We are writing the year 2021 but petrol cars start to sound good again, so there is still hope for all us petrolheads! Of course this car is AWD but it also features a tricky torque vectoring system at the real-axle which not only enables the "Drift Mode" but also seems to have a positive effect on traction in Launch Control mode! Btw you can have a manual if you dont like it . For my opinion , if it is not about dsg .. i dont think many would love golf ... Might better go for a class , audi or type R ...

@@nvl2691 nah, i'd rather buy a new golf rather than buying a cheap used car with bad condition. There's not much better cars out there and the used market doesn't have him covered. Golf is good for it's price. Comparing the price of it with like the new a45s and rs3 it's way cheaper than them and the performance isn't really that bad. It's also very reliable. Stop hating on vw

@@EternalEngine24 Sources? Cars have been getting more and more boring. Drift mode is a poor excuse for oversteer, which many older hot hatches could perform if provoked enough (ex. Fiesta ST150, Fiat Punto GT Turbo...) Granted, the new hatches might be faster and more efficient, but they suffer from terrible sound (compare the new Type R's sound to the older EP3 and FN2 Type Rs - the true K20s with the 8200-8300 rpm rev limiters in Europe) and utter lack of character, as well as questionable looks (as much as I love Honda, the new Type R is obnoxious and filled with fake plastic vents)

For the very first time, since a long, long time ago I can say I see Golf as an exciting car! Just look at the back of the Golf! I've never thought I would say a Golf is looking attractive. I've always thought of it as a practical hatchback and nothing else. Good job! But I was hoping for better sound...

@Ray Be kind to others, it goes a long way well I mean If you take the badge out of the occasion its got more power a real non haldex all wheel drive system and it sounds better in my opinion plus a drift mode so yeah I would say from a driving prospective its a more desirable car.

@@sammgaming676 just because it's got a drift mode doesn't mean it isn't Haldex. The question is whether they actually improved it or only added a drift mode. The old one was unpredictable on a track, and in fact that Haldex system was one of the main reasons the R and its related brethren (S3, RS3) have always been slow track cars for their power. The other big reason being (still is) the subpar chassis when it comes to performance applications.

VAG! Please do the service action for all models with GPF from 2018 and 2019!!! All of them are naturaly broken!
If we compare this MK8R with the other MK7.5R with Akrapovic exhaust that you tested, we hear that the explosive upshifts have decreased. There is a lot of muffler echo added also like a failing whistle

Richtig. Kein Soft-Limiter im Stand und er hält die Gänge im Nürburgring-Mode.
Sound´s better than my mk7 GTI
Ordered! I like the 11.5 Sec. 100-200 km/h = impressive in comparison to my stock MK7R without OPF 310HP. Never got him unter 12.3 Sec.

@@Automann-TV Hopefully. I really did love the Facelift R Golf 7. In 2017 I also loved the DSG Farts, but at some point I was a little bit annoyed of it. So I think I´ll like that the Farts will not be as present as before.

Sounds more quiet compared to the 7.5 R Akrapovic. Doesn't explode as loud anymore with the upshifts.

Der sound ist für die EU Richtlinien und Co schon echt nice aber ich bevorzuge dennoch den 7er da kann man mit apr und sonstigem richtig geilen Klang rausholen besonders aus den Modellen ohne opf da gibt es dann auch oft das schöne dsg "furzen" wie es viele nennen aber dennoch sehr gutes Video👍
Herrlich, das ulkige Geknalle im Wald klingt teils als ob einer wie bleede mit der Scheppkelle auf ein Wellblech einhämmert. Für mich klingen die meisten OPF Kisten irgednwie so wie wild furzende Staubsauger, die einer am Rüssel über übers Bordsteinpflaster zerrt. und der Klang im Innenraum is grausam synthetisch... ach das waren noch Zeiten! 🙃 Nicht desto trotz ist Automann immer feiner Content! 👍 Frohes Fest...🎅

I’d say that’s more a power slide vs a drift let’s see another vid with that this can do.
Those pops and bangs alone don’t make it justice to the R, that almost stock exhaust isn’t beefy enough!

@@nashbrucewemmer2446 Yes but this new setup is a big difference from that. You can make 100% of the power go to the rear wheels which you will be able to drift. I just meant a whole video on drifting is not really necessary but yes it would be fun to see someone drifting it. I'm sure many guys will be posting that soon. Its not a huge selling feature for people I don't think based on what I've read on KZread that some are saying.
