maybe here in Serbia we get the packaging with less quality mix inside, but for example CATCH and CARP FOOD SOURCE is one of many examples where quality dropped significantly. Its basically a 30% quality of how it was few years back. METHOD mix is also lower quality. But overall, VDE is the best groundbait for our waters here considering price/quality. Its not cheap here, its about 3,5e here and dont forget thats more than average pay per hour her. Also one big advantage, they have over 30 types of groundbaits and combinations among them is endless!

@@XzzVttll maybe something to do with the pellets or fishmeal used, as the factory has only just started producing their own pellets again. Whereas in the past few years they had to buy pellets elsewhere for use in mixes.

That was an eye opener mate

One small point to the tank test is the water pressure the deeper the feeder goes is much stronger and forces the water into the tiny air gaps within the mix much quicker with explosive effects. It's something some people don't think of and it's well worth getting the deepest transparent tank and seeing for yourself you might be surprised. Great content as usual Jamie see you soon

Always used VDE groundbaits, others as well, always consistent and does what it says on the tin or bag lol. I'd rather have the food content in so I can decide how much to take out or leave-in. As with anything, the more you use them the more you know how the use them in any given situation. Plus, being the wrong side of 50 there is a little bit of nostalgia associated with VDE as well. Great upload Jamie and nearly as good as those on your Patreon channel mate.👍

I'm a great fan of VDE and wish it was more readily available in the midlands (Coventry) I used to use beet and secret for carp and bream, super black and super red for general canal and super cup, special and secret for the far bank, its great to see you plugging the new stuff and I can't wait for the next episode, another great video Jamie

Hello jamie.Great informative videos,I'm a new subscriber.May I ask is it possible for you to mix the groundbaits the night before or an hour before or both and then test in the tank it would give a better conclusion for each mix but of course still show how it mixes as you do in the other vids. A good reputation vde. I used to use supercup and turbo many years ago.

Try gold medal baits , Clive bransons , the smell is addictive and the black maj creates a great cloud

Another great video Jamie. Love these groundbait ones. I have got hold of alot of sensas groundbaits including lake and magic. Do you know if these contain fishmeal as the packaging is all foreign.

the feeder range is all cereal based, but you can add fishmeal to them such as expander gold, carpmaster fishmeal or just use the new shellfish booster liquid ;)

Hi Jamie, another great tank test. Very nostalgic for me as always used VDE through out the late 80s and 90s. Always did what it said and the way you could combine the different mixes to meet your needs from lake, slow river, canal or large fast rivers and that included their additives including Bressam and pigeon poo. Sadly harder to get hold of now. Need to find a decent stockist for when were allowed back out.

Got a question Jamie, back in the day it was considered a real no, no to use tap water in your groundbait, do you think it’s detrimental r it makes no difference when mixing at home?

I use tap water most of the time, especially when mixing the night before, or just before I leave for a match, never had any issues with it.

Hi Jamie. Would it be safe to assume that preparing this mix considerably earlier than the all in, would render those floating particles too heavy to surface?

I'd recommend mixing at least 1 hour before fishing for all the particles to absorb. During the testing stage I found this the perfect resting time, as stated on the bag, 3 mix regime. I wet the mix, riddle then leave for 30 minutes, then repeat the process with a little more water riddle, then leave to rest again, then add the final amount of water to the consistency needed. The large red and yellow particles in the Sweet carp mix are our Sinking Crumbs, a great product used in Europe in most mixes for extra feed. Record sweet is another mix I tested before it's release this year, I caught a lot of big roach, bream and tench on it. I used it on its own to see what the results were like. Even though it has no fishmeal content, it still had enough pulling power to keep fish active and also the fish seem to stay over the feed.

Graham Nash If you want the best results make it the night before in a big bucket in the 3 stages this will then make the bait inert so not so active the day of fishing. Then when you get to the bank spray the mix to bring it back to how damp you want it depending on venue. Hope this helps
