Hmm. It could serve a purpose however, it can also re-enforce some bad habits without qualified feedback. For instance, protecting your head between punches. Those gloves should be up high to protect from strikes (and naked strangles from the rear) particularly when in close to opponent (pads in this case). Remember, picking your opponents punches out of the air in close is often next to impossible. Protecting the head in close is the skilled fighter's best defence against the punch you don't see coming. When training new fighters for police work, I teach them to index the knuckles off the temple so after a short time it feels wrong to them when the fists are not touching. That way they know where to keep their hands. Then rotating the elbows inward and upward as needed to protect the head (dirty boxing some call it) so my opponent will often catch my elbows with their fists hurting their hands. Also serves to protect the neck from a strangle or knife attack from behind. Punches should be fired off from the side of the head using the body to initiate and drive them out. Rotation for hooks and of course, driving upward from below using the legs for upper cuts aka Mike Tyson style. Protect the head so it is not necessary to be ducking and diving in an over exaggerated way otherwise your body is too far out of position and off balance to counter punch. Punching a bag is good but forgetting that opponents are throwing back at you can allow you to get lazy with those hands and start letting them drop in order to generate a powerful punching feel. You can't punch anyone if you knocked out.

That’s because they have people holding pads for them. I go to an mma gym but since I’m not a pro it’s hard to get them to hold pads for me so this helps a lot

What this item does is to take away the hard work of finding angles and using footwork to get around the bag. It is a waste of money and a very very expensive item. You would be better off with a standard heavy bag and a decent water bag for around $300 total. This kit costs A LOT more than that.

Simply get wall uppercut bag rather than getting this.

There is no technique to using this and looking at ye man he’s all over the shop. Accuracy, speed - speed is power not angry slugging something that don’t hit back.
