NEW! Glendale’s Peterbilt 520 Amrep ASL Garbage Truck

Фильм және анимация

After buying Autocar for a while, Glendale decided to purchase two of these 520's. However it is unclear why they did, as all of their former rapid rails were gone before these Peterbilts came in. Perhaps they're looking to have more Curbtenders as spares? Regardless, these units are pretty cool and it's always nice to see a change of cab. Although I do wish these units had the classic mirrors on them, I also find it funny how they downgraded with space in the cab. The Autocar ACX has much more room in the cab and is way more comfortable, but the Peterbilt 520 is known to feel tighter with space in the cab.
On this day, this was this truck's eighth day in service. We asked the driver how he felt about his new truck, and he was pretty satisfied with it. I hope Glendale buys more of these whenever they decide to get rid of some Curbtenders.

Great video, can’t go wrong with a speedy Amrep! That yellow arm coupled with the blue and gold stripes looks very nice in my opinion. I’m curious as to why they decided to go with Peterbilt too, but at least the driver likes it. Nice camera work as well, keep up the great work!

Thanks! The unique Glendale stripes are a very nice touch to these units. I’m curious too, but I’m glad the driver has no problem with it. Thanks for the comment!

Never thought Glendale would go Peterbilt Amrep, nice change for sure though. As with any Amrep ASL, always born violent. Operator definetly seemed a bit inexperienced with the Amrep controls, an LA Operator would have finished all of Glendale and knocked out some more around Griffith Park too! I wonder how these Toters will stand up to the Amrep abuse as the years go by. Nice video as usual!

Oh yeah, no doubt an LA driver would’ve knocked this out with a lot of time to spare. I think the older Toters will hold up, but the new ones won’t be able to stay in one piece. Thanks for the comment bro!

An LA driver would leave half these cans on the ground while knocking over a few and leaving them halfway in the street

If they didn't use Toters, those lids would be destroyed. That thing slams them so hard.

Peterbilts are no doubt a cheaper option, but I’d be curious to see how the drivers like these compared to the Xpeditors they’ve been driving for years now...

I definitely think they’ll go back to buying Autocar after these haha, they look nice but I imagine they aren’t as comfy as the Autocars.

@@northcentralrefuse4485 Peterbilts actually jump less and are comfier but autocar has better maneuvering
