No kidding they are all so adorable

When the mother raises her leg like she's going to kick (as the foal tries to nurse), is that because the foal is being to rough on the teat?

Scott Martin more likely because mom is eating. Some mares have hay or grain time as "their" time, and don't like the baby to nurse then. She wasn't happy when Ellie first moved over, before she even nursed.
