In addition, the German Navy has a number of smaller vessels, such as the Braunschweig-class corvettes and the Frankenthal-class minehunters, which are used for coastal defense and mine countermeasures. I've served in the German Navy from 1993 to 2001. I have served on Fast Patrol Boats class 148 (open bridge), a submarine class 206A, one Auxiliary German Intelligence (my best time ever), and several Mine Hunters, class 332. After watching your video, it feels like I served on Apollo 13 back then and now everyone serves onboard Star Track units. But, hack, I still know how to use a sextant. Thank you very much for this video!

    I like the latest subs and frigates - reckon Oz should have those subs for defence around the northern islands leaving the AUKUS nuke subs to guard the long ocean trade routes - all under the umbrella of the amazing Australian battlefield command system.

    As much as I like the german Navy because I serverd in it there are several inaccuracys. Bremen Class is out of service by now (also 10 months ago) and was desingned and started to built in the 70s not the 80s. Brandenburg Class Frigattes can reach up to 29 Knots which equals to 54 km/h or 33 mph

    First, it's Deutsche Marine now, Kriegsmarine is what it was called in Nazi Germany. And yes, it was limited during the cold war. That's why older subs like the 209 class actually have comparable tonnage to the WW2 Type XXI.

    Sadly the German military faces constant cutbacks. Of all their subs, according to reports in Spiegel, barely four are actually seaworthy. The same applies to their tank corps.

    @@achimkrull7165 4 out of 6 is absolutely okay though. Even 3 out of 6 would be okay. Normally you have up to half your subs and ships going through maintenance, repairs and refits. The Tanks are another thing. Roughly 90 were combat ready in February. about ~100 are currently undergoing upgrades from A6 to A7V status and are at the companies doing the upgrades. Leaving about 135. Now, it sounds devastating, but you've gotta keep in mind, that german Tanks have to adhere to the German Vehicle Code. Meaning if one break light does not work properly, it's "out". And Stuff like that constantly breaks. Which means, Tanks are rotated in and out of maintenance for minor repairs that are usually done within an hour. But because much of the maintenance was outsourced to civilian contractors (aka Rheinmetall & KMW), there's always a huge backlog of tanks that need those minor repairs, or just regular maintenance. I've been in a Heavy Logistics Batallion from 2006-2008, when the Brigades Wiesel Tankettes had problems, we were the ones to organise transport to the maintenance depot. And oh boy, it was silly most of the time. Loading up around 5-10 each month, the majority of those with silly stuff that could've been done by a monkey with a wrench within an hour or two. Up to Code to drive on the german public roads? No. Combat worthy? Absolutely.

    How Human Nature Works Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial. Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful. Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”

    Are German frigate destroyers? Destroyer - Wikipedia The three frigates of the Sachsen-class (F124), which entered service in 2004-2006, replaced these last ships of the German Navy, which were designated as destroyers. Due to their equipment and the ability to be able to fulfill orders single-handedly, many textbooks classify the Sachsen-class as a de facto destroyer. German frigate is like Arleigh Burke class armed

  • @onionring8206

    @onionring8206

    11 ай бұрын

    Yes, due to size and capability most other nations would classify the Sachen and Baden-Württemberg class as a destroyer but germany uses the denomination of Frigat due to the kind of negative conotation the word destroyer or Zerstörer (in german) had and still has. Another reason for this is the fact that germany consideres it's military as a solely defensive one and calling something a destroyer makes it sound like it is supposed to be initiate hostility. Also post WW2 the definition of ship classes got a little muddled. While before and during the war you could just go with tonnage and armament, now there factor other circumstances in, like being capable of dealing with a task alone or not and so on. There are other reasons but these at least are the big ones.

    @@onionring8206 Shortly before I joined the Bundeswehr, I visited various troop genera. On an excursion I saw the destroyer Rommel and also got an exclusive guided tour. That made quite a difference in my life. Since then I am totally into the Navy but life is not a wishful thinking concert, so I joined operational information 950 btlj strategic reconnaissance command and not the Navy. At the time, I was annoyed. However, during my active time I had the best time ever despite two wars that I actively participated in.
