This thing's amazing and yes it's more expensive than my bow but I'd still be interested if money wasn't an issue. To all the people out there that are complaining about the price, I saw a recurve listed for almost $7,000. If you can buy a stick and string for $7,000 a rangefinder sight that does everything for you at $1,300 isn't too bad.

The sight is more than my bow hunting setup. He did this for the next steel elk target challenge. So he can reach out and try for a 100 yard.

I’m in Canada, a good range finder and sight almost costs the same. I live in BC, the hunts are thick bush and high elevation. I use this sight to save weight/time to make that one shot count the most ethical way possible, with the rail on my Hoyt I can jump back and forth between my Garmin/HHA tetra ryz dead nuts. I love the sight, I’ve never shot my bow more, everyday getting the reps in. It’s heavier than a standard sight but I’m not fumbling for a range finder which is less weight and I’m making that one shot count on the fly, elk down.

People need to stop complaining about the price....just like they have luxury cars and luxury anything else they have high end bow accessories. Their target market isn't entry level, 9-5 hunters or archers. It's high-end and that's how it is. It's an awesome sight and makes you a more ethical hunter by taking any guess work out of the equation. I love mine and would buy another in a heartbeat. Also works awesome inside a blind. I hope it stays legal for as long as possible, its crazy for it to be illegal in some states. The same states also outlaw trail cameras and claim its unfair to the animal. LOL.

This thing looks sweet. One question, when it tells you to take a shot and you take a shot, of course I know it will ask you if you hit the bullseye. When it asks you that, Will it allow you to take 3 or 4 shots before answering that question? Because I personally think it's best to take multiple shots instead of 1 shot before you tell it if you hit the bullseye or not to ensure consistency.

  • @ecrank83

I know this is a year late... But yes you can take multiple shots. The question doesn't go away til you answer it and the pin is still up so you can take several shots to be sure.

I thought this was interesting...until I read the manual. First, every feature I read about said it could only be done the A1i...the $1299 version. So why do they even have a $799 A1? Next, on a $1299 sight, they wanted me to attach their ranging trigger to my bow....with some kind of tape. Seriously? Next, apparently I need to own a small torque wrench just to install the sight, since they note with EVERY screw etc. that it needs to be set with with xx pounds of torque. Finally, the manual says to range by first pulling to maximum draw. Why? Why can't I just hold up the bow with my front hand fully extended and simply range the target first? I don't know, maybe this is the greatest thing since sliced bread....but the manual leaves me wondering about the real value here.

Because you’re combining all of this technology into one device. Leveling technology, rangefinder, apex settings, gps synchronization, etc. There is a lot to unpack here, but it is more than just a range finding sight. Lots of processes simplified for the shooter, which makes it worth it’s weight in gold. I have similar technology on my hunting rifle. It’s worth the cost, yet a lot of people wont justify paying over $1000 when the manual version is substantially cheaper. I don’t blame you here. It’s all about what your budget can tolerate. If money wasn’t an option, I’m sure most of us would have one of these on our compound bows.

  • @dankosek2355

@@ashtonmccants Yes Ashton, I am saying the price should go down overall, because producing 1 product with 4 technologies is cheaper than producing 4 produces with 1 technology each. Even if we just talk about getting rid of 3 product chassis, separate power systems, documentation, etc. The saving can be substantial. Whether we are talking cars or guns, cellphones or TVs (etc), that premise is what drives the majority of price reductions in newer, more technically combine products. As this integration occurs, product marketing, engineering and manufacturing teams takes advantage of new chipsets, mass production changes and know code bases to reduce cost and merged/increased features sets. Garmin is limiting their sales by only taking the top tier of the market. Worse point is that someone will buy one, disassemble it and produce a $600-800 device with most or all of the features and people will buy that instead. If Garmin started at that price range, they would 2xor 3x their sales while limiting the competitors above because they can't cut the price by 40% again. There simply isn't enough margin to get in the middle again. Instead, Garmin has chosen to price gouge and created that middle tier competitor that will damage sales and confuse the market. Bad business all the way around.
