Guided breathing goes as long as you want
All notifications
able to answer/reject calls
Very few false touches from water
Very light design
Waterproof up to 50m
Find my phone/watch with lights
Realign hands
Gorilla glass screen
AMOLED color display under the hands (low res, but pretty bright)
Menstrual cycle tracking
Connected GPS
20mm quick release bands
Good connectivity and always updated weather
Overall, I really like this watch, and am very excited to wear it everyday. I will be comparing this to the Fossil HR in an upcoming review, so please be sure to check that video out!

I have this exact watch and model and like it a lot. It looks relatively small on my wrist, compared to my Apple Watch or Garmin Fenix. So if you have bigger wrists, you may want to try it before you buy. One thing worth mentioning is that you need daylight/good lighting for the watch to really look good as the backgroumd, 12 hour markings, Garmin logo and the hands (except for the tips) are really dark. So it just looks black with few visible details under most non-perfect lighting conditions. Also this wrist band is relativley stiff, at least in the beginning. But I still enjoy wearing it, and try to keep the use of “smart” functions at a minimum. I deactivated the wrist-turn function and hence need to double-tap for the OLED symbols to turn on. This makes it like a good looking stealth analog watch, and I only use the smart functions when it vibrates, i.e. when I received a notification and want to know what it is.

ECG, being over 60 years old and having too many friends have heart attacks, I would like to be able to measure ECG 3. Look of the watch, I agree I dislike look of Apple Watch, Fit Bit etc.... this is like my Withings watch and looks like a regular watch. Finally any recommendations for Hybrid Smartwatch with ECG? Do you have any videos with them?

Since you didn't go really in-depth with the notifications can you please during the comparison show both watches getting phones calls, text, and app notifications. And go over if you can see a call log/missed calls, previous app notifications, text log etc. Other than that amazing review. Just ordered the Luxe, but now I'm holding out till your comparison to see if I made the right choice.

The range of Bluetooth connection is no more than 5 to 6m, I.e. it doesn’t cover a room. This is my observation after 3 days testing with different mobiles and I am still wondering if this is normal. If yes then this is really disappointing because My life’s budget smart band Xiaomi Mi4 is able to cover 3 times bigger distance with same phones. With respect to the gadgets - I would like to set some simple alerts like notification for bad weather (say alert for rain forecast) or hydration. Unfortunately this is not possible. Once a message is received it could be good to have an icon on the screen to show the status “unread message” The feature however is not present on the display appearance menu. I am using IOS so the message reply limitation is still not resolved. My personal opinion is that the “Style” version doesn’t worth its price at all! If you have arguments against this, please share. Thank you.

@@MikeOBrienMedia I bought one on Amazon wearhouse for one third of the price, missing the band. It seams to work fine, battery was 13 days on first charge. Bit twitchy on Google fit sync. Bit hard to read in dim light (Grey on black design) , but the oled works at night. I bought it because fossil cancled my black Friday order of my collider. Check it out, it is very similar and comes with a great app.

As a hybrid smart watch, this watch has amazing features however, it doesn’t look stylish by any means especially when you consider paying a whopping $350 for it. The fossil HR looks way better and costs about $150 less.

any ideas how seamless it is to own multiple garmin watches? I'm hoping if all paired to the same phone, I could wear one watch for half a day, change watches for the second half, and all those steps, calories, etc etc will add up to your main stats or even sync on both watches as well as the app.

Hi. I have 2 (older Garmin units - Instinct v1 & Vivosmart HR+) and to swap between the two - I usually sync each at the same time. So for example, I normally wear my Instinct throughout the day when at home or at work, but then swap to the HR+ when I'm going out.. So I sync the Instinct to the GC app before I take it off, then sync the HR+ when I put it on... and vice versa. This [seems] to work but not all the time.... Hope that helps.

@@Anil_DDappa thanks. I actually ended up with 2 watches already and what you described is exactly what I've been doing and works surprisingly well. In fact, virtually every feature besides body battery/sleep data work well across multiple watches.

Thanks so much for the review! I've been so close to buying this but it's so expensive... really eager to see your comparison with the Fossil HR tomorrow. Others have criticised the Garmin for its sometimes unresponsive touchscreen. I noticed that as you were swiping and tapping through the menu, the watch doesn't always react as you'd expect. But you didn't mention it in your review. Any thoughts on this?

I found that it acts a bit differently than a standard touch screen. Once you use it for a little while, you get used to it and I am now able to use it normally without any false swipes or unregistered touches. In the video, a lot of those happened when it was not on my wrist, or my wrist was at a weird angle, so my finger placement was not ideal

@@canuckwineguy Yes you can, I have the previous version of this watch and you can even set the digital time to light-up when you twist your wrist. So no need to tap and works fine. Although having the watch arms visible in the dark would definitely be better (they actually already improved a bit compared to previous version).

It is missing to many essentials as are all hybrid watches. However this absolutely kills the Fossil HR, if you don't care about WiFi, independent GPS, ability to take and make calls, ability to answer messages, ability to see the time in the dark, and ability to listen to music without bringing your phone along, it's very good. But 6 days is quite good too. Then again you can get all this and real smartwatch functionality for the same price with a Galaxy Watch. For me personally, hybrids are just not worth everything that is lost. But that's just me I'm sure it suits some people. Given the choice between this and the Fossil, this wins hands down.
