From my farm to your home. 🏡
My name is Kaleb Wyse and here, you will find delicious recipes, videos from my farm, garden, and fun home projects. My knowledge has been earned from years of home cooks and farmers in my family. wyseguide.com
A farm is much more than a house to live in; it’s a lifestyle. My passion for gardening and landscaping came from outdoor work with my mom in our expansive farm yard, my love for baking came from innumerable short walks to my grandma’s house to make cookies, and as a farmer, my dad taught me that we are the stewards of our land.
So whether you live in a city center or have decided rural life is for you, I hope to inspire you with the projects and recipes I use in daily life. We can’t all live on a farm, but we all need farms in our lives. From the dirt in my vegetable garden to the flour in my kitchen, I’ll show you everything I love to do.

You need the Garden Answer augers, they have cut down on the length of the blade to make it weigh less and and it is taller, so you don't need to lean over. I love starting my day with Laura and finishing it with you. You both are hard working, with similar aesthetic style.

There is also no flange on it to deflect the dirt, which makes the auger much lighter. 👍
I appreciate you more than words can express. In the face of Project 2025 threatening us, criminals being given absolute immunity. You bring sunshine, cheer and kindness and creativity. Thank you for all you bring to your viewers.💖💯
I’m exhausted just from watching. Your hard work will pay off. Loving the drone ❤
I love those concrete planters so much❣️. You always find the most interesting pieces that add so much interest to your garden, beautiful!
Tremendous!!!💚I love your vision Kaleb, how you execute it and your dedication to it. Well done!!! And now enjoy the fruits of your labour. 🙂
Have you considered beekeeping? It seems like it would be a natural choice for your garden and the honey a delicious resource in the kitchen.
I'm so looking forward to your spring update. Thank you for sharing how cut the blooms off to encourage root growth. That tip is going to come in handy.
this video was so fun!!! and your garden looks amazing :) WELL WORTH ALL THE HARD WORK!
I'm in Western side of New York near the Niagara Falls and in zone 6a. I'm a little to old to do much gardening anymore but love seeing your gardens grow.

Your never to old theore you move around the better your health I'm ,76 and just moved from south Florida to north Florida and I can't wait to learn the growing season here I plant a vegetable garden every year plus lots of figs trees. Which I grow in pots and flowers keeps me busy and I mow my yard with a push mower. Please do not let age keep you from doing things you'll be surprised what you can do if you just try. .God bless
LOVE the project, so glad you added the stewartia! It is such a great tree ad the winter bark is amazing!
Thanks! You are an inspiration to gardeners and homemakers, young and old. Love your enthusiasm!
I can;t wait to see the whole gardens fully blooming and your benches and tables with maybe a canopy over it with lighting near your firepit for next summer. just an idea for you to think about putting in there to have friends over at night and maybe you can make a video about that too. I am excited for your gardens to come to full bloom as your project so far is wonderful and I lovvvvvvvvvvvvve love love it so far. fantastic job on it and thanks for the blueberry gallette recipes it is awesome.
Yes I do have a question and I think I have never seen how you do this. You mentioned that, if I remember well, you will mow the complete area in the spring and leave all the branches & leaves to mulch the bed. Would love for you to film this to show us exactly how. Ok I live in a city with mixed beddings but would really like to see exactly how you do this. Thanks in advance and really love your channel, cooking and plantings. Have an enjoyable summer 😊

