I was thinking about someone releasing an a350. This will be a grab for me. I also love the added note on people not being patient with developers, especially free developers. You all need to be patient.

@@LucaStabielGeaft it depends. Inibuilds employees are paid to do it. While DFD is voluntary. Volunteers from dfd also has other things to do such as work, school, and spending time with their families.

For all of you who are about to talk shit about how this is ‘little progress’ and coming ‘slowly’, just remember that this is freeware and the dev has to make this in his free time. This isn’t rolling out as quickly as payware because this isn’t what’s making the dev money, he has a job and other things in life that he has to tend to. For a freeware project, this is big progress, and the dev deserves respect for what he’s accomplished especially since he can only work on this in his free time.

​@@rydawg7629QW is effectively out of the game. PMDG has to learn a new structure for their add-ons to work properly. It not like the FS9, FSX, or P3D days when the base code has been the same for YEARS. The first 737 they made for FS9 wasn't quick either. From there, it was porting the aircraft into the next sim as time went on. Yes, development of these payware aircraft is slow, because they are still LEARNING. The 777 has been much faster progress than the 737, not to mention the MAX being developed in the background. As for TFDi, they are in the same boat. Their original plan was to port over much of the code from the 717. And they figured out fairly quickly that this WILL NOT work. They had to work from the ground up and learn the system and it's quirks. They are also MUCH smaller than PMDG by comparison. Think about logistics and take slow development with a grain of salt before you go around dissing payware developers. Especially if you aren't in a team actively working on a high fidelity payware aircraft.

few years back i was actually in the dev team, they are hugely ambitious but the this is a few years ago should tell you everything. What they have shown here is not significantly more advanced compared to the state when i left.

Well, the progress we see IS indeed massive. A lot goes into project development, and the RTM stage is actually one of the shortest. I'll continue to keep the community updated regarding any progress being made - but I think it's still good to encourage more freeware development for the sim environment.

"massive progress" more like little progress. Remember last update was 6 months ago, 6 months! for what? a cargo bay, ported over fmc and some blender models of seats????? A payware company would be nearly done by now! At this pace, no release til like mid to late 2025 or something - and by then ini have long releaesed thiers (I hope to be worng, but I dont think so) And yes ik its free etc... But calling this massive progress is simply wrong!

Unfortunately I think this isn’t gonna come out. Once the Inibuilds a350 comes it’s gonna stop development I’m sure. There team isn’t big at all. For example I’m sure pmdg built there 737 line and 777 project line the whole time this projects been in development. I hope this isn’t the case, I hope they get bought by another company that can speed up development.

Hmm, I doubt that DFD will cease development completely when iniBuilds releases their A350 rendition some time in the near future - that said though, for all you know, all the accrued experience the DFD team might have gained with the A350 in the meantime could translate in them actually joining the iniBuilds team to help expedite the payware airliner coming to market. Will just have to wait and watch :)

Yeah I definitely hope Inibuilds will pick up on the DFD a350 but I think they would of announced it during the winter wonderland event in December. But I only say that because we have 0 built from the ground up freeware airliners in the sim and it’s been out 4 years and it doesn’t look like we will get one with this sim “2020”. For example the 767 freeware stopped development I believe. Msfs is a hard platform to develop on from what I understand
