I would say that is a silver Angel. Altums have a very different nose shape.

Might be a Blue pinoy zebra (Philippine blue) angelfish?

I'm really glad you ended up with Buenos Aires tetras. They're amazing and gorgeous fish and like no one on KZread has them. When their tails color up, they should be a bright pumpkin orange. It's beautiful!

I started my fish tank because and due to lockdown i finished mine before you😂 I got a 20g tank with 10 rummynose, 6 otos and 20 RCS They've all been added gradually, my tests are all right..they all look happy but i don't know why the rummys are scared everytime i approach the tank

That was absolutely the most fun, your kids are so adorable, your wife is beautiful and such a good sport...but this aquarium is just amazing in my unprofessional opinion...but I know what I like to look at and it is visually stunning with the schooling fish and the ever so elegant angels...great job family...and BTW, how long did you sit out there watching them...lol...

I like the mixture of angelfish you got. And the plants really compliment the tank!

Finally! Yeah, Fish! And the moon joke was funny because that stuff literally looks like what they covered the spaceship with. LOL Unboxing is so fun, even when watching someone else. Love the tank.

The "Altum" Angelfish that you mentioned appears to be Philippine Blue Angelfish. Altum Angelfish(Pterophyllum altum) are another species that is more sensitive to their requirements. Altum Angelfish are larger and taller. Philippine Blue Angelfish are a breed that was created to exhibit a bluish hue to their color and was first bred by a breeder in the Philippines. Philippine Blue Angelfish still belong to the common angelfish species which is the Pterophyllum scalare. Also,results may vary between fishkeepers but in my experience,Rams and Angelfish get along fine. I have kept angelfish with Rams for a long time and for the most part,they leave each other alone although Rams tend to show their dominance around very young angelfish.

@@MDFishTanks Also,I have read and heard from some people that Buenos Aires Tetras will eat plants although they might eat the more delicate plants. But since a lot of your plants in this tank appear to be robust species,they'll probably bot nibble on the leaves. Results may vary though since I haven't kept Buenos Aires Tetras before. Other than that,those Angelfish suit this tank. I tend to favor the more wild-looking angelfish like Silver Angelfish because of their wild-type colorations but domesticated color strains suit densely planted aquariums. In my opinion,wild-looking angelfish like Silvers or the regional variants like Peruvian ,Sta. Isabel ,or Manacapuru tend to look their best in a tank with a lot of wood as hardscape with minimal plants like Vallisneria while the domesticated color variants like Platinums,Marbles,Kois,and other look their best in densely planted nature-style set-ups.

Question: are you worried about adding that many fishies at once? And the white angelfish is called Platinum and yours with the glitter scales are Platinum Diamond. I got the same for my tank 😍

no not worried Samantha. I added a ton of extra bacteria to the tank (115gallon, +500 litres), the tank is very heavily planted with two filters, has had lots and lots of snails creating waste for weeks and weeks. It's been 3 days since they were added now and all are perfect :)

So, I am 18 and in the hobby since I was 9, I still live with my parents. Every Time when I get new fish, my mom doesnt really care, the only fish she loves and adores are Corydoras, and tbh, I Love them too, so adorable and its so funny when you add them, they Go right at work. No hasitation, Start cleaning ASAP. And their love dances are also very adorable. I think I will never not keep Corydoras. My tank would be kinda boring without them. 😅

Lmao you need to do one episode with that voice from the intro. Loving the giveaway, I hope someone who can put it to good use will win. Very kind of you! Good thing I already have CO2 and lots of scissors/tweezers, so I have no use for more. That "so excited" at 4:30, we've all been there lol. Did she roll her eyes too? By the way, did you add 6 of each species of corydoras to the tank? They can group up with other species but much prefer staying within their own. The fish look awesome, can't wait for them to be grown out. The black angel is so hard to see with the black background, he needs to become less shy and float around in front of the plants!

I know it has been 2 years since this was published, but I have just found you and I am in love with your aquariums. I used to have them, started with a small 2 gallon Beta tank then gradually got up to a 50 gallon tank. I never used live plants in any of them because I didn't know how and they looked like too much work. Long story short, I got to the point where I just was not able to maintain the aquarium any longer, so I sold it. During my journey though, I at one time had 2 ten gallon tanks with angels in them. I loved them so much. I trained them to take flake food from my fingers. They were so beautiful and sweet. I also had Emerald Cory's. Unfortunately the @#$%^& that I was married to at the time, decided he didn't want me messing with the fish anymore so he dumped ice water into both tanks and killed all of my fish. That life is a whole story unto itself, which I won't go into. For a long time I didn't even try to have fish, but when I met and married my current hubby (been married 38 yrs now) I started over with fish, first with the Beta's then gradually increasing to the 50 gallon multi species tank. I would love to have another small aquarium again, but I really don't have a good place to put one, or the energy/strength, to maintain it with arthritis in all my joints, so I will just enjoy them through you. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful hobby with us.

Beautiful tanks. Beunos Ares Tetras are great fish. They grow a nice size and are known to eat plants. And from my experience they did eat my plants...🤭.

Maybe I just missed it but the head and mouth makes me think its an regular angel, perhaps a silver or a neon blue one. Altums are usually easy to spot, their appearance differs from the regular ones we normally see in shops.