If you search "Did I Really Just Mow My Flowerbeds?! Wyse" on KZread, you should find a video of me mowing off my beds this spring. Hope this helps! 😊
Great progress video. It would be helpful for you to either put the plant name on the screen or in the video description for those of us who are less experienced gardeners and are not as familiar with plants. With the actual names, I could do a bit of research to see if these particular plants would also work in 6b.
My cat loves Karl Forrester grass 😂 I have to split the green leaves in three or four pieces as it’s very sharp and he has his own private plant pot💕
Love your planting design. Drone footage is awesome.
I really love what you’ve done with these walkways. I’m interested in seeing how your prairie is progressing as well. 👍🏻
Kaleb its one of my favorite video. You show and explain so well how to do it. Your garden is so beautiful ❤️ It's so inspiring for me! I used a plan also to work. It's wonderful to work with. I still keep my plans and kept them through the years. Now, I need to transform my flowers garden to invite more little creatures to come in (birds and bees). Thank you so much! You spread love all around with this beauty.❣️From Canada
This is going to be beautiful. I applaud how much work you put into it.
I love the drone footage!! ❤
Loving the drone footage 🌱✨
Loved your new gardens! So precise. And edged out perfectly. At the end during the drone shot from above, I noticed your grass could use a dose of Malorganite fertilizer spread over just before a good rain day. I tried it and man did our yard green up an become lush in just a few weeks. Just a thought. Happy gardening ❤
I just love your videos and recipes i learn do much. God bless
I always look forward to your videos. Your new gardens looks absolutely amazing. It’s going to be fun watching it establish and mature. 😊
❤❤❤thank you for sharing , Kaleb!
Absolutely beautiful as always
I love the upright nepeta! That’s brilliant! Next year. 😊. And your park benches are spectacular!!💜. And a split-rail fence😮…what a perfect idea to offset and accent the formality. It’s going to be magnificent, Kaleb.
Awesome transformation
Love this Kaleb! Cant wait to watch it fill in! Thank you.
Love watching and getting inspiration ❤
The cedars behind the garden bed are a beautiful backdrop and I would continue them down the open area Caleb for the continuity they would provide.
Looking forward to next Spring!❤️
Hi from Florida! I had to learn a whole new way of gardening in our sub-tropical ecosystem here in FL. Originally coming from Maine, it was definitely trial & error here on my property, but I am loving these tropical plants that I can work with now! I went from deer & moose eating my blueberry bushes, to rabbits & tortoises & learning mostly what NOT to include. I watched my beautiful Delphinium get eaten overnight by bunnies! I have used larged potted plants along with perennials that deter these critters. I live the varied plants you used & the reseeding factor-very smart.😊❤
Beautiful Caleb! The planning and work that goes into something like this is tremendous. You will enjoy this for years to come!
Once again the information the planning. Last year we redid our gardens in Northern California to drought resistant and also could weather heat. We also had noted what plants thrive on our property. I am more of the philosophy if your garden is not huge make it wonderful by not many varieties, but mass of similar plants. I love visiting our garden areas everyday and the happiness is we have had high heats and the gardens have not turned to crispy critters but remains lovely. You are absolutely correct to plant to your planting zone. Thank you our master gardener, master home chef, and master collector. ❤
It’s fantastic!! The color and layout is so peaceful, and the mix of formal style with your farm landscape is just perfection. My favorite mix of styles…country with a touch of gilding. 😊😊. Thank you for introducing me to hyssop! 😮. What an amazing plant!! Mine are 4’ tall in their first year. Just stunning. And the 🐝🐝 adore them. I’m gonna add many more this fall-they’re just so impressive. The bees just adore nepeta too, which is another of my favorites, as well as the Russian Sage, of course. Looking for Culver’s Root now. Thanks for the inspiration you share, Kaleb!
What a transformation!! WOW! You should be so proud of the work you have done. It truly is beautiful, thanks for sharing! 🥰
Great video! Thanks for sharing the info and the passion.
Oh, a split-rail fence will be perfect! Great idea❤
I love to seeing your creative process. Your yard and home is so beautiful. I always look forward to all your videos and posts on the different platforms.
Kaleb the results are beautiful you have a beautiful property I hope you don’t push yourself too hard it looks like a lot of work thankyou kaleb you are a dream ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊👍🏻
Thank you for the great explanation of your process and plan. So helpful and inspiring, Kaleb. Very pretty and elegant.
What a great video. Thank you for taking us along on your process of planning and plant choices. You are such a great teacher. ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience 💚✨ you truly inspire me to continue to learn and I am so grateful for your existence in doing this and sharing it with the world so selflessly 🌱🤟🏼✨
Wow Kaleb, this looks amazing! I can’t wait to see all these plants fill in.
I love your videos the best! Keep on doing what you do, as you're an excellent educator. Laura has nothing on you😃😎
Thank you so much for these videos! I’m in western Kansas zone 6a now supposedly, but have a lot in common with growing conditions, especially challenges of wind and water. I’m on a farm with a lot of open space and it’s challenging to create garden “rooms” with flat land and open areas. I have similar prairie plantings and am so inspired by your garden farm!
Eeee!! I’m SO excited to see this once established! Absolutely LOVE THIS! 👏🏻 ❤

It looks gorgeous Kaleb.
Kaleb what a great video!! Loving the group plantings and the selection of perennials and grasses!
Bring on Spring 2025. It’s going to be BEAUTIFUL. I’m on a similar trajectory, but in Zone 9b, HOT California.
Ooh that is going to be a beautiful show next year! Fabulous job sir! 👏 😊💛
Looks great!! 😊
Very nice!
So beautiful love the colors. Thanks so much for sharing ♥️
Wow! This is going to be spectacular!
Your videos on gardening are perfect! 👍
My favorite kind of video in a beautiful garden. Thank you! 🌱☀️
I love this garden! It's exactly what I like; defined edges with exuberant planting. 😍 I do have a question, I wonder if you have quack grass trying to invade your garden beds and if so, how you deal with it? It seems to be a constant problem in my garden.
Wonderful video. Can't wait to see it all in bloom next spring/summer.
Looks incredible. I'd love to see your whole vision if you have that drawn up, too!
Love your gardens so pretty it would be a wounderful place to sit and read a book
I enjoy your channel and I notice some colloquialisms which is fun. Both of my parents are from southeast Iowa. North English and Harper. They moved to Sioux City before I was born. I also enjoy gardening. Mostly vegetables but we have several small flower gardens too. Hostas, pachysandra, hydrangeas, and others.
Nice landscaping!
This is so exciting to see your plan come together ❤🎉from Andrea 😊
Hey Kaleb what variety of stewartia did you plant? I love the bark on them! Those pathways are really bringing the farm together ❤️
@WyseGuide

Hi there! I used the pseudo camellia variety. It's also sometimes known as the Japanese or Korean stewartia. Hope this helps! 🌳
Love the Stewartia…never seen one…
I love the new addition to your garden. I also inherited a garden from my husband’s family. Each year I’ve tried to add some new and interesting plants. Hardscaping is more difficult since it’s more expensive but I scour juntique stores and thrift stores for interesting items I can incorporate. I’ve been fairly successful. Now it’s time to do paths. I know you said you had done some of this. Any tips? Thanks for sharing
So beautiful! Could you please do a list of plants you used for this garden?
@WyseGuide
20 күн бұрын
Of course! I used: Caradonna salvia Goldsturm rudbeckia Feather reed grass "Karl Foerster" Summer Magic Nepeta Millenium allium Culver's root Sanguisorba "Giant Burnet" American Mountain Mint I also planted two Stewartia pseudo camellia trees and have some prairie dropseed grass on the way!
❤❤❤
Love the pathway! Are the side stones cemented down?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I so enjoy your videos but could you include the zone of the plants you use ?? so we will know if that plant will work in our gardens I'm in 4 but sometimes I can do zone 5 plants thank you
❤
Culver's Root is such a beautiful plant. I looked it up on U.S. Forest Service and saw that it likes moist soil, but you have it in your drought tolerant section. How often do you water this? I'd sure love to have this in my northern Utah garden.
Exciting to see the new perennial bed take shape. Will you continue to hand water each plant (200!) until they are established? I did see from the video that you hand watered after planting. I wondered if you use sprinklers at all.
@WyseGuide
20 күн бұрын
Yes, for now, I am hand watering them. It takes time but it will be worth it! 💧
Do you have published cookbooks?
How do you keep the deer from eating your flowers?
How do you plan to tie the walkway in to the front of your house.
How much did you spend for all those plants? Just wondering
I may have missed if you said this, but how will you water this area? Do you set up drip irrigation or sprinklers or just rain? :) Thanks!
@WyseGuide
20 күн бұрын
Hi there! I'm only going to water if we don't get enough rain (<1" per week) while these get established. I'm just using a long hose and doing it by hand. If you go to 21:27 you can see a little clip of me watering. After they become established, I shouldn't need to worry about watering as most are drought tolerant plants.
Just one question, Kaleb: I have seen your spring bed mowing of perennials, and with that amount of hardwood mulch, won't you damage your mower? Or do you rake it away from the bed and then mow?
@WyseGuide
23 күн бұрын
I set the mower high enough so that the blades don't cut into the mulch layer. It will throw small pieces here and there but it's never enough to damage it. 😊
Is your dog ok?

What kind of fertilizer do you use for your lawn?
@WyseGuide

Hi there! I use Espoma Organic Lawn Food. If you search "Fertilizing my lawn Wyse" on KZread, you should be able to find a longer video of me fertilizing. Hope this helps! 😊
